See if he can update any of his graphics drivers, I had the same problem a while back and that fixed it.

Does he have Vista? If he does, run it in compatibility mode. |

That may be the case. A lot of problems I had with games and Vista were easily solved by setting them to run in admin. mode. |

You have to run it in admin mode indeed. I used to be able to run it without the compatibility mode, but after a while, it kept crashing and i wasn't able to start it, so I ran it in compatibility mode and it worked..So..Maybe it acts different on each computer?
