Who Are You?
Who am I? Who are you? What makes us who we are? Is it our upbringing? Is it our environment? Personally, I think we're made out to be who we are by what we see. We emulate those around us. Those that we believe to be 'cool'. But what makes a person 'cool'? What deciding factors determine that one group of people are the 'popular' crowd? Can't it be just as easy to say that the 'outcast' group is the 'popular' crowd? What makes a person popular is their good looks, wealth and social status, and their funny personality. But these things are entirely objective. Beauty to the ancient Chinese is the art of foot-binding; a process that turns a woman essentially into a cripple so that she may have smaller feet. Wealth to the Zulu tribe in South Africa is measured by how many cattle one has. And humour is taken differently from person to person. What is funny to me, may not be funny to you. What makes you laugh may make others cringe. So you ask, who am I? Let me ask you in return. Who are you?

Riley Grant is the fourth born out of the five Grant children. He generally keeps himself rather clean and well-groomed. A gentle and kind spirit, Riley is eternally full of questions. If he's not asking them aloud, he's thinking them. His emotions are usually apparent across his ever-expressive eyes. Dark hair sits atop deep blue eyes and slightly too thick eyebrows, which are usually hidden. The most like their mother, Riley is clearly more sensitive than his brother, Dustin. However, should he feel that he's threatened, his fight instinct goes into hyper-drive. At a very young age, Riley was diagnosed with a very mild case of bipolar affective disorder. This means that he goes through periods of elevated energy, cognition, and energy followed by episodes of depression and lethargy. Riley, however, is usually very good with taking the medication he needs to keep from going into bouts of mania.
