This is an OOC post on behalf of Sierra's and Eric's players about some RP that happened about a year and a half ago- the wedding between Eric Goodrich and Sierra Tillery that resulted in the retirement of the characters.

It has been requested that this RP be reversed as to un-retire the characters. The DMs have discussed and agreed that since this is mostly a correction to what should be IC to begin with, to allow this edit.

Most players at this point will either not have experienced this RP, not remember, or not be affected by it. Eric and Sierra were married as the characters retired- however the realities behind the reasons for this RP were very OOC- a way to retire the characters as a solution to OOC tensions between several players. The reasons that required the retirement are no longer an issue, and this is being done to "correct" RP as it was very OOC in the first place. Further OOC details need not be discussed.

Please RP as if the wedding did not happen. They are not married, nor have they been married. To find out exactly what happened since they were gone, speak with them IG.

It's come up from time to time. Tom and Eric even met at the Leaky Cauldron a couple of times to catch up . But I understand why you're doing this

Do you have to get unmarried to come back? If your chars are 17 then they'd be of legal age (presuming 17 is the legal age for marriage in wizarddom. It is when you come of age).

Emily and Eric were engaged a long time before Eric and Sierra ever got together.

I've spoken to Calan and I understand the reasoning for this RP Edit, I'm fine with it.

The DMs stance on this is that it was PC RP to begin with- and since we understand the reasonings behind everything, including the OOC factors, we are ok with it's reversal. (Yes, this is rare, and was a specifically unique situation.) Several characters will be affected in OOC manners, but that was/is true without it reversed as well. There's no perfect solution to this- it -began- OOC, and this is the result. I'd rather pick the solution that doesn't perma-retire characters whose players want them back- since they were retired for rather pointless OOC reasons to begin with.

As the DMs have all discussed (and agreed without a single objection) to allow this, and as we have talked to most (as best as we could figure, and that included Emily's player) of the players who would be at least somewhat affected (and everyone we discussed with agreed as well) this went forward. If there is an RP error with your character that you need to work out, please speak with Ree and/or Eric's player so smooth out any details, as this is currently back into the PC RP realm of things.

To answer a question from before: Married students will not happen. Post-grad is, at this time, closed- and also not what was best for the situation.

At this time, if you have any RP questions, modifications, suggestions, or to demand this doesn't happen at all, speak to Eric's and/or Sierra's players, privately. It's their decision now, the DMs have simply ruled this RP modification is justified.
