I'm trying to come up with an example that would explain without giving away anything..

No matter how "poetic" I would want to make a character, or give them a way with words, that will always be limited by my own ability.

If I decide I want my character to be "smart," that will be directly limited by 1) how smart I am and 2) what I think smart is.

If I want to play a character that is just adored by all the women, but don't understand the ladies, I will find it impossible to RP that character.

Likewise, there are aspects of Liss (that I won't post here) that are what they are because when I attempted to RP something the way I thought she should be RPd, I was incapable of doing so. Sometimes this happens without the player even knowing that it's happening, in fact I would guess it's more often that way. This is the reason though that characters will always have aspects of their players.

That said, there -are- also aspects that I have surfaced in my characters that are so -not- me that I can't even explain it, or where it came from.

Honestly, I can't get into a character without having the same mindset. That's why you guys never see me with any inherently evil or rude characters. I've never been able to separate myself from my characters unless I'm power gaming and not role playing.

But I blame that on being very self oriented.
