Facebook is evil. Isn't the point to collect as many "friends" as you can? Kind of like pennies in a jar?

No, that's MySpace. The point of Facebook is driving as many of your friends to homicide as possible by way of Farmville invites.

Ahh, gotcha. It just sounds evil. So it's gotta be Facebook.

Like any other popular technology, it's over-used. And like anything else on the internet, your 'private' information can make its way around. Still, it's a valuable networking tool, if used for what it was initially meant for.

It's like Ravenclaws dating Slytherins.

I've found people that I never would have ever been able to reconnect with had Facebook not been around. I've also kept in contact with people that I would have lost. So to me, that's what it's good for. I think I played a game once too, but -heck- no it wasn't FarmVille. ;)

Not happening, Dusk-Strider. I've disabled all invites for junk like that. I usually had at least ten farmville invites DAILY; it drove me nuts.

Yeah, I've hidden all external application notifications from mine. I prefer to pretend I live in the good old days when Facebook was just for keeping in touch with people. If I want to play a game, I'll play a real game.
