Hey, since the shiny new forum is locked up tighter than Gringotts I thought I'd say thank you here. Thanks Calan, and anyone else who was involved in writing and posting the FAQ! It has cleared up the few things still confusing me after plying now for a little while. |

Thanks! I didn't want discussion in the FAQ section itself, so it's locked. If there are comments or questions, please post them here or any other appropriate section on the forums. The FAQ is still in its early stages so expect updates. |

While I agree, it'll likely be useful for new players, rarely have I twitched so much in my life. :/ Why.. *twitch* "GM" *twitch*? DM! That being said, if it isn't already in progress or has been thought of, it may be an idea to add this IG.. Many people don't check the forums until after they've played on the server for a while. So adding it to the current FAQ sign or making a new may be an idea. |

Because "GM" is a -far- better term than the archaic "DM". Dungeon Master is a title stuck in the older days of, in my opinion, less refined roleplaying, when the game had just emerged from miniature gaming, and it was more about traversing (you guessed it) dungeons, killing monsters and racking up XP, and less about playing roles. Game Master is far more neutral, and I highly support the use of it, although I myself, out of habit, often use the term "DM". [/tangent. Hopefully.] As for the FAQs, I love them. They serve both as a very useful primer for new players, and for a nice refresher for veterans. I suggest we all read them; we may all have something to learn, that we forgot somewhere along the way. |

*Accepts the following as acceptable titles:* DM (if it's D&D) GM (any game) GOD aka Game Operations Director (any game) Storyteller (usually for White Wolf systems) |

DM (if it's D&D) GM (any game) GOD aka Game Operations Director (any game) Storyteller (usually for White Wolf systems) In the interest of furthering the spread of blatant megalomania on the server, I will hereby start referring to you as GOD. |

I don't know that I can say that it's to the point yet of being "in progress" but it's "planned." We have toyed with the idea of having them both on the forums and IG but I'm afraid that will be more work than it initially sounds to keep them both completely up to date. I think at this point the FAQ's on the forums, and it might move to IG later on. |

I'm fairly sure it already exists, but as long as there's a sign or notice pointing people to the forums for FAQ's and information the impetus is on them to actually do something about it. This takes the responsibility off you guys to keep two things updated. If they don't visit the forums, I see that as being their loss. The forums sure have made my gaming far more enjoyable! |

There is a mention of the forums on the signs, but it's a bit buried. |

When the site overhaul is complete, it'll be easier for people to join the forums again. That should help remove one current barrier of entry for people getting to the FAQs on the forums. |

I have a suggestion. How about we move the FAQs forum to the top of General, or at least 2nd, just under announcements? It might be hard for new forumites and players to notice it at its current placement, and I think it's the kind of thing that sort of works better if it's easy to see. |

FAQ has been moved to the bottom of "General." Opinions? |

Well, I still think it's more "important" than misc, OOC and "HP Originals" (i.e., that one comic that's obviously never updated. Why does that have it's -own- forum, again? >_>), and should be above them. But it's much more visible there. |

Because it has its own setting for restricted viewing privileges: members only. I don't think anyone is going to miss the FAQ there. It's right above the Server section and takes some emphasis as the final word in General. |

Agreed *re-joins his topic*. Looks like a good compromise to me. |
