Just had to post that. And I'm going to miss going out to see fireworks tonight - or being able to see them from my backyard. Hopefully the ones we see here in a couple of days will make up for it.

Happy Canada Day! I'll never forget the fireworks show I saw over Niagara Falls on Canada Day years and years ago. Blew my little ten year old mind

Anyways, Happy Canada Day! 142 Years Strong!

Happy Canada Day, loved ones. I may be a day late with this post, but I made sure to announce it on the server yesterday. :p

I'm old. I don't do Canada Day celebrations any more. *shrugs* However, I did have a glorious chance to visit with some friends from far out of town, so that was celebration enough for me. *goes to get out my walker again, complete with Canadian flag war paint and a huge speaker system.*

To ShacadiaShay: Much like the United States of America, Jamaica, and Australia, Canada at one point of time was under British Rule. In the case of Canada, their separation from Britain was relatively bloodless and peaceful. In the end, Canada became their own country in 1867. The far more detailed and factual history (including some not very stellar moments in Canadian history) can be found here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_dayBelieve it or not, there ARE some Americans who consider Canada "the Fifty-Second State" if you ask them. Please note, that is a fault of an educational system which let them slip through, rather than an endemic sign of the American populace. And before you ask, yes I have been asked if I live in a high rise igloo. (Nothing like a New York state of mind... but that's another story entirely.) To Feargus: You may have bigger guns, but we are bigger, wider, and we are on top. Don't you forget it. Now get back to scrubbing out those collars! *flexes non-existent muscles on the internet*
