MINISTRY WARDENS NAMED

Department of Werewolf Safety, Ministry of Magic
___________________

Professor Severus Snape to be Hogwarts Warden of the Department of Werewolf Safety

From this day forward all wizard and witches, and indeed all of you, students of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, need no longer live in fear from Lycan radicals.

As Director of the Department of Werewolf Safety for the Ministry of Magic and with all the authority and terrible responsibility placed upon my petite shoulders, I hereby institute on this day, April the Second, 2009, the following decree.

Severus Snape, Grandmaster Professor of Potions and oft-times Associate Headmaster of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is named Warden of the Ministry of Magic, Department of Werewolf Safety, and is endowed with all the responsibilities and authority due and required for such position.

Any student with any knowledge whatsoever of a suspected Lycan, werewolf, radical, or associate of the aforementioned is hereby required by law to report said suspicions directly to Warden Snape. The punishment for failure to report any knowledge of Lycan members, their activities or those in conspiracy with Lycans is to be expulsion from school. The punishments for the possession of tools, conveyances, habitats, and substances for the purpose of aiding or facilitating werewolves are to include but not be limited to confinement in Azkaban Prison and capital rectification. The production, possession, distribution, or use of wolfsbane, or aconite, or any form of A. lycoctonum will command a sentence of no less than one year in Azkaban Prison.

Sincerely and affectionately,
Your Humble Director of the Ministry Department of Werewolf Safety
and Deputy Minister of Magic of The Ministry of Magic,
*signed* Dolores Umbridge

Unsigned posters written in flowing script have been placed throughout the castle...

Werewolves are not the ones to fear.

While they may be dangerous during the full moon, every other moment they are humans - just like we are.

They have to live their lives hunted like beasts, disgraced - for something that wasn’t even their choice to begin with?

I say we should fear the Ministry.

Laws are good. Laws protect us - but they can be flawed, like humans, and they can cross the line. Every human - every being, even, has basic rights. The biggest one is the right to live in peace. The very right the Ministry seems to want to take away, for not just the werewolves, but for those who respect their right to peace and keep their unfortunate blight in silence.

The Ministry may be going after radicals, but how will they define one? Are they willing to call every single werewolf a radical? If there are any at all, the Ministry, and narrow-minded wizards and witches are to blame.

If you were being treated like an animal, wouldn’t you fight back?

(( OOC note: They will appear as 'Graffitti' ICly, now.))

Some of the Umbridge posters have been taken down or are missing, but Filch replaces them as soon as he finds the empty spaces.

Once sticky charms have started being used, the Ministry posters begin to have disillusionment charms cast upon them.

The battle of the posters continues, the criminal posters showing disloyalty to the Ministry are removed the moment they are discovered by Filch. Any missing posters are replaced.

(( From this moment forward, anyone ICly removing, damaging or casting a spell on a poster should keep me, RT, Ree or Drado informed of the action, as it happens. ))

Some people may notice that the toilet paper in stalls around the school are being replaced with rolls of missing anti-werewolf posters.

(( While this is odd to even ask, please send me a tell or PM if one of your characters would see it fitting to the point of actually using said posters for the above purpose ))

*Further posters begin being posted near the ministry posters.*

Months ago when Hogwarts was attacked by Werewolves there was outrage by students, the staff, and the general public. Now the Ministry of Magic has taken action to prevent future attacks by the menacing Werewolves. Since these preventive measures were announced, outrage from the student body followed.

My fellow students, be mindful of your wishes. For they very well may come true.

You caused this by your calling for change.

You caused this by your outrage.

You caused this.
