I dunno that many of you guys will participate or anything, but me and several of my friends are. I thought I'd spread it around. It seems like a really cool idea to me, and something I strongly support.

I've read through almost that entire site, but I've yet to discover what
the participants will actually be DOING on that day, other than "observing
and shedding light onto" the "problem."
So what's up? Everyone not gonna talk for a whole day? :3

Basically, you try to go the day without speaking, yes. If you have classes that you can't not talk in, then you can talk in them, but in free time and stuff, not talking. *Shrugs*

Sounds totally pointless. If there's anythign I've learned over the years, it's that events to raise awareness don't acheive anything >.<

I totally disagree, Adam. As a matter of fact, I'd like to call for our own little event. For the next five minutes, let's all observe a silence on these forums in an effort to raise awareness about "i before e, except after c." Thank you, thank you. Good luck, everyone!

Can I counter-observe that on behalf of all of the dyslexics? (whether alphabetical or numerical...) Though I can still be an Ally anyway. 
More seriously though... I think it's a great idea - and a lot of people need to read that pamphlet they have put together for educators.
Unfortunately, I'm not in school anymore and not talking at my workplace is a really bad idea.... (yay service industry) I don't think we're even allowed to wear yellow ribbons to support troops overseas.

I'm glad to see you've cottoned on to my villainous plot, JB.
Sadly, I will now have to devise an elaborate and overly complicated wya to kill you now. Though, I will leave you with atleast 400 possible means of escape as is the tradition with such things.
On another note, is anyone selling a giant pool of boiling acid, a death ray and a hollowed out volcano? I wouldn't ask but my land lord kicked me out of my old villainous lair because I wouldn't give him some of the rent early. Blasted crack addict
