"For once?" =P
But yeah, seriously.
Minimum wage for a waitress is great. Whether you pool your tips or not.
Minimum wage here is $6.67. But for tipped employees? $3.77
That's partly why working at Sonic was so awesome. Not only did I get to skate on the job, but those skates raked in some good tips, if you knew how to skate. Trust me.
Plus minimum wage? Oh... It made up for smelling like burgers every day, trust me.
And i was on 'A-Team', which means they loaned me out to stores that were just opening. While every other employee was just hired in the area with absolutely no experience on opening day, they brought over maybe 5 employees that were supposed how to do -everything- in the store.
Would pay for travel to get to new store, and hotel while you were there.
Then, $10 an hour. Plus time and a half for overtime. (i'd be working at least 12 hour shifts every day for 2 weeks. i had overtime by mid week.) Plus tips are even better when the store first opens. Especially when there's only a handful of you working there that knows what the heck they are doing. And it shows.
Granted, having to do everything in the store, you didn't always have a chance to skate out and get tips. But the times you did. Oh boy.
i think i made well over $100 in tips in just a couple hours one day.
Tiring, but well worth it.
Mmm. i kind of miss that.
And i like to think daily skating really helped me keep in shape back then. Killer leg muscles. Heck yeah.
*Rambles.*
