It was a quiet night, and Terry sat beside Liss on the bench, just outside the Entrance Hall. She had quarreled with Callie, and was depressed about it, and Terry had no idea of what to do to cheer her up. He asked her, several times, and while promising what she had asked then had gotten a very unsatisfactory answer. It was not until later that she finally said something that he could agree with.
"I need a break," Liss finally said. "From curfew, and telling people to get to bed, from morons fighting in the halls, and from friends who really aren't."
"That has already been granted," Terry said, which was the truth. It was the Winter Break, barely started. Elders had planned, as he always did, to stay at Hogwarts, and do the myriad of researches that occupied his time.
"Perhaps I'll go home. To where everything is familiar," Liss mused, thoughtfully.
"There you go. I'm sure your parents would be glad to have you," Terry said smiling.
"What about you?" Liss said suddenly.
"What about me?" Terry queried in return.
"You're staying here?"
"I usually do. I don't have anywhere else to go," Terry replied honestly. He truly didn't, not after he broke all ties with The Brotherhood.
"You haven't met my parents, yet," Liss observed. This was true, but the prospect still made Terry nervous, even though he knew they approved of him, in absentia. What would she tell them? What would -he- say?
"Hm... No I haven't," he observed, looking as nervous as he felt.
"Come on. Let's go right now," Liss said, getting up, with a very decisive motion.
"Right now?" Terry asked, getting up to keep up with her much longer stride.
"Yeah. We can apparate out there," Liss said, as she strode to the school's gates. Terry trotted after her, privately glad he kept his personal possessions in the dimensional boxes, and special pouches in his school bag. Once outside, Elders hugged Liss, and she apparated them away from Hogwarts for the next two weeks.
