Is there anything going on with regards to Quidditch at the moment? As far as I can see none of the House teams even seem to be around.

And if not is anyone interested in starting something? I want to give it a go.

Ummm... you have to have a Quidditch team captain for that... <.<

The reason Quidditch is little more than a nice RP position for your character is that when you want to have two House teams duke it out on the Pitch you'll need fourteen people to be on at the same time. Considering RL and timezone differences that isn't likely to happen.

Ravenclaw has Jack Amesworth as a Captain, and we all know JB already spends most of his time as a DM. Jackie's player has been on sporadically, as well as myself. I can't speak for Seril here, but all in all we're busy people, and setting up a game between houses simply asks for too much effort and coordination.

I would like Quidditch to be more "alive" again, but I rarely see seven people of the same house on, let alone seven Quidditch players wearing the same colors. Perhaps a match could be achieved if a portion of the team, such as the beaters, were to be automated through NPCs or simply RPed to be present. Perhaps some of the DMs could jump in to fill the gaps that are present within the teams, if present.

That's just my two Knuts on the matter, but please feel free to keep on thinking about it and coming up with fresh suggestions. Who knows? Maybe we'll find a way to make it work out. I would certainly hope so.

You don't have to wait for official positions/teams. :) Pick-up games are a blast, too! Anyone is free to RP the organization of an unofficial match.

Because we can't get full teams on at once, actually games are -usually- implied, while it's practice that's RPd. That's not always true, sometimes games are played with less than full teams, and it's the rest of the team that's either implied, or just ignored that they are missing.

I'd personally love to see Quidditch start back up, and no, you don't need to be a team captain to get stuff going. In fact, getting stuff going is an excellent way to [possibly!] become team captain. Even if not that, just throw some games together!

There is a new quid system that is partly installed but not in place yet, but I haven't spent time on it because of the utter lack of interest in Quidditch. If that changes at all, I'll put the new system in.

Well IC, my char isn't even on the team yet, but OOC I wouldn't mind giving organising things a go. I'll make a post to see how much interest there is. :)

Your character doesn't have to be on a team to organize a game IC, he/she just needs to find enough people that are interested (And they don't have to be on any house teams either).

As with most things on the server...

You want it, go do it! Learning the awesome cosmic power to pull an enemy's face through the eye of a needle? Yeah... That's a bit hard to do. Putting together a Quidditch game (or even a bunch of them)? Great! Get to it! Let the DMs know, too.

Time isn't "wasted" on things that no one has an interest in doing. If there is serious interest, then let's hear about it.

If nothing else, grab Seril and use him to hit the Bludgers. He's got a tough head!
