Using the Pretty Good Character Creator you can quickly rebuild your character as a sorcerer, wizard, bard, druid, or cleric.
It also lets you complete your spell book, as a wizard, rebuild your levels from level 1, and generally allows for you to remake your character from the ground up, and be able to put it in at the level you had achieved.
Just have to make sure you ask, nicely, if your .bic can be put into the server vault.
An example is that I rebuilt Terry as a wizard.

You should, of course, get GM permission in advance.

While this is a neat program, it is exceedingly unlikely that an edited character will ever be allowed into the vault, other than minor cosmetic changes, or correcting an error, and even then it will have to be very pre-approved by what is most likely going to be multiple DM's.
Of course things like this will be taken on a case-by-case basis, but "I want to change my character to a bard" most likely isn't going to be enough.

What Calan pretty much just said. Generally as a baseline it is very rare if ever we allow a change into another class.

*nods* Makes sense. Though it's a good thing to experiment with "what might have been."
I rebuilt Miriam's levels so that she was a true bard, rather than a bard/sorc. . . Frankly, in magical powers, bards pretty much suck. But then they're supposed to be melee fighters, with the ability to call on magic when needed.
*shrug* It's a fun little gadget to play with, and be able to have your char with cool stuff to start, when you play some of the single-player mods, out there.

But bards and clerics are great for RP. Wiz/Sorc and sometimes Druids focus more around power/damage which leads to power gaming.

Nothing wrong with pure bards. Callie's a pure bard.
I've always rp'd her as not being interested in dueling or fighting with magic - thanks to her first DADA class, which was taught by Snape. :p She's also not very good at Charms, but has a couple of odd talents.
She is also pretty good at Quidditch and other physical things (like running) - but it took a bit of convincing ic'ly for her to join the Gryff team....
And for the record - yes, I have also tried other classes. :p

I've considered using this to get Tony up to level 13, without having to grind for it. =/ It's a pain in the butt, and takes a LONG time. Why there is a 2-3 year level difference between 5 and 6 is beyond me. And you don't get exp points for finishing the owls.
Unless I could get somebody to warp me to the crypts and let me vamp the xp.

Ask in game. I'm usually not opposed to taking groups to the crypts for hunting, long as I'm not busy with something more important.

What's the hurry? Especially for players like Frey and Pein, who have approximately eighty characters between them, isn't it enough just to forgo grinding altogether and play a lower year?

Pfft, JB...you caused me to lose the game.
And I don't care if it -was- a hyperbole.
