Funny story. While reading this thread, I kid you not, a storm rolled in and decided to give our "Educational Housing" some power. So, like all ignorant computer gamers, I was blissfully unaware of the dangers that lurked right outside. I continued playing until something odd happened. My computer shut itself off. Laughing at this hilarious predicament that I seemed to have gotten myself into again, as I usually do, I pressed the power button on my computer. You know, to turn it back on. Well, it turns out that through some freak miracle my computer didn't break, but it did reset itself to factory settings. Isn't that hilarious? So I'm just, oh y'know, reinstalling Neverwinter Nights and CEP 2.3. It's no big deal, really. Except that it takes forever. I'd reckon to say that I'll be back on the server by tomorrow, sometime.

BP and celtic, if it's any consolation, I had to reformat today. So we've got a nice club going for those needing to reinstall the stupid game. We should get a club house.

Due to computer failures and hard drive failures and other such wonderfulness, I've had to re-install NWN at least 4 times in the last year, on two different operating systems. Might have been 5 times...I feel y'alls pain.
I've learned an interesting lesson through it all though that I might pass along to you Windoze users. If you make a backup of your entire NWN folder, you can copy and paste the whole thing back where it belongs if you later need to do a reinstall. No need to have the CDs or anything else. NWN is the only Windows program I've ever used that didn't require installation the hard way. I've done that at least twice on my windows computers and its always worked.
EDIT: This is on Windows XP. I've never owned Vista or 7.

It's fine on 7 and on Vista. I keep my NWN folder on an external hard drive and if I've ever got to format or what have you, I just copy it on over. Works like a charm.
