Owing to Rakashak's observation and rhetoric skills, here's a disclaimer. My use of the gender pronoun "she" is simply out of simplicity, and does not in anyway refer to female characters over male. Players with male characters are just as welcome to post as us others. Basically, imagine your WoHP character (or characters) in the three Houses she does not belong to. How'd she fare in them, given her general personality? I thought this might be an interesting exercise. Feel free to leave out any details you think are a bit FOIG, but this might be sort of fun. I'll start with Mary Maywell, who's actually a Ravenclaw. Most of what can be read here is pretty much in her bio anyways, so I'm not very worried about OOC info spilling out. I think she'd make an -awful- Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. She's insecure, and I still have yet to find out if she's able to stand up for her values in the face of adversity. While her loyalty has yet to be tested, I dread the results. And, she's really not that big on honesty, unless it serves the greater picture. I doubt she'd be a good member of any of those Houses. As for Slytherin, well, I think she'd be excellent. She'd probably be downright cruel, but outwards, she'd probably appear the same. She's proven to have a penchant for gaining secrets through her trusting demeanor, which she could harness to her full advantage, and she'd probably cheat her heart out both in romance and friendship. Good thing she's not a Slyth, I guess. So, what say ye? |

Since it says: "What if your character was not in her current house", I'll say that my female Character, Syrra, would make a good Ravenclaw, she has intelligence that she hardly uses. (Which has nothing to do with the fact that she's a Side Character.) And as for Nath, if you replace the she with a he, he would be best in Hufflepuff. And I think everyone knows that. >.> |

I was hoping not to get arrested on that. I originally wrote he/she all the way, which read far too messy. Then I changed it to alternating between he and she, which read very confusing. I tried to get rid of gendered pronouns altogether, which simply didn't work. I thought about adding a disclaimer, but.... ahem. I thought it really wouldn't be necessary. Bah! You've foiled my plans again, Rakashak-Man! But I will have my vengeance! One day my sexist use of gender pronouns will DESTROY THE WORLD! MUAHAHAHA. Also, I'm adding a disclaimer. |

What if, indeed. A very serious question. Paul wouldn't be in any other house, so I'm not going to waste ym time posting in your dumb thread! *Is rude* I actually quite like this thread idea, though... Ignore me =p |

*twitches at the Political Correctness of the his/her/their debate* *twitch* ... *twitch* ... Liss could honestly have been in any of the three other houses, had Slytherin not been available. She's a Slytherin though. Kalara would have been in Slytherin had she not been in Hufflepuff. She'd be a completely different person now too. Elizabeth.... *twitch* *ignores Adam as requested* |

Let's see, if my PC wasn't in their house he would be outside? ...at Hogwarts? ...somewhere secret, that isn't in his house? Though in all seriousness. I'm unsure of what house they would be in. All my PCs are put into a house because they follow the majority if not all the aspects of the house. Otherwise they would be in a different one, having very little to no aspects of the other house. Basically being a 'Peter Pettigrew' of the house. |

He/She? I don't think so: What if your character was not in he/she current house? I don't think that would really work either... |

Hmm well if Pedro wasn't a Slytherin, a ravenclaw would not work, he his not the smartest guy, hufflepuff well hehehe a big no, its just not him. Maybe Gryffindor only cause in gryffindor he would still do his pranks, i guess would have to take him his taste for dark magic, and well his twisted mind? He can be a good guy, but he his also a very naughty person. Maybe he would be boring there, he his really a slytherin. |

Let's see, for Alexander May... Slytherin: Wouldn't fit in well really due to his general good nature, I suppose maybe if he had fallen with a bad crowd in his first year anything's possible but generally he's not particularly ambitious.... Ravenclaw: Well he's not got the natural talent or ability to fit in comfortably in Ravenclaw so he'd find it difficult, but he's a hard worker which may to some extent make up for this. Gryffindor: Well, he's pretty brave and headstrong and such. I can't really remember the attributes of Gryffindor besides bravery... |

I'll just cover my two Huffle characters... Amber, I think.. if she had not been in Hufflepuff, she would have gotten into Gryffindor... Not explaining my reasons, however. And Evelyn... Ravenclaw. How you seen how much this girl reads? >-> |
