I'm coming back to NWN soon cause my dad bought Diamond, and I'll have the luxury of a script generator. Since I didn't see this anywhere else on these forums, I wanted to make an NWN module discussion for those who wanna talk about their likes, dislikes, or general things about making a module if you ever made one. Share some cool scripts you've found, and if it goes over well, give advice to people who are new to module making. Disclaimer: I am not encouraging anyone to make a rival server to WOHP. I am encouraging good discussion about the system of module making and some cool scripts. I found this cool script once where if you went over to some butterflies, they'd become a dire bear. I edited it into making the butterflies turn into an invincible dragon called 'butterflies'. Haven't figured out how to keep it in the area though. The process of turning the dragon back into butterflies didn't work very well either. |

Frankly, I'm all for helping people out with making modules, but that's because I'm conspiring towards deceiving the scripters into helping me advance my own sinister agen- I mean, er.... Completely disregard everything I just said. Seriously, though. I see no reason why ANYONE should vote no to this. |

Meh, some people like it better when others figure things out for themselves. |

Insanity wrote: Anyndur wrote: ((Hurray for Off topic-ness )) How do you get off topic in an off topic forum? And Verita, what kind of ideas were you thinking? Scripts primarily, or just general ideas for a completely new module? Well, it was just to generally talk about module making in itself and the process of what works in the C++ system of making mods. So kind of a mix between scripts and ideas for a new mod. |

Scripting doesn't use C++, though =p It uses NWScript, which I'm told bears a slight resemblence to C++. I'd not know, though. I can't script in C++, and I've never tried. I really should, though |

(Morning Cheesecake!) Well, I heard from I think it was (gah, forgot the username) the guy who played Sean James Asherel that NW coding is pretty much C++. The only thing I can script on my own is text floating above an NPC. And even that's slipping my mind. |

As Adam said, they have similarities, but they're far from the same. |
