*sitting at a table in the kitchens Shacadia Shay sat crying. it wasn't very long ago she'd been roaming the castle sleepwalking during a nightmare. although her nightmares troubled her she tried her best not to tell anyone. even her best friend Keeferson who she loved dearly. thinking bout this only made her cry harder knowing that he didn't love her. then thinking of Veiyne & the way he had treated her made her angry & even more upset. so on she sat crying a house elf placed a warm blanket around her & left a plate of ice cream, cookies & chocolate milk before they resumed their assigned tasks. leaving Shay feel even lonelier then ever*

*Keeferson at this point would come into the kitchens, not looking at anyone or anything at first. Three of the House Elves would greet him, apprently knowing him in a favourable sense. Speaking with them quietly, he would be pointed in the direction of Shacadia. They mentioned to him in dulcet tones about how Shacadia had been there a few times before. He would have used the kitchens at odd hours as well, but never had their paths intersected. In fact, Keeferson had come to the kitchens to study his school work on occasions he was seeking to avoid most human contact.

*Keeferson's footfalls were almost silent as he walked over to Shacadia. Sitting down without being invited, he removed his hood and looked at the sweets left behind for her by the House Elves. Shaking his head silently, a small smile came on his face despite his current emotional turmoil all his own.*

"I hope you're going to brush your teeth after all that, Shacadia. "

*After scampering into the kitchens she halts on the uppermost step, narrowing her eyes in concentration before crouching and leaping down the stairs, landing unsteadily just past the bottom step. She raises her arms above her head and cheers for herself, grinning with an air of triumph as several of the elves stop to gawk at her conspicuous display of "bravery".*

*She beckons to Mimsy enthusiastically after regaining her footing and strolls over to the familiar elf.*

"Hey! Do you have any of those mini-marshmellow things? I'm desperately in need of more coco-" *Her volume quiets as she spots Keeferson and Shay at one of the tables.
Reigning in her sometimes boistrous personality, she finishes speaking to Mimsy. She skedaddles back, folding her arms while leaning against the wall, waiting for the elf to return with her delux-extra-chocolatey cocoa. Watching Keeferson and Shay out of the corner of her eye for a few moments, trying not to appear as an obnoxious busy-body so she does what she does best and gives her manicure a thorough appraisal.*

*Patrick annihilates the mood by walking in backwards from another part of the kitchens, using his body to open doors. He walks into the Slytherin table of the kitchens and catapults backwards. The stuff he is carrying, which now proves to be marshmallows of all sizes, sprays Keef, but not Shacadia. Patrick, fearful of Keef's wrath, rushes off with the marshmallows he's still carrying, leaving the marshmallows near Keef and Shay alone. He makes his way to the stairs, avoiding eye contact with everyone, and muttering something about "seventh year Ravenclaws" and "bonfires".*

*Is now covered by various splotches of marshmallows... which he hates. Before he can say anything, Patrick has already made a swift departure and a clean getaway. Left to suffer in silence, Keeferson looks at himself dejectedly. His desire to destroy things rises incredibly, but has to remain stifled as the House Elves look at him with worry. One of them, one of the newest ones, actually braves going close to Keeferson to wipe off his shirt for him. The youth looks at the House Elf and nods to them in gratitude, sighing heavily and looking at the ceiling as if to say "Why is it always me?"*

*looks at Keeferson covered in marshmallows & laughs at him through her tears. she hugs him close & as tight as she can. pulling herself into his lap she kissed him with salty teary kisses*

"Keefy..... why did things have to go so wrong?"

*She busts out laughing, golf clapping for Patrick, while watching him make his speedy retreat. Surveying the scene for a moment before strolling over and picking up a few of the abandoned marshmellows.*

"They look good on you, Keeferson." *She teasingly chimes in before popping a marshmellow into her mouth, she turns to find Mimsy offering her the cup of cocoa she'd been waiting for. Thanking the little elf, Sierra turns back to Shay and Keef, giving a friendly smile before turning on her heel and walking towards the exit with her cuppa.*

"Things go weird for a reason. They are meant to test our resolve and make us better people. In the end, all the struggle we go through in life makes us stronger and more wise. Or at least, that's what McGonagall and Moody would insist. To be honest, Shacadia, I haven't a clue. I always figure God had it out for me. God, the angels, just about any celestial figure, really. I'm so the wrong person to ask."

*Giving Shacadia a sad smile, Keeferson kisses her temples. Holding her close, he just looks at the one room within the school that had given him more solace than any other. Not even the Owlery and the Library had done this for him. Then again, they had their places in his heart as well. One of the House Elves came up with highball glass, a bucket of ice, and some apple cider. Thanking the House Elf, he poured himself a glass and asked for a second glass in case Shacadia wanted one.*

"And this is a bad thing, because...? You know I've been wanting to see you put on weight since our first year together inside of Hogwarts. We'll worry about how the weight gets put to good use at a later date. And yes, we -will- have a later date, because I said so. Even if I have to step away from the school, there's going to be a better tomorrow, just like the movie."

*Thinking for a moment, he snickers and shakes his head.*

"Okay, maybe not like the movie. I don't think that Hogwarts could handle that level of Gun-Fu up in here. As cool as it would look, I can't do a backflip while wielding two semi-automatic handguns. And I don't think my mother would approve of me doing that either. Oh, speaking of... My mother wrote me back recently. Said that she'd be more than happy to meet other friends of mine from Hogwarts if they came to Canada."

"The wizarding community needs a better word for non-magical people. Apparently `Mundane' and `Regular' are out of the question as such, at least in the eyes of a few students I've already asked. It doesn't matter in the end, as someone would use it against those not born with sorcery in their veins eventually.

"Sorry, Shacadia. Seems that my mood will always remain stained in some way."

*Kissing Shacadia's hair, he takes a long sip of his juice. Looking at the glass for a while, he takes off his gloves and runs his fingers along the rim of the glass. The noise made from the action isn't at all unpleasant.*

*Joki descends the few steps into the kitchen, dark robes fitted severely to her slender frame and the sound of her boot-heels hollow on the wooden floor. Her black-rimmed eyes are still heavy lidded with sleep as she makes a direct path to the nearest pot of coffee. She pours a mug full, leaving the sugar and creamer untouched as she turns to go with the mug in hand.

Halfway to the door, the sound of a glass singing interrupts whatever thoughts were occupying her mind. Her expression of perpetual annoyance sours even further as she turns her head to identify the source. She gives Keef and Shay a swift, contemptuous glance without breaking stride, then smoothly cuts Sierra off as she leaves and lets the heavy kitchen door close behind her with a loud BANG!*

*Noting Joki's descent into the kitchens, and her contemptuous stalking OUT of the kitchens, Keeferson sighs once to himself.*

"Some people. There's just no pleasing them. Probably if she got off the coffee, she'd be a little less wired. Then again, coffee withdrawl can get pretty ugly. No, I think we should just sit here and stay out of her way. There are some monsters I have no intention of fighting. A caffeine-deprived Slytherin is high on that list."
