I think maybe the Riddikulus spell is bugged or I just don't get it, when i cast the spell at anything, nothing happens, doesn't it work on people? or creatures? I'm confused

As in the books(and the movies, FWIW), the Riddikulus spell is meant to be used on boggarts only. It should reduce the boggart into something at least less alarming, if not quite as amusing as Snape with a fluffy hat. I've never tried it on a classmate, myself, or another creature, but I wouldn't expect it to do anything...

Can the Boggart be anywhere, or is it in a certain place?
