I've seen this on MySpace a few times and thought it was fun. ^_^ Enjoi. IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE? So, here's how it works: Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc) Put it on shuffle. Press play. For every question, type the name of the song that's playing. When you go to a new question, press the next button. No cheating! Use the very next song. THE SOUNDTRACK OF MY LIFE: 1. Opening Credits: 2. Waking Up: 3. First Day At School: 4. Falling In Love: 5. First Kiss: 6. Breaking Up: 7. Prom: 8. Life: 9. Mental Breakdown: 10. Driving: 11. Flashback: 12. Getting back together: 13. Wedding: 14. Birth Of Child: 15. Final Battle: 16. To prove that I'm better (and more interesting) than you, I'm going to actually try to make some comments on how the different songs fit into the context; a simple list of songs (some of them which few may have heard, at that) doesn't really lend to fascinating reading. 1. Opening Credits: Over You - Beth Hart We open fresh with a raw, soulful piano ballad. Apparently a relaxing start to the movie. "Living, loving, laughing, oooover you..." 2. Waking Up: Blood Brothers - Iron Maiden The opening lines of Dickinson are fitting; "And if you're taking a walk through the garden of life, what do you think you'd expect you would see?" Symbolic, as the protagonist (me), gets up and out in the world. 3. First Day At School: The Things You Do - Zakk Wylde Uh oh. I'm being picked on at school. To quote the song, "How can you do the things you do? You make Satan look like Christ". Not a good start in society. 4. Falling In Love: I Love You - HIM I swear I didn't cheat. This song really speaks for itself. 5. First Kiss: Toca's Miracle - Fragma "I need a miracle, I need a miracle, it's more physical what I need from you..." 'nuff said. 6. Breaking Up: Jacob's Ladder - Rush Going by the lyrics of the song, the break up was tough, but I felt I was better off from it. 7. Prom: Story To Tell - Death "If you think you own the end, take a look at the script of sadness etched in the book". Apparently I'm not dealing as well with this as I thought. 8. Life: Maxwell Murder - Rancid "Maxwell can't tell he's in hell, he just wants you to visit him there" 9. Mental Breakdown: mOBSCENE - Marilyn Manson "You want commitment, put on your best suit, put your arms around me now we're going down." Um. I'm at a loss for this one. I'm guessing I'm diving into a life of hedonism and shallow pleasures, hiding from the undeniable truth approaching. 10. Driving: Epilogue - Snakes in Southern Flames What do you know... a blues track from my own band! It's chill, it's cool, and I'm cruising along the highway, looking for a way to escape the demons in my life. 11. Flashback: Leave That Thing Alone - Rush This one's an instrumental, but it's very harried and frantic. I've probably had an awful realization that things aren't working out at all. 12. Getting Back Together: Past Coming Back - Bobby Pinson Pretty ironic title. However, the song's about two people just leaving everything behind. "Go until we are past coming back." 13. Wedding: No Rain - Blind Melon Leaving aside that the song is about clinical depression for a second, they say rain on a wedding day is bad luck. And considering this song is pretty full of irony, I'm guessing this means bad luck for the protagonist. Let's scroll down and see, shall we? 14. Birth of Child: Claw Finger - Akira Yamaoka POW! What do you know, a song from the Silent Hill 1 soundtrack. Dear Lord, we've given birth to the Antichrist. 15. Final Battle: Who Knows - Jimi Hendrix Let's all imagine I actually got something fitting; this song is all about sweet sweet love making. 16. Funeral Song: Paint It Black - Tea Party And we're back on track. My son, Pyramid Head, viciously murdered me, no surprise there, and the funeral is as tragic as my death. "I see a red door and I want to paint it black..." 17. End Credits: Precious - Depeche Mode *laughs* Let me just quote the opening lyrics... "Precious and fragile things need special handling; my God, what have we done to you? A tragic tale of frustration, personal demons, drug abuse, and in the end, hell breaking loose. Literally. |

Decided to do another one, with a larger playlist... The Soundtrack: 1. Opening Credits: Soul meets Body - Death Cab for Cutie 2. Waking Up: Show me How to live - Audioslave 3. First Day At School: Campus - Vampire Weekend (I...have no Idea how that one happened...) 4. Falling In Love: If Everyone Cared - Nickelback (...) 5. First Kiss: In the Air Tonight - Phil Collins (...I'm...scared now.) 6. Breaking Up: Call Me - Shinedown 7. Prom: Welcome to the Black Parade - My Chemical Romance (...I can't tell if the title is mocking me more than the song, or not...) 8. Life: Headstrong - Trapt (...Didn't I get this last time?) 9. Mental Breakdown: Riot - Three Days Grace (...Did I just inspire a rebellion?) 10. Getting Back together: Back at your door - Maroon 5 13. Wedding: We Are - Ana (...) 14. Birth Of Child: Learn to Crawl - Black Lab (Good grief, it's from the Spiderman soundtrack...My kid's gonna be Spiderman.) 15. Final Battle: Blood Brothers - Papa Roach (I have a partner in this! Whoo!) 17. Funeral Song: Into the West - Annie Lennox (Holy crap, I'm an Elf! Whoo!) 18. End Credits: Re-education (Through Labor) - Rise against the Machine (Sweet, awesome ending.) |

1. Opening Credits: Watch Me Move - Fefe Dobson What a fun song for opening credits! "When I walk into the room, you're gonna, you're gonna W-w-w-watch me move..." 2. Waking Up: What You Waiting For? - Gwen Stefani I can definitely see this one working for a wake-up montage. Like, getting ready in front of the mirror and everything. And it has the great shift from the ballad-opening to the funky, heavy-bass pop sound for the transition from being a sleep to waking up late and being like, "Oh, $*&!! Have to get ready!" "What an amazing time What a family How did the years go by? Now it's only me Tick-tock, tick-tock Tick-tock, tick-tock..." 3. First Day At School: Candyman - Christina Aguilera ...well, I guess this works if the first day of school means coming back to a summer fling or a guy I can't stop thinking about or something? "I met him out for dinner on a Friday night He really got me working up an appetite He had tattoos up and down his arm There's nothing more dangerous than a boy with charm..." 4. Falling In Love: Hey There Delilah - Plain White Ts Gross. I'm so sick of this song. I guess it fits, though. "Our friends would all make fun of us And we'll just laugh along because we know That none of them have felt this way..." 5. First Kiss: Blur - Britney Spears ...must be one hell of a first kiss. "Can't remember what I did last night Maybe I shouldn't have given in But I just couldn't fight Hope I didn't, but I think I might've Everything is still a blur..." 6. Breaking Up: I've Got All This Ringing In My Ears And None On My Fingers - Fall Out Boy Haha. 'The truth hurts worse than anything I could do to you.' Definite breakup material right there. "You’re a canary, I’m a coal mine, 'Cause sorrow is just all the rage. Take one for the team. You all know what I mean. And I’m so sorry, But not really..." 7. Prom: Mr. Jones - Counting Crows Captures both that bittersweet end that prom symbolizes and the need to fit in. "She's suddenly beautiful We all want something beautiful Man, I wish I was beautiful So come dance this silence down through the morning..." 8. Life: Don't Cha - Pussycat Dolls A life of stealing other people's boyfriends? "Fight the feeling, leave it alone 'Cause if it ain't love, it just ain't enough to leave a happy home..." 9. Mental Breakdown: Love Game - Lady Gaga As repetitive as this song is, it could definitely give me mental breakdown. "Hold me and love me Just wanna touch you for a minute Baby, three seconds is enough For my heart to quit it..." 10. Driving: Like Whoa - Aly & AJ Haha! Definitely a driving song. "Now I'm rolling my window down I love the wind but I hate the sound..." 11. Flashback: Have A Little Faith In Me - Mandy Moore Something sad's going down in this flashback. Reminiscing on a dead lover, maybe. "You see time, time is our friend Cause for us there is no end All you gotta do is Have a little faith in me..." 12. Getting Back together: Break The Ice - Britney Spears Awww, yeah. You know this song foreshadows hot make-up sex. "I know it's been awhile, but I'm glad you came And I've been thinkin' bout how you say my name..." 13. Wedding: Too Damn Young - Julie Roberts Marrying someone even though I'm still in love with someone from my past much? "He kissed me like he meant forever And we were too damn young to know any better..." 14. Birth Of Child: Mercy - Duffy I lol'd at this one. "You got my begging you for mercy You got me begging down on my knees..." 15. Final Battle: Walk Away - Kelly Clarkson Feisty. Has that "enough talking, let's throw down" vibe. "So before you point your finger Get your hands off of my trigger You need to know this situation's getting old And now the more you talk, the less I can take..." 17. Funeral Song: Gardenia - Mandy Moore This song would play over a funeral scene for someone who died without anyone ever really knowing the things about them that truly matter. Including themselves. Good funeral music, but really sad on a number of different levels. "I'm the one who likes gardenia I'm the one who likes to make love on the floor I don't want to hang up the phone yet It's been good Getting to know me more..." 18. End Credits: Tim McGraw - Taylor Swift Maybe I finally left my husband I didn't really love. "When you think happiness I hope you think that little black dress Think of my head on your chest And my old faded blue jeans..." |

Edited mine out of the heading post, and added comments in a (most likely vain) attempt to be as awesome as Tsu & Ern. THE SOUNDTRACK OF MY LIFE: 1. Opening Credits: If It Be Your Will - Antony & the Johnsons A rather pensive beginning...uncertainty, longing, and submission... "If it be your will that I speak no more And my voice be still as it was before I will speak no more, I shall abide until I am spoken for if it be your will" 2. Waking Up: The Howling - Within Temptation This isn't just a new day, this is a fight for survival! "I feel them getting closer, the howls are sending chills down my spine..." 3. First Day At School: Walk the Line - Johnny Cash A lighter note, or at least a lighter topic... "I keep my eyes wide open all the time I keep the ends out for the tie that binds Because you're mine, I walk the line" 4. Falling In Love: Going Under - Evanescence ...this isn't going so well. "Just when I thought I'd reached the bottom I'm Dying again I'm going under, drowning in you I'm falling forever..." 5. First Kiss: 18th Floor Balcony/It's Just Me - Blue October "I'm gonna fill a piece of me I'm gonna feel at home I'm gonna make this cloud above me disappear, be gone" 6. Breaking Up: Wet Sand - RHCP With such a beginning, the end was inevitable. "My sunny side has up and died I'm betting that when we collide The universe will shift into a low" 7. Prom: Tonight Will Be Fine - Teddy Thompson "But I know from your eyes and I know from your smile that tonight will be fine, will be fine, will be fine, For a while." 8. Life: The Truth Beneath the Rose - Within Temptation "The veil of my dreams Deceived all I have seen Forgive me for what I have been (Forgive me my sins)" 9. Mental Breakdown: Another Girl, Another Planet - The Only Ones "You always get under my skin I don't find it irritating You always play to win I don't need rehabilitating" 10. Driving: Can't Stop Now - Keane Insanely fitting...a late-night drive through a town all too familiar. "And I can't slow down for no one in town And I can't stop now for no one The motion keeps my heart running" 11. Flashback: Pain Lies On the Riverside - Live Just...ouch. "Pain lies on the riverside And Pain will never say goodbye." 12. Getting back together: Back to Black - Amy Winehouse Apparently I'm getting back together with emo-ness. "You go back to her, and I go back to black" 13. Wedding: Saw Red - Sublime/Gwen S. "Oh, woman hold your man tight If it makes you feel right, its your own life" 14. Birth Of Child: Bury Me Deep Inside Your Heart - HIM Fitting, for the deepest darkest love. "That's the way it's always been My heart stops beating only for you, baby" 15. Final Battle: The Bad Touch - Bloodhound Gang Okay, seriously, got nothing. I can't even use the battleship reference. 17. Funeral Song: For the Heart I Once Had - Nightwish Dying with regrets. Predictably. "For the heart I'll never have For the child forever gone The music flows, because it longs For the heart I once had" 18. End Credits: Helena (So Long and Farewell) - MCR "What's the worst thing I could say? Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long and goodnight" In summary...this movie sucks. I'd like a do-over. But I suppose therein lies the lesson. |
