Got a question, if a character put on clothes that basically covered his entire body from head to toe, and if they're wearing a hood and they RP that the hood is covering their face or they're also wearing other things to cover their face, along with the character also changing his voice to make him sound different, then wouldn't that mean that technically IG nobody can recognize them? I was actually starting to wonder that cause I couldn't remember if that was another rule for the server. But it should actually make sense.

I guess it depends on whether anyone is paying close attention to you. I think you usually have to make a Bluff check for an inspected disguise.

Well it's like even in RL if someone covered themselves up completely to where nobody can see them and they change their voice, then they wouldn't know who it is. Or if it's someone who can't tell the difference between that persons voice and someone else' voice, then they wouldn't need too.

Personally I don't see why it shouldn't could be done. I wouldn't necessarily count on it necessarily working on professors, however. They totally cheat.

I don't see how anyone even professors would know.

Professors would most likely ask a student concealing themselves in that manner on school grounds to remove the face covering, if only for their own inspection. School security, and all that. :P

Someone might recognise your walk or the voice disguise might not be good enough or something else might be dodgy about the disguise. That's why you usually have to make a roll to ensure that the disguise was successful.

TBH I'd prefer to use RP for things like lies and disguise, rather than dice rolls. There's no skill to oppose a bluff check that takes into account how well you know the person. It's better to role-play the disguise and the detective work.

No matter what, you can never hide physical traits. That would require an immense amount of transfiguration / potions.

A person's physical build / features is distinguishing enough for the character. However a voice change, eye color change, would help complicate the disguise by throwing off the thought of who may be hiding.

A hood covering the face is generally a sign that whoever's behind it is intentionally hiding from someone or something. Whatever it is, the disguise can't really stay on for long. At least during class hours anyway -- In which case the professor will ask the student to reveal themselves and they will either choose to obey, or refuse. By that point the disguise will have been blown and then the whole school will know. Even after a new disguise is made. It's a vicious cycle, really :\.

BUT it's just something to think about.

Here's the established server policy on this:

Characters are assumed to be recognizable, even if their avatar is covered head to toe. It is assumed that they aren't covering their face. However, if it is specifically emoted that they are attempting disguise, then the disguise is assumed to be hiding their identity, but yes to a point. What the point is depends on the RP. Whether it's a roll, or flat out RP, is up to the players involved- but this should be based on common sense.
