Draco petrifying Harry and then kicking him in the face was BEAUTIFUL!

I thought Bellatrix was the most amazing character by 10000%! I loved her acting. Also, that evil little boy. He has to evil in reality as well. Gosh, he was good. And really, I thought Malfoy played his part very well, being scared and aggitated and all.

Ahhh, what an amazing flick!! I loved the Quidditch match after Ron took the fake Felix Felicis potion. And when Malfoy said "Think I might jump off the Astronomy Tower this year." I laughed so hard thinking about Sierra! And my mom looked at me like I was crazy. And then when Harry calls himself a tosser in front of the muggle chick....hahaha! *high fives Helen*
My only two complaints are...wtf happened to Rufus?! And, I thought Slughorn would be a bit more jolly. And by jolly, I mean round.

Oh yah!! And the scene where Katie Bell puts on the cursed necklace gave me all kinds of shivers and chills!

Yeah, it was really creepy!
And my dad managed to miss it while getting something!
... in fact, I was the only one who didn't miss a single part. >-> Lol. My parents both missed parts!

Agreed on both points, I expected Slughorn to be fatter. And Katie Bell creeped me out, that was awesome.

I thought the movie was enjoyable. I didn't actually see the 5th movie, so I couldn't compare to the last one, but it was good. It was funny, which made it better. As Ree said to me, it did feel sort of like a transition-movie (whatever you call it) to the last one, which it was, so... cool. I loved Bellatrix in it, she was awesome. I'm not sure about Narcissa though. I personally imagined her to be more slender, younger and prettier for some reason. But it all works out. I really liked Draco in this movie (and his outfit stood out for me a lot). I also laughed when he said he'd jump out the Astronomy Tower, thought of Sierra. I did have a few minor complaints. Like some people said, Harry wasn't paralyzed during the Tower scene. I also vaguely remember Dumbledore mentioning Ariana in the cave while drinking the potion, but not in the movie. >.> But anyway, enjoyable.

Reebober wrote: I adored Lavender Brown... her drawing the heart on the glass window on the train made me lol so hard!!!! And then her sitting at the table, brooding with the spoon! I loved it! Lavender and Sierra are rather interchangeable, aren't they? But in addition to the tower comment (which I had to explain to my friends), I also thought of Sierra a couple of other times - like when McLaggen threw up on Snape's shoes. (I think my other 'sierra thought' was during the potions class, but I can't remember for sure....) They actually picked Hero separately from his uncle being Voldy.... At least according to IMDB. But yeah, every time I saw him in the trailers, I kept going "Ooooh, I want to see NOW!" The bridge was mentioned in the book, but the scene itself wasn't described. I think I'd rather have that scene than the one with the Muggle Prime Minister, actually. Jim Broadbent (Slughorn) was excellent - I didn't even realize until the end that he was missing the moustache. Rufus is in the next movie - I can't remember who it is (someone connected to Dr Who maybe?), but I just saw something with an actor and he specifically mentioned that he was playing Rufus. I think I also saw something somewhere that said they were going to start the next movie with the funeral? And they might have cut out the Dursleys due to lack of time. I'm sure that's what happened with a lot of scenes - I want the dvd to come out!

Oooh, I hope they start the next movie with the funeral! That was honestly one of my favorite chapters from the book and I was really disappointed when they didn't show it.

My thoughts: Positives: 1. The acting as much better in this movie. Harry with the luck potion was very wonderful. Ron under the love spell was just excellent. 2. The dialog and attention to detail was funny and better. It didn't seem as much stock-dialog as before. It made the two and a half hours go by a lot better. 3. Bellatrix as just awesome with her hissing. 4. The landscape scenes from the astronomy tower in terms of photography were stunning. (Especially at the end) (Ok, it's me, I have to make a comment about the movie photography , LOL) 5. D's death made me cry. 6. Lavender's scene on the train- great Negatives: 1. No Dursley's and no backstory about Lily. (The whole beginning was changed.) 2. While I didn't mind the Hogwarts 90210 feeling- it got to be a bit too much for me. Sure, they are 16 but let's get back to the real plot please! I wanted to see more... 3. No mention of Dumbledore's Army, and only one tiny shot of Neville (Ok, I like him, probally the only one who does, but I do.) 4. Would have liked more after D's death, it was getting epic and then.. bam. the credits. They should have made it 3 hours in my mind so they could have added a little more umpth, i feel. 5. More about the Half Blood Prince (the title) and Snape! It really felt like a transition movie, so that's how I'm going to see it. If the dialog was like the 5th movie and prior, I would have really disliked this movie. That's what saved it for me. Let's hope the next movie they don't cut so much out. I guess I'm just too much of a purist.

They cut out a lot of the previous actors. You rarely saw Neville, and pushed him back.
I would, as Seril mentioned, have liked to seen the funeral. They better put it in the next one. The rest of the movie was purely amazing. Going to see it again.

Yea, I can't remember if the funeral was in the 6th or 7th book. But I think the funeral would have given me better closure.

I've been annoyed with a TV station. Keeps advertising that after the release of the HBP that they know the Harry Potter Saga Ends. They think HBP is the last one! Stupid people.
