So...I want to make my first Male character on wohp..but..I'm not sure what he looks like. I can't decide if he'll be slender and elegant or buff and masculine...annnnd I can't decide on his hair color and all that either. I tried looking a pictures to see if any of them would inspire me but nada. So feel free to provide input..post pictures for possible appearances, whatever. |

What's his personality? And if you don't know that then it seems like you've just decided to make a male character without actually having any inspiration for one. You don't seem to have decided on anything. You'll just get bored if you cobble together a random set of traits. |

well He'll be soft spoken at first, disciplined most of the time, meaning he won't be going around causing any mischief like say..Jack or Arlie (love you guys!) then as he gets older and more confident, he'll become more masculine but still soft spoken when it comes to romance, the kind of guy that will walk up to a girl he likes that he's never met before and offer her a flower as he whispers something sweet into her ear |

Important question to ask yourself: Will he start as a halfling, become an elf, and then become a human; or will he start as a dwarf, become a human, and then become a half-orc? |

I think the best characters develop out of the simple ones. Overly complex or "unique" characters very often end up going nowhere, while the simple ones develop. Not -always- true, but I do know it can't be said that there needs to be a unique inspiration. In fact, other than basic personality traits and a bit of (reasonable) character history, to create a "normal" character is usually what I strongly suggest. They are the characters that gain a life of their own. |
