So, I just had a person go into shock and collapse to the floor. I realized that I really don't know to much about the general first response how to help type stuff.

I'm at work so i can't look to much up. anyone have any experience or tips they know of?

Depends on the reason they went into shock!

 Do not leave them unattended.
 Keep them from unnecessary movement.
 Raise their legs, unless this causes them pain (injury etc)
 Possibly get them a blanket, or try to get their temp regular

Could be Insulin Shock or Hypoglycemia

First thing – ask them if they’ve eaten today!

A person in insulin shock needs sugar, quickly! If they are conscious, give them some kind of candy, soda, fruit juice etc.

This is based only on the limited knowledge I have of diabetic shock. These are the guidelines I was given when I had gestational diabetes. May have nothing to do with why this person collapsed. I am not in the medical field!!! If you feel it warrants it, call 911

My, you are an iniative one, coming to ask to a forum that is unlikely to know about this instead of looking up from the wiki about its treatment. Wiki has more than enough tips on how to react to it.

Remember, first thing is to call paramedics. Always. Even though the person rejuvenates from the shock quickly.

had the forum up when it happened so it was the logical place to ask while going over it in my head.
