| Post subject: | NWN spells |
Someone told me that some NWN spells aren't available to learn after I discovered that I couldn't cast magic missile without learning it first and it wasn't in my spellbook like the other first level spells. Does anyone have a list of NWN spells that are unable to be learnt? I couldn't find one on a quick forum search. I just don't want to end up taking Sorceror spells that I then can't use. Thanks. |

Your OP doesn't make it clear, but I'm going to assume that you play a wizard. If that's the case, then there's no "sorcerer" spells you can't learn. Their spell lists are identical. |

Sorry, I didn't make it clear. I'm a Sorceror and hence I only get a certain number of spells at level up and can't learn any more from scrolls like Wizards can. But some NWN spells you have to research the in game spell from your in game first year spellbook and cast the spell from a scroll before it counts as being learnt in game and before you can cast it at all. For example magic missile, which I don't have in my in game first year spellbook, so I can't create a spell scroll to learn off even if I took the spell at level up. Someone told me that there were some NWN spells that you could not learn to cast in game via spellbooks. I wanted to know if there was a list of them somewhere so that I didn't take a spell on level up that I would never be able to actually cast. |

I haven't heard of spells not being able to be found -somewhere-. Especially not something like Magic Missle. However, if you ever do encounter a spell that is like this, and you can't ever learn it, just do "/e relevel". It will relevel you one level, allowing you to take different spells. Other than that, all I can say is try to compile a list yourself of any spells you find that do not come with an In-Game version and a DM might be able to help you by either providing you with the scroll itself, or RP leading up to the learning of the spell. |

There are some spells that are not available in the current craft set. As the current crafting system is temporary, there is no list of which aren't available. We are very close to putting in the new craft set, and when we do, all spells will be craftable somehow. |
