Dear Mum,
I'm here! Hogwarts is SO cool! When i got here they put this talking hat on me, they call it the Sorting Hat, and it said I belonged in Ravenclaw House. I have my own room, it's almost as big as our house there. The rug on the floor is my favorite shade of teal, like it was put there for me. There is a big comfy chair in one corner, and a window with a window seat where I like to sit and read.
Getting here was fun, too...I wish you could see Diagon Alley. I got all my books, I've read through most of them already but still need to finish some. I bought an owl, too, so I can send letters like this! She's so pretty, with big yellow eyes and tawny feathers. I'm still trying to think of a good name for her.
So far I've met a few people, like Hagrid the groundskeeper and Professor Flitwick and a girl named Ry and another named Hannah and two boys named Justan and Hir something.
It's so pretty here, Hogwarts is a real castle with lots of big windows and staircases that don't always go to the same place. And there's an art room! I'm going to go there tomorrow, and maybe to the lake. Someone said there is a giant squid in it!
I miss you and Uncle Credus, I'm making presents for you both. I'll ask my owl to take them to you when they're finished. It's time for lunch, the food is amazing too! I'll write again soon.
