Markus was born unto a wealthy pure-blood family of wizards, and witches, ever since he could walk his family has put pressure on him as the only son and heir to their family fortune to become a success, and to become a prestigious wizard one day. His father, a man of business rarely had time, nor even cared to put effort towards his son's raising, and left it mostly to his mother, who truly didn't want children, however, did not want to leave the family without an heir. As such, his mother was strict, even cruel at times to Markus, always pushing him to be better, enough was never enough.
At about 8 Markus's father was murdered by a unknown wizard one night after his father caught the wizard breaking in and trying to steal a precious family heirloom. Slaying his father with one of the unforgivable curses, he fled with the heirloom, leaving a confused, and panicking family in his wake... The wizard was never caught. Despite not having much connection to his father, this shook Markus to his core, the loss of his father to such a brutal and swift death changed something in the young child, making him more determined, and yet... Darker, even for his age, angered. He hid is sorrow, and his anger beneath a mask of cheerful childishness and has kept it such through the past two years, yet he brooded and deeper down his anger grew, and so did his pain.. Something in him had always desired to impress his father, to know him, to finally grow a connection to him and that chance had been taken away.. Leaving a hollow spot in him that he could not fill...
Regardless, the remaining two years were harsher than the others on Markus, with the loss of her husband, his mother put even more pressure on him, and became cold to Markus, she expected a lot of him, and her expectations only grew.. Once he was 10, eventually, a invitation to hogwarts arrived and his mother swiftly prepared him and sent him off, getting rid of him, and sending him to begin his education.. Embittered, Markus harbors a immense grudge against his mother, and without the love of parents it was a struggle to Markus to keep his cheerful, childish attitude up, and its a struggle still, but he does so, burying his painful emotions as deep as he can..
At Hogwarts, the sorting hat did not take long to choose him to Slytherin, which Markus felt fitting.. For he had a lot of ambition, determination, and desire to grow strong, to become great.. At any cost.
Update: Markus is nearing his third year of hogwarts now, and is often seen practicing a multitude of many spells in the dueling room, or working in the potions room over his cauldron, brewing up various tonics and elixirs.
