Born into the Kazuma family, an old pure-blood family from Japan, Daisuke grew up in relative comfort. He was trained to use a katana as soon as he could walk, following old family codes, though due to a previous generation disagreeing with a former headmaster at the school for magic in Japan, the family had been sending their young wizards to Hogwarts - most of who ended up in Slytherin.
