World of Harry Potter Forums :: View topic - Totally Random Things That Happen

Universe decided today was going to be an extra shitty Monday for me.

Woke up at 7 am to a phone call from my dad, who promptly informed me that my mom was in the hospital. He drove her there at 3:30 in the morning, since she was suffering from extreme chest pains. He's called me a few times since then, though I just found out a few minutes ago that she's on her way home. They confirmed it was not a heart attack, but she had the chest pain for eight hours straight and they have no idea what caused it. She's going to be seeing a specialist soon.

As if that wasn't enough, I was pulled aside earlier and told I won't be offered a summer position here at the library. Not for any failure on my part, but because of a combination of multiple large projects, and a restricted budget. It's the only job I've ever had that I actually look forward to doing when I wake up, so I was hoping to keep working here for a few more months. :\

I heard my dog's whine outside while near a window leading to where he usually chills. My nearest neighbor where I may hear their dog's faint little whine didn't have their dog out. So, I go out to get him and he wasn't out there. w. t. f. ghost chorkies!

Despite the fact I forgot about this morning's test until it was two in the morning, by which point I was quite tipsy and hadn't studied yet... I did better than I expected! Not great, but also not that far off from the other tests I've had in this class.

I was trying to sleep and it sounded like someone was trying to break in. When I looked it was a cat. I made that pstpst sound and he looked at me for about 45 straight seconds before bouncing away. I was earlier looking for cats to buy!

Haha, that reminds me. This morning when I was in bed I heard a massive catfight outside. Then my cat comes rushing in the window beside the bed and the other cat must have followed her because there was a 15 minute hissing and growling match from the safety of the windowsill. The other cat must have been right outside on the table. They were waking me up earlier than I wanted to be awake though, so my brain never actually figured out that if I picked my cat off the windowsill so the other cat couldn't see her then the noise might stop. XD

I think they gave me diet coke instead of coke when I ordered a drink today. :\ Not sure if my taste buds are just malfunctioning though.

So I logged out at about 6:00-6:30 in the morning and had to go to my mother's house to feed and let the cat in and stuff 'cause they're away. I haven't slept properly all damn week and I've been tired constantly. On the way home, while I'm stopped at a red light, some guy runs his car up along the side of mine (my mum's), scratching it up bad. Needs a new door and $*&!. Nobody was hurt, and I'm honestly mostly just surprised that I wasn't the one to cause anything stupid to happen, considering how tired I was.

Yeah he pulled over and we exchanged numbers and insurance stuff, so it's all good. I think he was more asleep than awake, which can be just as bad as being drunk really.
