Farrah Fawcett has died of cancer. Those of use who are above the age of 30, or just happen to like classic television will remember her from Charlie's Angels.
Michael Jackson has died of heart failure. He was once a great singer, and a fantastic performer, before fame went to his head.
End of an era, really.

Yea, I just heard it on the news. May they find peace in their next lives.

I wish I knew more about Farrah, because I don't recall much about her. RIP nevertheless As for Michael Jackson, I wish people weren't so hard on him. RIP man

Michael Jackson will still be the icon he is today, even with his passing. It is a sad thing to see. Many big stars have lost their lives, and Michael is one of them. I wish his family the best in the recovery process and that my thoughts are with them. He may have done bad things for publicity, but he is still an icon.

I will be honest enough to say that I personally thought less than fondly of pretty much everything he did after releasing "Dangerous". I regret that fully today. As for his passing, well... it's sorta like hearing that someone died, a once-close friend who you drifted apart from. I feel kinda hollow about it. A big part of both my childhood and musical identity has died.

An end of an era, indeed. Two people who helped define the art and popular media of their generation and those which came afterwords. It is a loss to many, especially their fans and their personal families. I reserve my words and judgement on both of them, because that is not what this thread is for. And yes, I still consider "Off The Wall" by Michael Jackson a great album, no matter what music I listen to these days. It's a classic work by a popular music artist, and numerous singers and songwriters today would sell their limbs to come close to. And as for Farrah Fawcett... all I have to say is that I'm a straight male who grew up in the 1980s. *grins wickedly*
Requiem In Pax, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson.

Yeah, I just read that! No more Oxyclean pitching! Funnily enough, I was just talking about him the other day (because we were on the topic of pitching).

It's a great loss to his family, but I sincerely hope that other pitch men do not decide to imitate his screech.
