So, I'm trying to come up with a good way to have RP duels! They're pretty fun!
So far, what I have in mind was...Before each round, each player rolls a d20 + dex, to see who gets to cast their spell that round.
Next, the player that wins the dex roll, RPs casting a spell, usually waving his wand and shouting out the proper words, then rolls a d20 + his main casting attribute modifier, from Int, Cha, or Wis.
The victim then rolls either a dex roll to dodge, or a con roll to resist, vs the caster's int/cha/wis roll. If the victim beats or matches the roll of the caster, he dodges or resists the spell.
I'm also thinking, whoever gets hit with three damaging spells first, loses, or to have the winner decided logically based on how injured the duelers are.
...This is just a briefly written out summary of my ideas though. Whatcha think?
Perhaps have some other rules such as...If both duelers roll the same dex bonus to see who can cast, both cast at the same time and the spells collide, etc.
Also something like, if one of the casters uses Protego, he can choose to resist a spell using his caster bonus such as Charisma, instead of his constitution or dex bonus, and the spell is reflected back at the caster, forcing him to roll dex or con...And so on and so on!?
Opinion please!
