Hometown:
London streets where she was discovered by a Professor, who she suspects was Dumbledor, but never found out exactly who it was. She has since been adopted and doesn't really spend any time at that house at all, preferring to spend time at school among her friends.

Heritage:
Pureblood wizard of the McBane line but she doesn't know any family and has yet to look. (Partially blaming this to the fact that she was abandoned or her parents died and she ended up on the street at a young age.)

Favorite School Subjects:
She enjoys all her classes except muggle studies. current more specific interests are charms and divination as she has tried to look into her past and her own memory to discover some of her earlier memories and possibly see what happened to her parents and herself when she was younger.

Interests:
Mariana is passionately devoted to obtaining as much knowledge as possible. She is willing to work to learn new spells(wand spells or otherwise) She has kept all her book from her first year to the most recent year(with the exception of Lockhart's books who she thinks is a bit to pompas for his own good and is surprised no one has made him swallow his own pride)

Physical Appearance:
Mariana is average hight for her age. red/auburn hair (that she is proud of and enjoys but doesn't try to let it show)
The most obvious feature is the grin that she makes on almost all occasions that has only emerged recently as she has started to get used to Hogwarts and the people there.

Possessions of importance:
-The only one that she has let anyone see SO FAR is an strip of fabric that looks like it could have been a coat or a jacket at some point.
-Her spell book.

Friends:
She has actually been well received at Hogwarts making quite a few friends including a new best friend and her first boyfriend since starting school!

Personality:
Generally positive. When she was on the streets she had to practice playing down the positive aspect of her nature. Since she started at Hogwarts she has been able to relax a bit more and let herself revert back to what her natural tendency is. Because of her life before Hogwarts she can at time laps back into the old nature and demeanor that she used to survive on the streets.

She can be extremely touchy feely at times. Some have thought that they were being hit on when it turns out later that she was just being friendly. This is in part because when on the street she was one of the few girls in her group that took care of herself and this ended up placing her in the position to oust the bastard that caused her the most suffering. On the flip side it also ended up causing the death of the only person that ever meant anything to her during that time as well...

As far as relationship... she isn't looking to rush into one. But the perks of having such can't be disputed ether...

Dueling Style:
Not to sure, she generally avoids duals. When traveling and collecting reagents for classes, assignments or her own personal use she tends to try to stack the odds in her favor as much as possible to simply avoid any unnecessary messes that may be possible if she did not.

Things She's doing when not in class:
- Trying to learn new spells where ever she can.

- Takes almost weekly trips into the inferni caves. Some say she has taken her study of the inferni a bit to serious. One who ran into her while in the caves noted the fury on the face of Mariana while she destoryed the inferni.

- Spends a bit more time in the library then most as she searches for rare or new spells. This has lessened as her studies have made new spells rarer and the chance of finding them in the library slim. She has started looking elsewhere for bigger libraries and other sources of spell knowledge.

- Enjoys exploring and finding new places she has never been to before. (Most recently it was the Quidditch world cup stadium!)

The Bloodline of Mariana McBane

Unknown - She was informed when she was brought to Hogwarts that she had a pureblood line but because she doesn't look at her family as actual family since she never knew her parents she hasn't yet taken any efforts to discover what her bloodline may hide.


Recent Events.(Tue Jan 22, 2008 2:51 pm)

Mariana during the last year took a month long tour and internship at the Ministry of Magic. During this internship she learned a bit more about the different departments and what it means to work in each one. Some she learned a lot about and others, because of security, she learned very little.

While there she did nose around a bit but has not said if she found anything interesting or otherwise.

One thing that did change about her after her trip and has shown in her daily routine is that her desire to find out more about her family has increased.

Shortly after the New Year, Mariana spoke with a few people and then Left Hogwarts for an unknown amount of time. Owls from here and there occasionally arrive addressed to specific people. Oddly enough even some normal letters postmarked from London and some even from the USA. (They always come from a Post office box located in Sunny Southern California.)

She has been seen back at school infrequently, usually researching one topic or another, or talking quietly with another student only to quiet up and excuse herself when someone walks up.

Other notes:

Although she always made sure she was dressed and groomed neatly, the quality of her clothing has recently increased. She is wearing the same style as before but the clothing looks to be made with finer materials. Also she is wearing a new necklace which she keeps under her blouse. On the rare occasion which it falls out or can be seen it appears to be what looks like a crest along with a ring that she has hanging on the silver chain.

Recent Events.(Tue Jan 05, 2010 1:48 am)

Mariana has recently returned from being gone. Apparently her trip ended up in the USA where she visited a few dig sites where ancient Indian settlements or ruins were. Each time she was looking for something but never seem to find enough information the satisfy her. When she visited a dig site she would always carry a black staff with her and she never really talked to anyone or gave much information about what she was looking for.

Around town however Mariana's interests where quite known. She finally has started taking interest in her lost family and has been looking for more information about them. A rumor led her to the States but now that she has returned it appears that the rumor was just a rumor.

With both knowledge and experience from traveling around so much Mariana has grown more mature but still has the friendly nature that she has always had. The stress of wanting to find more about her lost family and not finding anything does show sometimes however.
