She always had a sense of needing to prove herself to the school by excelling in her studies, regardless of her personal feelings. She hung around older students, asking them about their studies, and copying their notes so she could learn materials past her year in advance so she would have it easier in the future.
This led her to follow a group of seventh years around during her first few years of Hogwarts, leading her on adventures both mundane and dangerous. She continued following them, gaining experience in dueling and knowledge in both runes and arithimancy. She excelled at charms, earning the praise of Professor Flitwick along the way.
However, on one of the adventures she was struck with a curse that left her weak, and because of this, she was forced to stay at St. Mungo's as a long term patient. She withdrew from Hogwarts for a few years, but she continued her studies and when the curse was lifted from her at last, she readmitted herself to Hogwarts as a Seventh Year student.
During the Battle at Hogwarts she found herself escorting some first years out of harms way, when she found herself face to face with an assailant, barely able to hold her ground before she was forced to flee before taking a hit in her leg, leaving her with a limp she has today, but she forces herself to hide.
