Perhaps just encourage people to roleplay appropriate reactions to said relationships? I know it isn't entirely uncommon for kids to date outside their age group, and I also know it isn't uncommon for said kids to be picked on or praised, depending on whether they're older or younger. Younger kids are likely to hit on older ones if they're of that mindset, and older kids (at least on the mod) are usually taken anyway, unless they're unpopular or for some other reason choose to remain single, so if in the former case they might resort to dating below their age, and if discovered could be called such things as cradle-robber by others of their age.
Of course, this would require knowing their year...but that's why I always check class and levels before entering the mod, so I know the approximate age of everyone.

Mmm, that's a good idea. I should do that.
Though on the subject of role-playing, I'm suprised there wasn't much reaction to the whole thing with Sam (not that I know whether it's true or not). You'd have thought there would be.....

Some of the non-reaction might be that people are only just finding out?
(If this is the Sam/Natalie thing that Natalie was babbling about in the Library last night.... *really isn't sure what's going on*)

And I have no idea what's going on either...

I really don't either. I just remember it because Bren was having doubts about dating kiddie-reg on this same subject.

I have been wondering this for awhile... How do you roleplay when someone moves up a year while someone else stays there current year.

Another question nearly as old as the mod itself.
Some people play brief, or not-so-brief absences for their characters to explain having fallen behind. People have come up with some pretty creative solutions. But the answer is, you just have to wing it.

A whole shelf of time-turners fell over one day

Sorry to bump this post but I've a few questions...I'm new to the server en all .
Starting out as a first year, I'e decided to use the halfling skin...just wont to know if it is possible to change skins as we "grow up" like mentioned earlier?
Also, whats the average player number on the server? Hogwarts seems kinda empty to me... on that I would say the entire module looks very well scripted.

You could pester Nikblade and see if he'd be willing to alter your character's skin with Leto, or whatever. Quote: Also, whats the average player number on the server? About twenty during the day, falling to a steady zero during the night, GMT+10ish.

Broken_Gunblade wrote: possible to change skins Yes, it's possible to do that. Several people have done that, in fact. Leto isn't required, as there is a fully functioning appearance-changer in the DM lobby. Just ask a DM to do it when one is available, and off you go. Broken_Gunblade wrote: whats the average player number on the server?
The server population jumps around alot. Sometimes there's 26 people on
when all the other "big" servers have gone temporarily quiet. Sometimes
the server is barren and lifeless. It fluxuates, but I don't see it completely
empty often. There's usually at least one or two people on at all times.
Welcome to WoHP. Don't ask me any questions, though. There's a good
chance I'll freak out and bite your head off for possibly disagreeing with...
... anything I have to say, really. ; )

Wouldn't using the DM appearance changer mess up Restor though? I'm pretty sure that reverts you to your original racial appearance type, not the model you were using before you changed it. This makes me think you'd be better of with a total remake or, if it's possible, a DM race changing wand so as to avoid the screwing up via restor.
Just a point I wanted to bring to the discussion.
Obviously I can't test this out because I lack for the skill to replicate the script, people on which to test my theory and the motivation to acquire both these things. *Turns to Drado for an explanation about whether he's right/wrong/part way there/whatever*
