Is there any way the source for WOHP can be released? I'm sure other members of the community would be happy to keep the torch going.

This server, in it's various guises, has died on at least one other occasion, possibly twice. I believe this server WILL be back at some point.

But not run by me, as I have no coding knowledge.

Very early versions of the module are available online. I don't have a link and I'm honestly not interested in finding one. We're talking about 8 years ago. Calan made a statement that he's not interested in releasing his version of the module, as it's not as straightforward as simply giving the necessary data to someone else, but he'd be the one to talk to about any kind of up-to-date version.


This may be true, but a question worth asking is whether NWN is the right media for it to do a comeback.

Perhaps, perhaps not. It's difficult to say with everyone holding their IP's with a death grip these days. Perhaps the only dev that openly promotes modding their IP's is Bethesda, sadly all of their games are single player only.

Large companies don't want to make a game that can theoretically be played and expanded forever by the players, especially ones with niche interests, because that would impede money flow. NWN happened on accident, so did things like Minecraft. Marketing is horrible.

I know it happened once before the nikblade version, even though it was way before things got as beautiful it did, just took one person to believe and love it for it to get it in his hands, just needs another... Sure this time it wont be meh was only a year of my blood sweat and tears, it will be way beyond that trivial amount, but maybe after another few they wont want to see the work not only them but a community slaved over, if not for actual help but world fleshing help at least someone will say hey... Someone besides me loves this and sends it where it needs to go... It could happen, specially I had doubts before a person that holder didn't even like got it did, and it became greater yet again happened... But I am just on on-looker, what do I know?

Every single Harry potter related game to date has not topped this one. And I don't know if this is true but i feel like i am the only one who still stresses and agonizes over the shut down of the server.

I would give or pay anything to have the server back or at the very least gain the module file to play on my own.

Seriously every single game about this universe always has Daniel Radcliffe in it and its making me sick to my stomach.

If this game truly isn't coming back then Calan may I implore you for the module file? I will pay good money for it if i must because there is no other harry potter game in this entire universe that i would rather play. I do recall you saying that there would be no way that the server would be down unless windows couldn't support nwn anymore. then it shut down a year later.

I'm sorry if i sound desperate but I just can't remain silent about it anymore because My search for a game similar to this one has proved futile and I felt tortured and had to reach out and say something.

You're certainly not alone. I played off and on over the years and I would love to hop back in and get my wife playing with me. If we were able to acquire the module I would happily host it for the community(Not enough time to GM and work on it, but could at least provide the hosting environment to keep the server online)
