A shy little first year Ravenclaw student sat quietly in the Hogwarts garden. He stared up towards the pale grey sky as it threatened to rain on him, looking ever so very peaceful. A blue quill twiddled up and down between his lips, just as a lined parchment rested in his hand on his lap. His intention of writing a letter delayed by how simply beautiful the sky seemed to be through his grey eyes...
After another half an hour of simply staring upwards silently, he took the quill from his mouth. The bench he sat on had seemed to grow a bit colder, just as the day seemed to grow a bit darker. The holidays being near an end, every thing seemed completely miserable to the young wizard. And when he was miserable, he was curious about how people in other places were.
He set his quill, magiced so that it would no longer require ink, to the paper.
Quote:
Dear Callie,
How have you been? Every thing has been so boring at school that you wouldn't believe it! I think that almost all of my friends must have gone home for the holidays because I have had no one at all to play with. I will admit that Priggo, Felien and Drado have been around, but other than that there really hasn't been any one. There was a jelly man war, but that wasn't really any fun because I didn't get to play too until right at the end and when I did I ended up being stuck to the ground for all of it. My adoptive father is going to be so mad at me when he finds out that I had to throw one of the robes he bought for me because it was ruined.
I'm looking forward to when you come back to school. That should be soon, shouldn't it? I want to talk to you about some thing important but I don't want to write it. I hope you have been safe and well and I'm looking forward to your reply.
~ Rolliander.
Satisfied, Rolliander folded the parchment and set his quill behind his ear. He got to his feet and dusted at his robes for a minute or two, then set off for the owlery. His eyes never leaving their place on the ground as he walked.
