OOC: Alright, this is something I have been trying to do for a while now. My original intent was to make this a weekly newspaper, but considering how much work it was just to get this first edition out, well, we will have to see.
Kudos to multiple people for helping me get this started, including Seril for helping me get the idea proposed and approved, skullcleaver for idea generation and the title, bitexme for idea generation, JB for idea generation and putting up with interviews (Along with pushing me to keep working on it!), and multiple other people for ideas and support. Thanks guys. Feel free to post here RP relating to reading or talking about the paper. Please feel free to PM me comments including article ideas and even full on articles. I have been thinking about putting an opinion section in, so if you send me IC comments or responses I will probably put them in the next edition.

*A large picture of Hogwarts Castle set against the night sky is on the front of the Paper*Thank you for picking up the Hog's Heart! Here at the Hog's Heart, we feel that student's shouldn't have to wade through numerous articles in those outsider newspapers about things we don't really care about before we find that article on Hogwarts that all of our friends are talking about. We have decided to fix that. So read along with us, and learn about all of those wild and wacky things that happen around your school while you are in asleep, or in class, or asleep in class! Welcome to the real Hogwarts!Page 2Professor Snape becomes Headmaster! In a surprising turn of events this week, Professor Snape, Head of Slytherin House and Potions Master, became the acting Headmaster of Hogwarts. Reports are in that Professor McGonagall, the previous headmaster before Professor Snape, was escorted off of school grounds by Dolores Umbridge, Deputy Minister of Magic and Director of Werewolf Safety. Whether this was an escort or an arrest has not been made clear. One eyewitness to this event said that there were several members of the London Academy of Magic present as well.
Following closely on the heels of this event an attack was made on a large group of Hogwarts students by several large elemental creatures. These creatures were found roaming the halls by several students, who then led the creatures to the Entrance Hall where a large group of students had congregated and the creatures were destroyed. Several students were sent to the Hospital Wing during this attack, including Hufflepuff Seril Kane, and Ravenclaw Rowan Theirin. All injured students involved were healed by Madam Pomfrey. After the students were injured, Prefects Jinx Sinclair and Nathaniel Rhomas herded students off to their Commons.
Rumors abound as to the source of these Elemental creatures. One rumor floating around the school is that these creatures, whose bodies disappeared shortly after each one was slain, disappeared in a similar fashion as several London Academy of Magic students who have been sighted in the school as well. The actual source of these creatures has not been confirmed as of yet.
~*~Spell of the Week~*~ImperviusPronunciation: im-PUR-vee-us
The Impervius Charm makes an object repel outside substances including, but not limited to, water. The vocal portion of this spell is latin. The latin term "impervius", is most often translated as impassable.
*There is a large magical photograph of a hand holding a wand here, the hand slowly demonstrating the wand movements for the spell*Page 3The Conjur Club*A very well done handdrawn picture of Jack Amesworth graces this page. Jack is in the middle of conjuring a large tent, of which only the outlines can be seen*As one of Hogwart's only currently running student organizations, Seventh year Ravenclaw Jack Amesworth's Conjur Club is a perfect representation of what a student run organization should be. Amesworth's near endless patience, combined with his passion for teaching make his Conjur Club go beyond a mere group of students, and indeed go beyond even what many classes can achieve. While the Conjur Club welcomes members of any age and learning, the last meeting, to which the writer attended, was focused on the infinite potential of Conjur, rather than merely performing the classroom function of teaching students to Conjur. Professor Flitwick, who attended his first meeting of the Conjur Club, and Mr. Amesworth began the meeting by encouraging students to show off some of their own work on conjurs. This led to a few very interesting and surprising conjurs, one of which was an easel conjured with a painting already painted on it, by Kris Marner. Another Ravenclaw student, Rowan Therein, was inspired to learn how to conjur her own umbrella after attending a Conjur Club meeting.
When asked about the history of his Conjur Club, and why he decided to start it, Jack Amesworth had several things to say. Amesworth said that he came up with the idea after talking to Professor Flitwick, which he does regularly as the Professor's classroom assistant. He said that he wanted a place where people could refine their skills and delve into the art more thoroughly, perhaps even past where the classroom could go. Amesworth said that he started the club off with summoning charms, such as Accio, because of the close relationship between Conjur and Accio. Amesworth also said that his Conjur Club has had three meetings so far.
"There has been significant improvement in all of the members. Even the ones with great natural ability have refined their skills." Jack Amesworth had this to say when asked about the success of his Conjur Club.

Book Signing Ends With ProphecyProfessor Lockhart's recent book signing in the Entrance Hall was a resounding success, although opinion varies as to who was the more impressive, Professor Lockhart, or Professor Trelawney. Professor Lockhart, winner of awards such as the Order of Merlin: Third Class and five time winner of Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award, is a well-known author including works such as his autobiography, Magical Me, and multiple required school textbooks.
Hogwarts House Elves set up a table and chair in the Entrance Hall where Professor Lockhart had his book signing. A line quickly formed in front of the table once Professor Lockhart showed up on the scene. Professor Lockhart proceeded to sign many books that the students had, along with recounting stories of some of his favorite exploits that are recorded in said books. A particular favorite of his was the story about the Twenty-foot tall Ghoul that he defeated.
*There are several magical photographs here of Lockhart signing books, including one particularly good shot where he is holding up a copy of Magical Me, his cheery grin matched perfectly by the picture of him on the cover of the book.*Partway through Lockhart's book signing, Professor Trelawney appeared on the scene, quickly gathering a small crowd of students as she positioned herself on the floor of the Entrance Hall near Professor Lockhart and began looking into her crystal ball. With her great skill in Divinations, Professor Trelawney was able to quickly summon up images of dark clouds in her crystal ball. These clouds began raining drops of blood, and she knew immediately that Professor Lockhart was in trouble.
*There is a photograph here of Trelawney sitting on the floor of the Entrance Hall peering into her crystal ball, several students sitting on the floor in a semi-circle in front of her*Professor Trelawney rushed over to Professor Lockhart's aid. Through a combination of quick thinking and the fore-sight to have the perfect charm on hand, Professor Trelawney was able to offer a charm that Professor Lockhart could wear around his neck that would help to ward off evil spirits. Professor Lockhart blanched at wearing the charm, causing Professor Trelawney to see a spirit that had possessed Professor Lockhart and was trying to take control of him. She quickly began throwing magical crystals at Professor Lockhart, who retreated under this assault, ending the eventful book signing. It appears that Professor Trelawney was successful in exorcising the spirit from Professor Lockhart.
*There are several photographs of Lockhart and Trelawney. One is depicting Trelawney offering a grubby-looking necklace to Lockhart. Another is a crystal clear picture of Trelawney throwing small crystals at Lockhart and chasing him around the picture.*
