Death. Yes, death. A subject most avoid speaking of, for the veil beyond death is unknown lands we cannot fully understand. Death, the end of life. The end of a tale, the end of a person’s existence. Some imagine death to be a void, some imagine that death is evil, some know they cannot avoid it. And yet, so many do everything they can to put a stop to it, just as Beedle’s fable of the three brothers explains… There are many human theories of death, many definitions that involve “the termination of the biological functions.”, but in the end, we are clueless, and that unknown makes us all uncomfortable…

Roselyn awoke softly, but she still felt tired, tired and troubled with dreams of dementors surrounding her and flashes of green light, along with Gwen’s screams… But she didn’t want to think of it, even if she clearly needed to… The oceans waves were heard in the bedroom, the sun had not yet shown itself, there was a silver glow in the room and the white walls made it unique… She sat up on the bed, looking out the window to the pale silver moon, still feeling down, with many feelings unsure how to express them…

The first thing she had done that morning was going to the Diagon ally’s morning market to buy them new and clean clothing, the clothing they had worn was dirty, torn and worn out. She bought a simple white dress for herself, a new long black coat for Tom, along with some shirts and new boots… And the fact, that she hated wearing something dirty also made the redhead do this. She couldn’t help but see a couple of classmates that looked to her while she was shopping… But she avoided them, clearly not wanting to speak about what had come to pass.
She had apparated back into their room, or more precisely the bathroom not wanting to awake her lion. With fresh pastries from the bakery, and shopping bags of all sorts, even if she had tried dearly hard, the shopping had not set her mind off things, and it started to annoy her. The young lass set the breakfast on the table along with a note on one of the bags:

She then dressed into her new white dress and decided to take a walk… Before leaving, she put the covers over his warm skin, kissing his head softly and whispering in his ear “I love you…” Tom would smile and nuzzle his face into his pillow, making the redhead chuckle softly before closing the door, using her wand to lock it behind her, leaving the key to Tom…

As Roselyn walked along the sea shore, the waves touching her bare feet from time to time, the water was freezing, the air was cold, but she walked alone on the shore… She couldn’t feel grief, grief is for people who make bonds and loose that person… But she felt something; it was in her throat in her stomach, she felt empty, but so full of thoughts, along with other feelings that bounced off each other. In the end, she didn’t know how to feel.

So many things had happened that night; the mix of the emotions was too much for a teenager to bear… There was anger; there was sadness, and a feeling that couldn’t be calmed, as if it wasn’t over to her. The lass knew it wrong to want to see something burn down to ashes, but the thought remained, seeing it destroyed would have put her at ease at this point. That academy held so much in its walls, the pain and suffering of her friends, the twisted ways of the teachings that had came to pass there and the pit… The pit. Or was it some sort of arena? She didn’t know, but once they had all ran into that place, wands out stunning spells flying everywhere, she remembered something Tom had spoken of, months ago. The pit carried more blood of those who fought for Hogwarts…

Roselyn folded her arms and rubbed both with her hands, her green eyes looking out to the horizon. Something new was there, in her eyes, new scars, scars she didn’t know how to handle… She didn’t know if she had to cry, to burst out in anger, or rejoice that it was over… Scarred for life, the screams, the tears of Gwen marked her deeply… Justan’s corps, lifeless, hit by that flash of green light that cannot be stopped. Being close to such an unforgivable curse was something she had never experienced and it scared her. Gwendolyn’s screams echoed in her mind, her nightmares of her own screaming voice came back to her mind. She had been right to fear this after all…

Roselyn’s steps lead her further down the beach, her hair whipping her face, the waves crashing down with strength… There was pain inside of her, shaken by the deaths and by the violence. In one night, she had faced many fears, many new things she had never seen before that she would have preferred to never see. A life had left them, and even if she didn’t know him too well, or at all, it scared her, that someone the same age as herself, could suddenly disappear. How to cope with it? She knew she had to accept it, perhaps, it had been too much in one night? Many frightful things such as Dementors, Inferi, Giant inferi’s and just the Academy itself...

“…Tom…” her voice said quietly. Saying his name was something that seemed to bring her to peace that reassured her… ‘It is over.’ She had thought. ‘It’s over, now you have to move on, it’s done.’ She could have repeated it in her head over and over, but this did not persuade her troubled thoughts… And it happened once again, just like it did after the Aurors took them away to Askaban, she felt her head get slightly dizzy…

Image

Dizzy from everything and she backed away from the waves, almost sure she might fall, and she did. The young girl, fell to her knees to finally fall face first in the sand, her hands gripping the sand, vulnerable and finally giving in. Could she have done something? Had she, like the others failed to save Justan in some way? Was it failure? They were only children, running head first into the sharp jaws of danger, of death… Why did this have to happen? Roselyn coughed, feeling sick from it, her moans and tears were only seen by Shade cove… Had they failed him? The redhead couldn’t make peace with it, the green flash had taken away a life, and there was absolutely no stop to it.

“Tom…” she sobbed, he seemed to be her only reconfort, the only thing she could hold on to, for she knew he felt similar about this. Surprise had claimed her once she felt two strong hands lift her up from the sand, and take in warm strong arms. “I’m here for ya Rose… It’s fine…”

Questions. Yes, questions. Questions about the future, questions about history, questions, so many can be solved, so many can be left unanswered. Some we can suppose to know the answer… “A question may be either a linguistic expression used to make a request for information, or else the request itself made by such an expression.”

Tom had came to find her on that beach, and he knew she needed to talk, he understood her reaction, her understood her feelings. It was their final day in Hagshaven, Pinbora and they spent the long afternoon together exploring the magical land. Their conversations were of that night, of the landscapes around them, they talked until they were finally comfortable; they talked until he was sure she would be fine. The dead multi colored leaves on the ground, crackled as their footsteps guided them deeper into the forest.

Image

A stream was near them; the water’s flow could be heard, along with birds chirping, the branches moving under the wind and what may have been animals walking in the leaves… Once they finally reached the clear stream, it was late afternoon, Tom conjured a blanket for them to sit on, and Rose set up their picnic sitting crisscrossed on the blanket. And the young couple breathed in the fresh pure air, and their thoughts looked to the future. Questions were asked, answers or theories were given… Roselyn was looking up to the tree’s watching a sparrow sing, drinking her glass of water silently, when a thought had came to her…

“Will those students go to Hogwarts?” Rose asked still looking at that bird, who hopped from branch to branch, singing.

“Hmm....I dunno..” He had said thoughtfully as he gazed up at the little bird as well, his eyes twinkling with the reflected sun light. “...Maybe a few here 'n there...maybe even at other magical schools. Dumbledore's big on forgiveness...'n those kids were mostly indoctrinated anyways...” He chewed on an apple, his arms around his knees, he looked away from the bird, to his girl, who seemed to be deep in thought.

Image

Hand in hand, the climbed up a tall grassy hill, the night was already among them. The moon was out, still rather full and pale, shinning down on them as they sat in the long grass, crickets chirping and playing their own fiddles. Rose sat back slightly; her eyes were looking up to the sky full of stars, wrapping her scarf around her neck, as the cold breeze blew. Tom seemed to be deep in thought, and so was she… “I am curious.” she had said, finally breaking that silence. “I would like to assist the trial for the Heads of the London Academy. It would be interesting, and if I dare use the word; gratifying to see them be sent officially to Azkaban... "

“...I ain't sure if everyone'll feel that way 'bout Sabine.” He had said, still in thought, his eyes moving upward towards the night sky. Some long grass brushed against his cheek and he pushed it away without looking away from the diamonds in the sky… She looked to her feet for a moment, she had not thought for one moment about professor Snape, and his sacrifice... It made her feel bad in away, to forget something that was very important, and complicated... Tom spoke to her, and they discussed it, letting his girlfriend understand better, the true and deep sacrifice that had been made.
“...It's horrible” she had said, her voice was a soft whisper. The moonlight bathed the grassy hill, making her pale skin glow. Tom had turned to her laying on one side, his hand reaching out to her own making contact. He nodded knowingly, his eyes slightly closing as he did so.

“Mhm....exactly. 'N that makes his sacrifice all tha greater doesn't it?” his voice said in the same whisper, his thumb brushed over her skin. They spoke more, letting the night pass slowly, the minutes didn’t matter, what they were speaking of was all more important. He motioned her to get closer to him, and he wrapped an arm around her waist. “....once things settle down...you'll know tha truth. Trust me on that one.” He had winked to her, before joining her in a kiss. She kissed his tender lips softly, her hand behind his head in his long blond hair...

“I love you Tom” she had said in a whisper that would make his heart feel the warmth of her words. After a long moment of long deep kisses, Rose looked at him, and smiled warmly, on top of his chest, both lying in long grass... "We should get back soon, Love, don't you think? Before you have to ‘report’ me and lock me away in your tower of yours, mhm?" She had raised a rather amused brow, an expression he knew too well... Crazy French lass of his, he surly felt lucky.

“Oh yeah...that'd be a real shame...wouldn't it?” His voice was seductive, even suggestive. “But… you’re right, we need to head ‘back now…” They had already gathered their things from the inn, and returned the key, this last stroll seemed to settle the getaway… He had helped her up with a strong hand and twirled her in his arms, kissing her forehead before nodding, awaiting her own nod. She held on tightly to him and their things and nodded. A loud ‘Pop!’ was heard, the couple had gone… Leaving their sanctuary, ready to face what they had to…

Powerless. Yes, powerless, it is how one feels when they can do nothing to change or help a situation. And of late, this is exactly how the redhead felt, ineffective and useless. “Lacking strength or power; helpless and totally ineffectual.”

Green eyes looked over the article written by Murphy McIntosh, moving left to right, back and forth, reading. There was sadness reflected in her eyes, as the words were memorized from each reading. Garion hopped on her lap, Roselyn was in their bedroom, sitting in a chair near the fire, her curls on the right side of her face, fingers pressed against her lips, concentrated, and reading. Tom was right, the families would seek blood, seek the ones who had done this to their children. For children they were, young innocent children who happened to be at the wrong place, at the wrong time… It was too difficult to imagine the weight on their hearts, those who had spilled innocent blood, it was unimaginable.

The only article that seemed to spawn up hope, was the article written by Janeta Thoroughgood, “Ministry of Magic Reformed”. Though she knew that her former professor of the dark arts would have much to do, to fix, to “butt-whoop” as he would have put it… But the small hope remained in her, that things were going for change, and change was exactly what they needed. There would be much happier times to come, but that day, had been a sad one. Justan’s funeral was that day…

The young lass looked over the paper to her lover, he was silent, ever so silent the expression on his face was heart tearing. His smile was no more, the twinkle in his eyes had died and she felt powerless. The sun had not yet peaked out yet, for the funeral was to take place as the sun rises, and they both were getting ready for it. Rose set the paper on the table near the fire, and placed Garion on her chair as she stood from the arm chair. Her black heels hit the wooden floor as she approached Tom, her face was already ready, her makeup was light, only mascara and a line of black eyeliner. She sat on his lap, both arms around his neck, and he touched her warm skin and smelled her neck as if she was the only recomfort in his darkness… And she thought of the day before…

***

It was the day before Justan’s funeral, while the dew was still fresh, and the misty ways of Scotland still upon them, the sun was in the sky, mid afternoon was among them. Alastor Moody, the freshly new Minister of Magic, had returned to Hogwarts for the service that was to be held the next day. The minister had stepped into the castle and asked the two to walk with him, Tom and he spoke during the walk, a long walk towards the lake… Roselyn had mostly kept to herself, listening quietly supporting her love when he needed it the most.

Moody limped all the way towards a sarcophagus, made of stone, Tom tried to avoid looking at it, while the redhead could not remove her eyes away from it. She squeezed his hand a little harder, to show him, she was there for him, her mind was begging for a form of recomfort, in any form, a look, a squeeze of the hand, anything. Memories of that dreadful night, floating back to the surface of her thoughts. “Justan Blake returns to Hogwarts one last time...” Moody had said, putting both hands on its corners, leaning on it. Many words were spoken, words of regret, words of eternal questioning… In the end, the coffin was there to show them, that there were no “what if’s”, there was no going back, what had been done was done. Three lives had been taken that night, one of them being in their own ranks.

It was enough to pain and anger for anyone, while Rose’s pain and sadness was expressed in silent tears, her fiery companion expressed his rage fully with his wand, fire spread on the lake’s surface, creating stream that floated over the water’s surface for awhile. Falling to his knees, he had no energy left to give, that burst of anger was strong, full of despair, a clear sign that his heart was shattering. She ran to him, dropping down on her own knees behind him, wrapping her arms around his body. Her arms where incredibly strong, holding him so tightly “Tom…” she had said softly, almost pleadingly. Moody had walked around the coffin to sit near Tom, leaning against the coffin, he couldn’t help but utter a small groan of an old man with creaky joints as he lowered himself.

Image

Her touch seemed to be the one thing to save him...an angel to catch him, shielding him from the fire. She felt him giving up...his muscles resting as he fell to the side...his shoulder was resting against the grave. Slowly...without really even realizing it, his body responds to her caring touch and his head leaned against hers his eyes closing. A pair of painful tears had found their way down his cheeks, leaving two small dark spots on his trousers. Moody had grunted as he pushed himself back on to his foot and put both hands on their shoulders muttering a few words, looking unsure of what else to say, before stumping off to his business.

She held him so close, so close to her, it was more than physical; she felt him close to her heart, feeling his pain, regrets and suffering. Tom had sat up a little more his left hand reaching for one of hers, desperate for some...for any human contact. To know she's still there...to know they're still alive. Roselyn had let go of him to crawl around him, still on her knees, she faced him to hold him so tightly in her arms. “I...l-love ya...Rose...” His voice was whispering in her ear, and his pain was clear and present in his voice. “p-please...stay...with me…

I'm not going anywhere… Tom.” her voice was almost inaudible, a faint whisper, a weak whisper. And at that reassurance the young man wrapped his arms around her form as tightly as he could, holding on for dear life....squeezing out the dark thoughts, hoping to feel nothing of the sort, no longer... The redhead had a hand in his long blond hair holding him tighter, smelling his hair, holding him so tightly, her green eyes were not looking away from the coffin, looking to it with fear... looking to it with sadness...“We will get though this Tom... we will

He had opened his sky blue eyes and saw her horror, lived in her own. Tom took her face with both hands and made her look at him as he looked to her. His eyes were puffy, red, and tear-stained...but there was love all the same...a strength that, deep down, pierces the sadness. He could feel her trembling, her lips doing the same as well... curls were in front of her face, tears down her cheeks, her eyes were the same as his... She was breathing uncertainly, shakily... The coffin behind Tom, so near.... Death was there... and death scared her, thinking it could have been one of them... the flash of green light coming to her mind...

At that point he kissed her. Kissed her; like her lips offered the very breath of life. A single link to grant them both something positive to feel...anything else than that great, deep dark pit of death... The young woman had whimpered softly, her lips were kissing his, not wanting him to let go. He could feel her give in, her muscles letting her go, weakly and slowly falling in his arms; she was ready to finally give in those fears and tears. She didn’t want to feel it anymore, she was afraid and her dreams haunted of those memories, of flashes of green lights.

His arms seemed to gain strength as hers lost theirs; catching and cradling her while his kissing became more hectic. It was a crazy thing, messy, wet and sad...yet comforting at the same time. He felt her body tremble, her lips were weak, her beautiful face wet with tears. The wild kisses he brought her, she returned in a less wild and hectic way, each of his kisses, made her feel more alive and warm... They were alive.... they were alive, and together... Rose had coughed as Tom had sighed resting his chin on her shoulder, brushing his cheek against her own. Her curls tickled his face as he had smelled the sweet scent of her neck...

***

She stood in front of the mirror as his caring hands zipped her black dress up, her green eyes watched his reflection, his pain was still present… And she felt helpless to aid him in his depression, she knew, that night had scarred many, some perhaps suffered only flesh wounds, but… some such as Gwen, or Tom would carry these scars forever. Her jaw had tightened as her eyes looked to her shoes, Garion’s tail tickling her ankles and she turned to face Tom.

He nodded to her, holding out his arm and they walked down the stairs in silence, all the way down to the entrance hall, following the others towards the lake, following the lit candles all the way to the resting place of Justan Blake. Her feet felt heavy, the heavy feeling weighed on her heart as they finally took their seats in a middle row…

This is the saddest duty I have ever had to perform, and I realize that it is profoundly more difficult for so many of you.” Said Dumbledore’s old but clear voice his soft blue eyes caught several of them, and fell softest upon Gwen. “I have been reassured that Justan would not have wanted a fuss made--that he would not have wanted even recognition for his sacrifice--for his heroism.......

Medals. So rare they are to be given out… Are given out to be recognized as; A hero or a winner… Medals are to reward those who risked their lives for their country, for there brothers in arms, for their rights… “A medal may be awarded to a person or organization as a form of recognition for athletic, military, scientific, academic, or various other achievements. In either case, an award or decoration may be presented as a medal.”

***
"Roselyn Synders,” Gwendolyn Summers had said “in recognition of meritorious service to the true Ministry, I present you with the Silver Star. May it always be a light to you in dark places"
***

Image

A thumb rubbed over the silver medal, touching each branches of the star feeling them under her skin. Her green eyes were looking into the night sky, loosing themselves to the diamonds in the dark black sky. Sleep hadn’t came for her that night, just as the sand lord had seemed to abandon Tom as well. The redhead had climbed up to the Astronomy tower, leaning against a pillar, in thought, her cat was sitting on the wall, looking out to the landscape. Roselyn tore her eyes away from the sky, to look down to her hand which held the Silver Star, the blue ribbon was dangling. She hadn’t given it a proper look, the medal had been resting on her dresser since that night…

She brought it closer to her eyes, her fingers on both sides and she sighed deeply. “I didn’t do this for a medal…” she says looking to Garion, who turned his head slightly to look over to her. “I did it, because it was the right thing to do… Lives were at stake, dictation and injustice… And that school…” her voice trailed off… “had to be stopped…” she finished looking back to the silver medal, thinking of the horrors that had dwelled in that academy. In the end… the medals were deserved to those who obtained them. They had all put their lives at stake; they had all done their part to change the events, and the wizarding world. Was it the best people, who didn’t recognize the need for medals? Were the real heroes the ones who preferred to remain silent, hidden, looking after the things and people they loved the most? The true hero’s didn’t fight to gain power, popularity or success… Nor did they do it for their own selfish plans… No. The real heroes were those, who fought with their hearts, for what they believed in, for others.

But, Roselyn did not consider herself as such; it was perhaps a good thing that such a thing could not get to her head to corrupt herself. She felt it was normal, that anyone else would have done it. And as that thought came to mind, she thought of the discussion they had had with the Head girl… What if she was right? There was no what if’s, she was right about that… And it disgusted her. Red couldn’t understand such cowardice and lack of action, but there was a part of her that would wonder if the Head girl had her own reasons for making them realize this. Had she her own agenda, or was it sincerely how she felt with no other thoughts behind it? Only time could tell…

Image

The pair of green eyes stared at the Silver Star, what was she going to do with this? Was it to be kept away hidden? Worn for special occasions at the ministry? Ceremonies like the Muggles did in the army? She then wondered what Tom would do with his own, she doubted that he would hang it on the wall, then again, perhaps he would? “Tom…” she had whispered to herself softly. She pocketed the Silver Star, and walked forward to her cat. “Allez viens.” She said lifting her Maine coon from the wall, it meowed as she did so, and cuddling against her purring, rubbing its face on her nose.

Her lover had not been getting any sleep, each night had been haunting his thoughts and she knew it. But all she could do for him, was be there for him, hear him out. Drado had reassured her, that she was probably the only person who could help him now, to make him feel loved despite what he was going through. His words were greatly appreciated to Red, for she had feared the worst, that she had no power to aid him what so ever. As much as this displeased her, Rose knew that he had to figure out the rest himself… But still, Tom had not been getting sleep, and as each night came to pass, the more and more tempted she was to slip a sleeping potion or a draught of peace in his glass.

As her light steps carried her down the stairs, she wondered if she would have to come down to that solution… It did not please her, to slip something into his drink with knowing it would be perhaps crossing a line. She convinced herself, that she would suggest it to him if the answer was no, she would perhaps let her hand slip over his glass. It was for his own good, he had been over tired, the grey rings under his eyes were only increasing as the nights passed.

She reached the fat Lady and was about to whisper when the Lady spoke.
“I heard you got the Silver Star, Rose.” She said grinning down to her, her pink silky dress swaying slightly. “You should be proud! You and the others did the right thing.”

“Just did…” she had stopped herself and she nodded. “Thank you, Madame.” And she spoke the password, bidding her a good night. She stepped into the empty common room; the fire was dead, put out. Roselyn put the cat down on its paws, letting it find a cozy place on a couch, as she stepped towards the fireplace placing some logs inside. “Incendio!” she muttered, and sparks and flames rushed out of her wand to lick the wood with passion. Consuming it, becoming greater and more powerful spreading, gaining heat… The flames gave her another thought;

What of her parents? The young woman grabbed some pillows and laid down in front of the fireplace; curling into a ball, her arms around a fluffy cushion. Surely, there would be an article in the daily prophet mentioning who got awarded, or that Hogwarts students were rewarded for their courage. Red half expected to receive another Howler, screaming to her about taking risks… The teen had been wrong to think this… But she continued on this and thought of her mother screaming at her, or her father daring to speak with her. What did they know? Her mother was in France with her plants and own little world of research… Her father was god knows where, running after dragons, researching, studying being the coward he had always been for his family. “Family.” She said in a deadpan tone of voice. Was it really the name for it? She had seen families, and it was nothing compared to what she had lived…

So many thoughts, so many preoccupations… It was too much for her. Too much to take in all at once! She had her own troubles, her boyfriend’s, her friends… It had all came to sneak up on her all at once. So much information was given, a lot of secrets were told, feelings were expressed, and opinions were taken into account… Had she gained trust and loyalty to those around her? It felt so, without knowing it she had showed great kindness, liking and interest to those around her. The redhead had groaned, turning on her back, putting a hand on her eyes… a then, a thought came to her… What if… it was all linked? She then sat up straight. “Mais oui…” it was like it had all stringed in her mind, the link was there, she knew it; Red just didn’t know what exactly…

Worry came over her, had she lifted herself from the ground to put the pillows away, Garion was snoozing in a ball. Some secrets that were shared with her, made her think of that person, hoping that person would be alright… In the end, she knew should have to speak about it, she needed to know if that person was going to be alright before things were too late. Rose felt that something was wrong, something she didn’t know, something was lurking, waiting….

“Or maybe.. you are just paranoid?” She asked herself her back turned towards the staircase leading to the bedrooms.
“You com’n to bed Rose’?” a soft voice had asked.
Roselyn gasped in surprise and turned quickly, Tom was on top of the staircase, looking down towards her, in his robe. She had put a hand over her heart, and smiled weakly. “Yes love, I am coming…”

Lavender. Etrange. Strange, yes strange, that the lavender flower could find it’s way in the winter night… “Flowers may be blue, violet or lilac.”

Image

What was she doing here? That was the main thought that came to her mind, as snow crunched under her boots. A slender dark figure was lurking in the trees; it was Roselyn, wondering late evening in the darkness of the ancient forest. Why had her steps brought her so deep in the forest? She had no clue, but yet, she found herself there… She wrapped her cloak around her, as the snow and cold wind brushed against her cheeks; her steps brought her to a rather tattered wooden gate… What was this place? She had poked a head inside the gate and its walls, taking a peak to the ruins of what seemed to be habitations, and a temple of some sort. Roselyn then remembered this place, Zane had brought her there, away from all ears, but he had apparated, never before had the redhead reached this spot of the forest.

The snow covered the ruins, fresh snow, not yet tainted or marked by footsteps of any kind. There weren’t even animal tracks… And to that thought, she listened carefully… nothing. Where were the birds? The owls or other noises? There was nothing, not a sound apart the wind making the tree branches touch, creek and crack. Crunching footsteps broke that silence, the sun was almost gone, it was getting rather dark, but the white snow seemed to glow. She walked through the ruins, her wand in hand, feeling a little uneasy, what was this place? What had happened…? “Aïe!” she gasped and pointed her wand towards what her foot had hit; a tombstone. She spined on spot, tombstones, lots of them, and a chill ran down her spine as she continued her way, seeing another gate ahead.

Image

A strange force was pushing her to continue, was it her curiosity? No. She had no reason to be here, so, why was she? The pair of green eyes looked away from the gate, her eye had caught a color difference in the white darkness; it was a violet glow, a strange eerie thing… Roselyn walked slowly towards it, once she had seen what it was, goose bumps crawled on her entire body. It was a ghostly appearance of a young girl, staring into nothing, who was she? Red walked in front of her to look at her better, the quiet girl had glanced to her with an indifferent stare. The redhead looked around, behind and in front of her, checking if she was alone. Her voice spoke clearly as she did her breath blew out of her warm mouth to meet the chilly air.

“My name is Roselyn.” It had seemed to be a good start when meeting anyone, even a ghost. She also wanted to put her at ease. It was a reflex that she had had, a caring motherly way towards those around her, this ghost was no different. The girl had continued to stare at the young woman, finally nodding slowly, as if letting her know that she had heard her. Red’s green eyes looked at the ‘girl’ closer, she carried silver pipes, in her hands, and it seemed to be the only “real” thing about her. All this was strange, Roselyn had absolutely no idea whatsoever what exactly the girl was. She motioned a finger towards the pipes “Do you like to play…?”.

The ghost had given an immediate response, a quick one compared to the time she had taken to acknowledge the teen. The little figure had jerked the pipes to one side, clutching them tightly to her chest, glaring at the Gryffindor girl. Red quickly reacted to this as well seeing the glare and sudden reactions from the ghost. She reassured the ghost that she only wanted to hear her play her instrument, being rather curious about it. The “girl” had looked up at Rose, the pipes still clenched to her chest, nodding slowly once more… The small figure raised the pipes to her mouth and began to play...her lips pursed and eyes closed in concentration...her focus was plain as she devoted all her efforts to the music...which Rose could simply not hear. Mute notes. A silent symphony…

But yet, still the ghost had continued to play the instrument. The Gryffindor had caught herself wondering if she was dreaming all this. Was she really there herself? A vision? Something? Why was she there in the first place at that hour? Many questions came to her mind, but in the end, perhaps it was real... As the dead music notes played; faint glimpses of light flashed around the ghost ...hints of scents of lavender and damp leaves, each new impression brought the ghostly figure to a deeper reality...but the music was still silently missing. The green eyes widened she had never heard, read, or seen such a thing, again the knowledge of books had seemed pointless here. Her mouth had slightly opened in surprise once the little figure had stopped play, and the odors, the faint lights were no more. The girl had become a translucide ghost once more.

Image

Lavender…” the redhead had said looking to her. “When you played your instrument....” She wasn’t sure the ghost would understand her. Her green eyes looked to the violet glowing flame that was in front of the girl, why was everything of a lavender shade about this girl? The little girl raised her eyes to look at Red again, her was gaze full of open sadness and longing. After a moment, she raised the pipes back to her lips and slowly played again, her eyes fixed on Rose who was staring straight back into her eyes, hoping to understand the ghost, help her if she could. The girl paused in her playing, sliding the pipes to one side and then blew a last single note... a note that Roselyn was able to hear! A single high pitched note that echoed through the night air with a sensation that was as much felt as heard as it wrapped around the redhead, setting her skin abuzz with sensation.

Her eyesight seemed to get blurry, the sound of the note slowly drowned her mind, and slowly, she saw herself fall... Fall to the leaves and snow, the last thing she saw was the ghostly figure... A hand reached out to her, unable to move, to look away, everything fading around her, her vision darkened… and she fell asleep.

Cold. The sensation was biting her whole body; she had taken a deep breath, causing the snow to scatter in front of her mouth. She opened her eyes and lifted herself with both arms, looking to where the ghost had been... Shivering, teeth chattering, she looked around... “Hello....?” Nothing. Not a sound, just like it had been thirty minutes before seeing the ghost. The young lass had pushed herself from the ground... wondering how long she had been out... She sniffled and walked slowly around, her wand in hand, dizzy and numb... most possibly from the cold. “Lavender…?” It wasn’t a dream, no, if it had been so, she wouldn’t have awakened in the ruins, but in her warm bed or arm chair. It was not a dream, the quiet girl was real, and so had been her quiet dead symphony…

Homesick. What is homesickness exactly? Is it the lack of hearing your own language? Your favorite foods you begin to crave? The people you start to deeply to miss? The traditions and culture of home? One thing is certain, it is when you are far from all those things that you start to get depressed about just anything… “Sad or depressed from a longing for home or family while away from them for a long time. ”

Image

Big Ben echoed though out all London eleven times, the night was dark and a blanket of white had been laid the previous day. It was Christmas eve, and Red had been staying at the Summers home in the heart of London and it was not surprising at all but they enjoyed her presence greatly. In her heart something was missing, the Summers had their own way of celebrating Christmas their own traditions… Something was missing and she felt unable to smile and truly be happy. She did her very best to not be as shy as she usually was and laugh as much as she could with Tom’s parents. Throughout the day she felt constantly nauseous, but she was not sick…

Image

Roselyn was looking out the window thoughtfully starring up at the snowy sky. Near the window was the finely decorated Christmas tree with lights and ornaments, there was the Summer’s cat sleeping under it curled into a ball of fur. It was finally night time and everyone was relaxing or getting ready for bed. That is when she got up from her comfortable spot and went to Tom’s room. The darkroom was filled with Quidditch posters who were asleep on their broomsticks along with books and some old things from his childhood. Gathering her green scarf, hat and fingerless gloves, she also put on her velvet green cloak. She breathed in deeply and looked out the window, dim light came from the lampposts in the street. The light switch clicked and she turned her curls bouncing slightly.

Tom was standing in the door way and had a questioning expression on his face. She spoke to him quietly and he nodded and smiled warmly, taking her in his arms. They both nodded and she kissed his lips before walking out of his bedroom, leaving him with his childhood memories and a promise of return for the next day… Rose discreetly opened the front door of the apartment and walked down the dark stairs. Once she got out of the building the cold wind started to bite her rosy cheeks as she looked for a quiet and dark ally. Not so simple to do in London, the heart of London might be known for all its statues, red; buses, post office boxes, telephone booths… but Rose knew it for all its cameras. The non magical eyes that never slept and could see all at every single angle of a street. These English muggles were mad, she had thought every time she came to this city.

She walked past a church, full of people chanting, singing to their faith. It was not unpleasant to listen to, in fact it reminded her of home and the village in her town. Finally near a trash bin, she found a dead angle where no camera could spot her. The redhead’s breath was a bit shaky from the cold, she sniffled and looked around herself before a loud “Pop!” echoed in the alley. The air that came to her lungs was different, it was pur unlike the filth that roamed in the airs of the city of London. Pure fresh icy air… Her green eyes looked around the white forest, she was near the place she called home. In the Celtic forests of the north west of France, not far from her apparating spot was the cottage where her mother lived.

Rose had not seen or heard of her mother since the Howler that had been sent to her… and that was even before the Lockdown on Hogwarts and the London Academy attack. Had she known? Had her mother even known about the lockdown, of the things that took place? The new ministry? Had news came all the way to France? Of course they did. But did her “non political” mother bother to lift her nose from her plants to take a peek at the world? Donell must have heard of it… had he informed his ex wife, had he heard of her achievements? All these questions had been in her mind for so long, she had wondered if her mother would forgive her… After all, sending a fire curse to ones father is not something to be lightly forgotten…

The church bell tower stroke once, it was around eleven thirty, the bell seemed so far and distant from there… Rose had crept along the forest path leading to a rather tattered old iron tall gate, plants had grown all over it the frost had taken over. Clever. That was the perfect word to describe her mother, Celine had always been a talented witch when it came to herbology. She spoke quietly but clearly the password to enter the grounds. “Vie.” As her cold breath floated in the air, the plants on the gate crackled from all the ice that had taken over, slowly they started to unravel themselves from the entrance. The old rusty gate opened revealing tight stairs leading up a hill it seemed to be like a tunnel covered in white covered plants that grew absolutely everywhere. A chaotic garden full of life, a sleeping life that waited the spring eagerly.

Image

Cautiously, Rose climbed up the stairs not wanting to slip or fall her wand out a dim light glowing from the tip. There it was, just outside the tunnel a magnificent view could be seen, the glass green house, like a castle of ice full of all sorts of plants… It was a beautiful sight and not far from it was her mother’s cottage. The snow under her leather boot crunched , it was hard to be discreet here, Rose was just about to put her hand on the door handle when she stopped herself. Inches from the handle, her hand stretched out towards it, she had for a long time thought of it, returning Home. Now that she had finally got there, she started to dread the welcoming. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, she would take her mother’s rage once and for all, the handle turned and the redhead entered the warm room.

“Maman….?” She called out, biting her under lip a little nervously, the smell of her home came to her nose and it all seemed so nostalgic. She was in the kitchen, of course there were old china and flowers everywhere in that place. Steps were heard coming from the living room that held a glow of a fireplace.
Roselyn?!” Came a voice, she was not sure if she was happy to see her or not. Her mother entered the kitchen, she seemed to be wearing very long red robes of velvet with golden trimmings that would swirl into leaves and flowers. Suddenly, Celine ran towards her daughter and held her so tightly in her arms, a hand in her red curls holding her so tightly. Red both surprised and relieved let out a shaky sigh and hugged her tightly back. There were no words to express the emotion that was felt there and then, only love could be present. Never had she felt so happy to find her mother again, and to feel forgiven.

“Joyeux Noël Maman…”

Giving. Yes the art of giving something that is both useful and beautiful is the perfect one to practice for Christmas day. We always hope that our choice of gifts will please the ones we love. Some have the coin to buy while others have the skill to create. But in the end, both are successful…

Gifts had been exchanged that day of giving. Roselyn was sitting in the Summers sitting room near the fire a smile on her face as Tom was un raveling what she had made for him. As he ripped the golden paper up a grin on his face and a glow in his eye she felt her heart warm up. Rose was wearing her new scarf and robes sent by Steven Walker, she was surprised to receive a gift from him and thought she would give him a gift once she returned. They were both of Gryffindor colors, the scarf was embroidered and the robes had: Red Synders on the back. Very Quidditch like, she wore them over her pjama’s happily.

Image

Tom opened the small box and could feel that it was cold under his finger tips as he would feel that his look would suddenly show curiosity. He shook it slightly and over Red’s shout of cheerful warning he heard an odd scratching and hissing noises coming from the box. The Summer’s cat who was scratching up the gift wrap looked at the box his pupils widening it’s ears up at the ready. Tom finally opened the box golden sparks popped like a small firework and out pounced a kitten sized white feline. Tom gasped in surprise as the enchanted snow tiger climbed up his sleeve, the Summer’s cat tried to catch the magical creation but Tom raised his arm chuckling as the feline made itself comfortable on his neck. That was her creation, she had remembered an afternoon spent with him sitting in the snow letting their creativity flow, they had created miniature snow cats… Roselyn put in a lot of effort in that little piece of magic, (and maybe a small push from her mother, just a tad.) The snow tiger wouldn’t be cold at touch and it’s blue eyes resembled his own, the tiger was very loving yet feisty; perhaps she had put in her own personality?

She had also bought him new Quidditch gear, his seemed rather used and tattered and luckly for her, Steven had thought of the polish for the broomstick for she had forgotten. Roselyn had painted a white tree in the middle of a lagoon and framed it for Mr and Mrs Summers. They seemed to like it very much and knew the right place to hang it. This made her happy and extremely relieved that they liked it, even if Tom had been repeating to her that they would. Roselyn had also received gifts from her father but she did not open them, instead she put them away in her suitcase… From her mother she had received a silver chain necklace with a globe glass carrying a single blossom, it’s magic was yet to discover for the flower had not yet opened…. Tom handed her a rather long rectangular box, she eyed him curiously and unwrapped the blue papered box. Once she opened it, she discovered a silver cauldron spoon mostly made for stirring.

It was of great quality engraved with leaves that curled themselves around it. There was a little note with it, a note that explained the quality and the use of this object. It was an automatic stirring spoon, the potion brewer would tell the object what recipe was used and the spoon would simple stir in the exact times that are needed. It was extremely useful for long term brewing, for example the Polyjuice potion. As Rose had opened the box she immediately squealed and pounced on him her arms around his neck. She had been wanting such a thing for a long time!

Roselyn was then handed a small red box from Gwendolyn, curiously she looked at it and was encouraged to open it by her smile. The redhead’s thin fingers carefully unwrapped the box and came to discover a sneakoscope. A Sneakoscope is a type of Dark Detector that looks like a glass spinning top. It lights up, spins, and whistles if someone is doing something nearby that is untrustworthy. Red had never imagined possessing one someday but she knew that perhaps it would come into use and such a gift from an auror didn’t surprise her. And from Tom’s father Chris offered her a signed DVD of the Tales of Beatle the Bard collector’s edition.

Red had a happy smile on her face that could not seem to fade away, this was a good day a day without fear… They feasted all night they had a lot of firewiskey and butterbeer just to make that night even better. Jokes and laughter were exchanged it was a good day a merry Christmas.

Kings Cross. Yes, the train station many have been to, most of those who walk though that station are clueless to the magical world oh so near them. Kings Cross to wizards is an exciting point of life, it is when you go to Hogwarts. Many see the elders go off in the Hogwarts express and dream on the day they will take the train themselves… Going is the exiting part, but taking it to come back home always seems disappointing…

Vacation had soon came to an end. Cards had been sent and received, gifts given and received, Christmas was over and the new year was approaching. Tom was gathering their things in their small traveling bag while Rose caressed Ethara, the Summers’ cat in her arms. The little orange ball of fur was purring oh so delightfully, closing its eyes under her touch. Roselyn’s forest green eyes were watching Tom pack a soft warm smile on her lips, such simple things he would do yet, he always managed to look like a dream to her eyes. Rose was sitting on his bed, leaning against the fluffy feather pillows, her feet slightly moving to a beat. Music was playing in his bedroom, “Self-stirring cauldron” from Banshee.

“I hope we will not forget anything…” She said looking around the room to perhaps find one of her belongings.
“If so, you know my parents will send it over.” Responded Tom with a slight shrug as he folded a sweater.
Roselyn lifted the cat who looked rather drugged under her touch. “I am going to miss you silly thing!” She rubbed her nose against its own and then looked up to Tom with those shinny big green eyes…
“No Rose, we are not take’n Ethara with us.” He said ruffling her hair, many curls in her face now. She blew them out of her face.
“Was worth a try. Huh? Wasn’t it?? Oui oui! » Her voice went in a very different tone as she addressed the cat. Tom simple smiled rolling his eyes as he finished packing their things and the gifts were in a separate bag.

Image

Kings Cross was full of, well Muggles really along with a couple classmates and their parents. Rose always felt it odd when seeing a parent of a classmate, you could see the similarities with their child. Then she came to wonder, if the parents were as troublesome, smart, talented as their child. Or, there was the surprise as well, when one would imagine a tall father there would be a rather tiny mustached wizard, or the mother would look nothing like her daughter… Well Roselyn always had that weird feeling when seeing or meeting parents.

Platform 9 ¾ , between nine and ten as she had known for the last seven years, seven already? Rose and Tom took hands before taking a sprint into the brick wall and as they went though, she closed her eyes tightly as she had always done. Several students were already on board, some saying goodbye to the ones they loved… Owls hooted, cats meowed along with laughter and the trains humming steam engine ready to leave on time… Tom was leading the way while her green eyes were looking up and to the train, looking everywhere… A certain feeling had crept up on her, this was perhaps one of the last times she would take the train to Hogwarts… And she felt sad. Hogwarts was her Home, a place she had found friends in, it’s library was her sanctuary, it’s kitchens her weakness, it’s twisting secret passages were familiar, the Gryffindor Tower was a place to relax, it’s gardens always had something new to see… Yes, she like many had fallen in love with the castle of Hogwarts.

Tom was telling her to pace up! As he pulled her hand, bags in the other pushing though the parents to get to the last door that was still open. (Still open because the young man had yelled ever so politely; to keep the bloody door open.) They jumped in immediately walking towards the prefect compartments. Then it hit her, she loved the castle too much to leave it behind to never go again. She did not want to be like the other parents, and that was to be left behind at Kings Cross station, awaiting letters that tell about the castle and it’s magic.

Image

Non. It was clear now to her, that she couldn’t leave it; it had become a part of her. “Why not?” She had thought to herself. Her father was an expert in Dragons, her mother a known expert in Herbology as a researcher… She too could exceed expectations like she had done for her o.w.l.s, n.e.w.t.s were approaching and she knew she would have to exile herself once more in the library. The past months had been busy due to certain events, she knew she had much, MUCH to study if she wanted to get the grades she used to…

As the landscape changed and the daylight was fading away, she looked to her companion a worried expression on her face, she laid her hand upon his and smiled weakly.. As if trying to give him the support he needed… He squeezed it slightly looking to her and looking back out the window, and again she felt powerless to his depression. The train was coming to the end of its journey, they changed getting into their Gryffindor robes, she wrapped her house colors around her neck and straightened Tom’s prefect badge… He got off the train carrying their unique bag a hand stretched out towards her to help her off the train. She wrapped an arm around his and they walks towards the carriages.

She gasped! A rather large creature of horse features, bony and dead looking was pulling the carriages. Her green eyes widened as she wondered why she had not seen them before and then she remembered her Magical creature lessons.
“Tom?” She asked. “Are… Is that a Thestral?”
Tom frowned slightly, he had forgotten being used to seeing them every year or every Hogsmead trip that Roselyn had just been recently exposed to death. It saddened him greatly that she had to deal with such things, he would have liked to protect her from them… “Yes Rose, that is a Thestral…” his hand tightened around her shoulder, his sky blue eyes looking down at her sadly.

Image

As they neared the castle she could not help but stare at the Thestral pulling the carriage, she wrapped herself tightly in her cloak, almost afraid of it. They made her feel uncomfortable and think of the reason of why she could see them… Of the green flash of light… her screams… She shook her head to chase the thought away she tried to look in another direction to avoid the Threstrals. Rare were those who saw death, those who did had a new vision upon the world a dark one… “Thestrals are very rare, and are considered dangerous by the Ministry of Magic. Thestrals are, undeservedly, known as omens of misfortune and aggression by many wizards because they are visible only to those who have witnessed death (and fully accepted the concept) or due to their somewhat grim, gaunt and ghostly appearance”

That is was the text books said, but to her Thestrals were the begining of a new vision of the World.

Ghosts. “In their paranormal state, ghosts are unable to cause much physical influence. They are visible, and appear as a greyish-silver apparition of their former (living) selves. They may not touch or physically move objects, however in passing through an object, they may impart a sensation of icy coldness.”

She tried to reassure herself with the text books… “A ghost, as I trust that you are all aware by now, is the imprint of a departed soul left upon the earth.” Snape had said during a class… But none of this reassured her at all. The deaths of creatures in the forest, that cat that looked dissected for a magical sacrifice, that little ghost girl with her flutes…. Nothing was normal at all in that forest. Finding the Head boy in the forest the day of all the killings did not make her feel any better, nor did it for Tom. The redhead had dragged him into going into the forest, telling him that they needed to look, to investigate… Also that he was rather boring since he became prefect, it must have been that that pushed him to walk into the dark forest.

It was still winter and they were in their winter cloaks and scarf’s, wands at the ready. Roselyn had a hunch and she knew that perhaps ‘Lavender’ was behind all of this.
“Look.” Rose had said pointing out the all the dead animal corpses. Tom got closer to them to observe, it looked like they had just dropped lifeless… “It like, they just… died. For no reason.” Tom nodded his head and continued to follow her deeper into the forest. Avoiding the dead animals, she tip toed and hopped over many before reaching that one part of the forest where it had started. More and more dead animals covered the grounds, it was clear to her that the Lavender ghost was somehow linked to this. It was cold, and a thick mist floated around them in the ruins of that place. Old graves, homes falling apart, debris and now the dead animals only increased its eeriness.

And they saw her! The little ghost with her flutes, Roselyn’s head seemed to stop, and the silence of the woods fell upon them. She did not seem to notice them as she walked away from her normal spot, into the forest where wicked creatures roamed. Rose gave Tom a look and he nodded his wand still out as they followed her. They had casted invisible charms on themselves, holding eachothers hand to not lose the other. The snow and leaves crunched under their feet as they walked deeper into the forest. Suddenly! She vanished! Gone.

Image

Twas soon after that, that many many Gytrash came walking one behind the other. Roselyn had stopped breathing; they were walking around them as if circling them… A Gytrash is a spectral dog that only comes out at night. This very fast and dangerous specter has a long forked tail. More ghosts and specters… The Gytrash is sensitive to light, which is why they take into hiding into the forests. It was known that Gytrash roamed in the forbidden forest, but Rose had never seen one so close and so many! Their main priority was to get out alive… Goosebumps were all over her skin and she felt Tom squeeze her hand very tightly tugging slightly. They walked carefully; each step was calculated and brought them farther and farther away from the specters…

Never before had she seen such a sight and she did not feel comfortable in having so many dangerous creatures near the school they had only made it thanks to their invisible charms. Without it, they would have been Gytrash food… And Tom had made it clear to her that she was not to go alone into the forest, not with something so big going on… She had accepted, but only because she knew that he had been intrigued and that he would investigate further with her…. The forest was dangerous, even more than before perhaps, why? Well that was still to be known…

Roselyn ran directly to the library after their discussion with the head boy, her wand out pointing it here and there, books floating behind her… She reached a table and the books dropped themselves one by one on it. “Ghostly visions” “How to get rid of Ghosts” “Magical Dangerous Creatures” “The Darkarts” “Rituals and sacrifices” and many more.
Some students looked over their homework and essays to look at Red, or more like the mountain of books that where hiding Red. She had ignored them, much to busy in her reading flipping the pages to find the chapter about the Gytrash… “Ah.” She muttered under her breath bringing the book closer to her leaning back in the chair.

After reading this she looked up to the ceiling deep in thought… Strange. Strange that they would appear suddenly, and why now? Was it Lavender? It was all a blur and she would soon grow worried enough to see a teacher about it…

Friendship. A bond between two people who accord absolute trust and can tell the deepest secrets. Being someone’s friend can also involve defending that person when needed, or helping them, and that’s exactly what Roselyn Synders had always done, and still strives to do…

When hearing the news from Renée’s own mouth, Red felt the need to do something for her, it wasn’t a need, it was an urge. More than ever, Roselyn had her nose stuck in books. She had looked through all the shelves finding everything that had to do with Vampires and took them to the common room, it was quite a sight. A mountain of books hid her from others in the common room as she read. Roselyn was worried, so worried it made her sick and she even skipped dinner. She gave a very dark look to a group of girls in the common room who were acting out how the vampire got hold of Eve. Red got up from her seat and let them have it.

You four!” She roared “Get in your rooms! I hear more of this rubbish I swear I’ll make sure a vampire bites those stupid smiles off!!” She was so angry that they didn’t have to look twice before getting up to go to their rooms, muttering things like; ‘She’s mad she is!’ ‘What a looser.’…
And all of you!” She shouted to the others “I hear that any of you, throw holy water on miss Grant, I’ll make sure you have detention! Stop being ridiculous and please be more empathic! She was attacked! A thirteen year old was kidnapped and attacked! Get that though your systems! And if any of you would study Defense against the dark arts properly you –would- know that you –cannot- become a vampire like that!” And she went back to her books as the common room went silent.

She turned the pages roughly, annoyed by everyone’s attitude, if she was a prefect, those girls would have gotten detention easily. Then the young Montrose, who had just gotten there, started to play the piano. It would have been fine if she hadn’t started to sing a certain song. Roselyn collected her things and brought them up to her bedroom.

As the door clicked, Garion zoomed out of the room eager to get out. She yelled out she was sorry and she heard a low hiss as if he wasn’t about to forgive her so soon… She stacked the books next to the desk where she took out quills and inkwells, ready to take notes…

“Vampires are classified as beings by the Ministry of Magic, a fact that led both the centaurs and merpeople to decline the same status since they did not wish to be associated with them, or hags. They are not considered to be wizards, and the treatment of vampires is laid down in the Ministry's Guidelines for the Treatment of Non-Wizard Part-Humans. Vampires have rights in the wizarding world, but not all share that view. Vampire hunters exist and have to be paid greatly…
There are many ways to kill a vampire, such as a garlic brew, wooden stakes and holy water, sunlight… Vampires are sensitive to light and will burn under the UV’s…
Vampire attacks are known to occur, when they do not take their “medication” a potion that mixes all types of creature blood including, pig blood. If bitten, if not treated soon enough the bite can infect and the victim can become a vampire. If treated, the threat is non existent but still should be disinfected daily.
Anti-Vampire charms exist but mostly have been banned from shops due to paragraph twelve of the Guidelines for the Treatment of Non-Wizard Part-Humans clearly forbids such a policy. But in the black markets these charms still exist. Wearing an anti vampire charm can be punished by the minestry if the wearer doesn’t have a good reason to be wearing it…”

Roselyn thought for a moment… Her eyes looking to a drawing of vampire teeth. That is when Tom came in and kissed her neck softly as he took off his robes hanging them. He loosened his tie and slumped into an armchair.

“What ‘cha doing there Rose?” He asked closing his eyes.
“Just trying to figure out how to make an anti-vampire charm, or where to buy one. I think Knockturn alley seems like the right place.”
What?” He asked alarmed, opening his eyes instantly. “Ya can’t do that Rose. Its against the law!”
Mais Oui!” She exclaimed “And eating little girls is to, the law is not doing anything against that bastard is it?!” She snapped, as she slammed her book shut angrily.
“This is about Evelyn isn’t it?” He said calmly getting up from his seat massaging her shoulders for her to relax. “They are working on it Rose.” He said in her ear. “An’ there are enough people walking around here with garlic to chasse any vampire away. Don’t worry so much.”
Don’t worry so much?!
Ya!” He said in the same tone, spinning her chair to face him, and he continued in a softer tone. “I know ya care Rose and your heart is init, but please stop worrying about everything and everyone. ‘N I know what I’m saying to you is useless you are probably going it over in your head right now.” He said with a grin poking her nose. She smiled weakly. “Just don’t go making any charms Rose, garlic works just as good.”
“I know… I just want to do my part.” She said softly looking to her knees. He lifted her chin and pressed his lips on hers.
“I know, and that’s what you do.” He whispered as he lifted himself up walking to the bed, letting himself fall on it, grinning softly.

She scribbled more information on paper before joining him, Tom held her tight in his arms thinking that if a vampire had bitten his girlfriend he’d most likely burn the thing to hell. He grinned to this thought imagining all the different ways to burn the creature, but he was interrupted when he felt her snuggle against him. Roselyn’s mind was swarming in thought, she’d find something, she knew it…

Quidditch: Quidditch is a very popular wizarding game where the seven players are mounted on broomsticks. The game is simple and played on a field that consists of six large golden hoops, each player has their own task, there is the Keeper. The keeper ‘keeps’ the goal hoops and with block any Quaffle that comes near. The Quaffle, a large orange ball that must go through the hoop in order to score 10 points each time. The Chasers are the only ones who can touch the Quaffle, there are three in the team and they make creative passes to avoid the other team and score a goal. But these players can be stopped by bludgers, Bludgers are smaller than the Quaffle and there are two of them, they are there to knock players off their broomsticks, the ones who can control these vicious balls are the beaters. The Beaters literally beat the bludger around with clubs, as they try to control it to knock off the opposite teams players. And, last but not least there is the Seeker. The Seeker can earn his team 150 points and his action will end the game, the seeker must catch the Golden snitch. The Golden snitch, the smallest ball of them all carries golden wings and is very hard to see because of its incredible speed.

Summer was nearing and as the days passed the warmer and nicer it got at Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry. Students were becoming lazy as they would lie in the grass under the Scottish sun, some would even take a dip in the lake. But it wasn’t the moment to become lazy, exams were nearing stressing more than one out. But, Roselyn didn’t have time to worry; she was much to exited thinking about something else. As of late the redhead could only be seen in her Quidditch robes, accompanied by Tom Summers they couldn’t seem to let go of their broom sticks and quaffles. Roselyn and Tom would even race each other all the way to the Quidditch pitch scarring more than one first year on the way, cheery laughter could be heard as they passed. It was becoming so out of hand that Professor Mcgonagall had to tell them herself to calm down.

Sundown was nearing and they had been at it all afternoon, zooming back and forth doing passes and even commenting their own moves. Trying to get better and faster than ever! They zoomed all over the pitch passing the Quaffle and trying out some new moves, moves they both got from Quidditch books they both had been reading.

No no Rose, it’s more curved to the left, let me show ya.” Said Tom, the Quaffle under his arm, sitting on his broomstick his feet on the golden support his Gryffindor robes whipping the wind. He rose high in the air at fast pace and made a half circle in the sky as he threw the Quaffle in the opposite direction to where he was heading. Rose caught the Quaffle since it was thrown at her. “See ya have ta distract them!” His blue eyes twinkled proudly as he saw his girlfriend catch it with ease.

“Isn’t that too fancy though?” She called a back. The Quaffle under her arm, her long curly fire hair tied back in a ponytail, leather gloves on for protection, along with her goggles. She always seemed to find all the insects so raining or not she would wear them.
“To fancy?” He asked as he got close to her. “You’re the one say’n that? You’re the crazy one who –jumps- off her broom.” He said with a chuckle messing up her hair. She grumbled to this and through the Quaffle with both hands to his stomach with a smirk. And without warning she spined upside down and dived towards the ground and pull up a couple meters before the ground. She turned and he had already thrown the Quaffle, she caught it and zoomed towards the goal posts her heart pounding in her chest the wind making her red flaming hair fly wildly. Tom had got in front of her and stopped dead as she flew by him passing the Quaffle behind her, allowing him to catch it and score!

SUMMERS SCORES!!!” They both yelled at the same time high fiving, laughing.

They raced to see who would get the Quaffle first by Tom stopped smirking letting her get it. She picked it up and looked up towards him, they were both extremely sweaty and the skies were now shades of pink, violet and orange. For a moment they just stared at each other and then a grin formed on his lips. “We did good work Synders! Lets hit the showers.”

Drying their hair, wrapped in a fluffy yellow towels Rose and Tom were in deep discussion in the locker room, laughter would echo on the walls along with zooming noises. They were commenting the training that had come to pass.

“I cannot believe we’re going!” Suddenly said Red, excitedly.
“And that we might be get’n super awesome spots!” Added Tom pecking her bare neck as he passed by her to get dressed.
“Angel is a brilliant Seeker, this is going to be brilliant!” She said hoping up and down.
“Brilliant? Its going to be awesome!!” He exclaimed from behind a door.
“I’ve been saving up for the cool stuff they sell during the games!” She was now combing her hair undoing all the knots, it was quite hard work. Her hair was getting very long, she was considering cutting it… “You know, like figurines and stuff!” then she gasped! “You think they will have mini Angel’s?” She heard a laugh.
“Oh Liss is going to Love that.” He said sarcastically.

“And the mascots! And I heard that the tents are awesome!” She said fighting with a knot, tugging at it impatiently. Tom had came out, his blond hair still wet he took her hand and the comb and helped her with the horrible knots.
“You’ve never seen a wizard tent?” She shook her head, telling him that apparently Angel’s family had a tent with twenty rooms, she seemed slightly confused. “Well see, wizards like space, the tents are enchanted to have rooms and its pretty much like a house ya? Some are such show off they have Jacuzzis an other silly things.”
“I never went camping, my father would take me out to his dragon expeditions when I was a kid, but we would stay at his old fort thing.”
“Fort thing?” He raised his eye brows surprised still dealing with her long hair. “ Ya never told me your Dad has ‘a castle.”
“Its mostly ruins.” She said waving it off. “He keeps all sorts of dragon related things in there, teeth, horns, claws, bones, blood, scales you name it he has it.”
“Dragon boggies?” He asked looking for knots, looking hopeful finally he was don- no there was another.
Pfft, he probably does.” She said not noticing Tom’s frustration with her hair. She got up and started to dress as well and Tom did a victory sign when he finished helping his girl with her abnormally long hair. “Don’t worry, I plan on trimming it.” She said turning to him with a smile. “Its getting everywhere and if I’m not carful it will choke me in my sleep.”
“Or me for that manner.”
“We don’t want that.” She said poking his nose but he grabbed her to spin her around and kiss her and then grabbed her over his shoulder in the caveman way, grabbing their broomsticks marching out.

Words like “Let me go!” “Please?” “ToOoooom!” could be heard in the Hogwarts grounds as he marched her back to the castle. “If you don’t put me down-!”
“Ya’ll do what? Go –Tooooom! Eeeeee!” he mimicked her voice mockingly making her grumble even more, but it was a fake grumble, in fact she was enjoying the whole thing, and they both knew it. Some third years watched the scene as he walked through the entrance hall with her still over his shoulder, into a hallway…

Field trips. ‘A field trip or excursion, known as school trip in the UK and school tour in Ireland, is a journey by a group of people to a place away from their normal environment.’ And indeed, all Hogwarts students were leaving the normal environment of the school to see the Quidditch World cup! Tents had been rented in advance, and the excitement was becoming boiling water with a lid, ready to explose!

« Tom where did you put your toothbrush ?! » She hissed a stressed out voice from the prefect Gryffindor boys bedroom.
“In tha inner pocket to tha left Rose.” Responded the prefect. “Hey, here's a thought: Why don't you save all that energy for tha match?"

Everyone who was attending the Quidditch World cup, had been packing their things all exited and getting ready to go. Banners were being worn as capes, face painting packed, fireworks and other loud things that are used during sports games were ready! The Gryffindors were extremely wild, some even jumping off the chairs, some already using some Weasley products! It was complete chaos, but it was all good fun.

Roselyn had changed the color of her nails that very day, one hand baring the Irish colors, the other Wales. People where somehow offended saying she would have to choose! But she refused! Both teams had great players!

In the bedroom, Red was counting Tom’s tshirts, lining them up. They had both agreed to one bag, and also to pack for the other. It was amusing, mostly for Tom to do this.
“An’ I’ll add this…” He said slyly putting a lacy piece of clothing in the suitcase. “And this one…” a red satin piece of clothing. “Oh and this one…” That one didn’t seem to have much on it.
TOM!” She yelled rather red in the face, lifting a finger dangerously. “Those are not comfortable!”
“Oh I wasn’t aim’n for tha” He said chuckling with a smug look on his face. She whacked him on the shoulder taking the garments and putting them away. “Ah common! Just one?”
No.” She said firmly. “I –will- charm all your clothes to be pink if you do!”
“You wouldn’t.” He said calmly, putting them back in the suitcase after folding them provokingly.
“I would, Summers. And you’ll be all cute! And fluffy looking!”
“Not like Matt Pace!” He said laughing. “Okay! okay I’ll take ‘em out!” He said after she threatened her wand to his favorite shirts.

Red then insisted they buy fireworks, but Tom said his magic was better than any old firework! And then Rose insisted they wear matching outfits to the cup! After a long while of listening to her he finally accepted, giving in, it was pointless…

After an hour of packing, they were going through the checklist, Rose sitting on the bed, Tom speaking:
“Toothbrushes an’ paste.”
“Check!” She said nodding.
“Ten pairs of socks!”
“Check!” She said after counting them.
“Quidditch robes!”
“Double check!”
“Underwear!”
“Yes!”
“Pants!”
“Shirts!”
“Yes!”
“The just in case its cold shirts!”
Umm… yes. What about pillows?”
“Can conjure’em.” He said shaking his head. “Broomsticks!” She pointed to their two broomsticks both laying next to the suitcase. “Looks like that’s it.”
What about the butterbeer!” She exclaimed.
“What butterbeer?” He said innocently, with a smirk.

They had to sit on it together to be able to close it, they high fived to their victory and Tom opened the cabinet and handed her a bottle of butterbeer. The two relaxed in the arm chairs laughing happily and not caring of the random firework explosions heard downstairs. She was already trying to imagine the tents…

The World cup, part 1

Roselyn had made breakfast for everyone, now that she had the occasion to cook and a kitchen to cook in she wasn’t going to let it pass! She gathered flour, sugar, baking powder, vanilla extract, milk, eggs and milk. It was around four am when she started to dose the ingredients out, calculating one hundred helpings of pancakes… She’d need, twelve eggs, two and a half kilograms of flour, one hundred and fifty grams of baking powder, four liters of milk, five hundred and thirty grams of melted butter, one hundred and fifty five grams of sugar, seventy five grams of salt, and tons of vanilla extract. In fact, she didn’t know the extracts measurements… so she’d go with the feeling?

She added all the ingredients in five different bowls, being extra careful to not wake everyone up, they were snoozing away in their bunks. She added strawberries in one bowl, blueberries in another, bananas in another and then stirred them manually, she put five greased pans on the stove and pointed her wand at them, cooking five of each manually and then putting them on five separate plates… She flicked ten times her wand and watched her work grinning. The batter spilt itself on the pans and cooked, and the pan would put the pancakes on the plates… More than once the pancakes burnt until she got the hang of it. After watching it for over ten minutes and feeling assured that it would run smoothly now, she cut up a lot of oranges and then flicked her wand at the orange, she then pressed it manually to get all the juice out in a pitcher, and then flicked again… The oranges were pressing themselves and filling the pitchers. She would have been happy if the oranges wouldn’t miss the pitches sometimes creating a very big mess…

Then she made coffee… and that was the hardest thing she had ever done, first she had to crunch the coffee beans and she got some all over the floor cursing quietly, she then burnt herself with the boiling water, and slipped on the coffee beans on the floor making a loud crash. …silence. She didn’t dare move, but the snoring continued… nobody woke up… She grumbled and continued to make the stupid coffee as she called it, and also made tea…

The smells were so delicious that some students were awaking from their slumber to discover a hard working Roselyn in the kitchens. She set the tables and finally when everything was done and ready let herself fall in an arm chair. The students at the smell got all exited and ran towards the tables all eating their pancakes happly, it made them happy and that were her reward. Roselyn ate later with her friends and Evelyn in particular was excited about the blueberries pancakes, Joshua was enjoying himself too eating a lot!

Tents. Loads of tents all around, swarming with wizards from all around the world ! A melting magical pot! Everyone decorated the front of their tents differently, cultures were exposed, and it actually seemed to look like a competition to who had the nicest tent of them all. Hot tubes, white peacocks, automatic fireworks that would go off every time someone passed by! It was wild!
But all around the Hogwarts tent where plenty of overexcited students. Each had their own stories, their own worries, dreams and drama. Oh yes, drama. It seems that when you have a concentration of teenagers in one place drama overflows from everywhere. Nice things would happen yes, but also mean pranks and insults were exchanged. Other boys tried to make moves on girls who were already called for, one was persecuted for his sexuality, an engagement was made, new friends teamed up for a creation, and friendships tightened. All that, in just a few days time.

Before all this chaos was known to the redhead, she had never been so hyper she couldn’t stop herself from walking around again and again to meet people, see the fireworks and she would occasionally have to avoid the naked Scot’s man. The weird feeling of seeing other student’s parents washed over her again when she saw the Walker family, passing by the tent the sign read “Beware, exploding husband.” Tom had suggested she not ask and she agreed to that. She met some girls her age from Beauxbâtons and she actually didn’t find these girls snobby at all, in fact they invited her to join them for a game of Quidditch! More than once she would stumble on people’s decorations and even stepped on a peacocks foot, it chassed her around the camp for more than fifteen minutes screaming “éon éon éon!!!” trying to peak at her backside.

That is when she stumbled on a rather grumpy looking old lady who drew her wand calling Red a stupid Mudblood coward, and shot burning sparks to the raged bird who ran away instantly. Roselyn was town between two feelings; she was thankful but also didn’t like the words that was used against her.
“Thanks, Madame, but no thanks for the Mudblood comment.” She said raising a brow.
Filth!” She spat, tucking her wand away her old eyes darting to the Hogwarts tent, in front there were plenty of laughing students sitting in a circle. “Scum!
“Listen, not to sound disrespectful but, you do not know their blood status, nor does it even matter.”
Rubbish!” Spat old Mrs Penward to Red, then looking at her closely. “What’s your name girl?!” Her thin mouth tightened as her judgmental stare was upon her.
“Synders.” She said instantly slightly worried what the old lady was going to do next. Pureblood extremists made her uneasy. The old woman looked deep in though and then:
Aaah yes… Donnell Synders girl aren’t you? Saw him earlier…” Red responded with a nod. “A girl of your blood status shouldn’t been with those mudbloods!” She screeched, as Roselyn jumped slightly to this. The old woman passed by the Hogwarts tent the words: “Scum of the earth!” “Bloodtraitors!” “Mudbloods” “Freaks!” directed to the students who were minding their own business. They scowled and frowned but knew better so they held their tongue. Roselyn on the other hand was watching the old woman walk away with a feeling of worry in her stomach. Her father… here?

***

It was then that Red stayed in the Hogwarts tent, only to assist the starting of what would be a very long day of drama. Everything was going well of course before that, she had formed a secret crochet making group with Rufus. He was an interesting young man, he seemed to love crafts, was likeable and his hair was something she envied him for. She wished her curls would like as nice everyday… Roselyn was teaching him how to crochet and indeed, he was a fast learner! Very fast indeed, it was pleasing to see someone else not using magic to create something.

Then her boyfriend came along and they went for a walk during that walk they met a lot of interesting witches and wizards and even saw small children on mini broomsticks. Tom then gave Red a certain look, a warm smile and his one armed hug tightened around her. Oh she knew what he was thinking! And for the moment she didn’t like that idea, in fact, she dragged them away as fast as she could from the children.

And then she found vendors of all sorts and squealed excitedly, dragging Tom by the hand everywhere running. There was so much to see that she would need more than one pair of eyes to be able to actually see everything! The crowd was huge, people where setting off fireworks again and the Irish supporters were going wild playing their fiddles while others danced around! Tom grabbed her arm and they danced around in a circle with the others laughing happily! When they finally pushed their way through to see the vendors they saw all sorts of Ireland and Wales merchandise!

Scarves, tee shirts, beers, whiskeys, pint glasses, fireworks, robes, brooms, candy, hats, and other trinkets… There were little figurines of the Wales and Ireland mascots that would play their national hymn while dancing. Red and Tom went crazy when they got to the candy booth. She had bought two bags full of tiny sugar golden snitches that would actually zoom around! Jaw breakers bludger deluxe, (that would indeed try to break your jaw while sucking on them) Irish truffles that would make your tongue green for ages! Exploding bubble gum that when you blew a bubble firework like sparks would explode from your mouth! Tom had also bought tons of candy, his sweet tooth got the better of him while he filled his backpack with the candy they had just got.

Rose was busy counting the money her Mother had sent her for the occasion, along with her Christmas and birthday money, Tom was waving a hand as if telling her not to worry! Indeed his parents had also treated him, that and Red was being silly. She had a small fortune in her hands, impossible for her to spend everything in one day, at least he hoped. And then they got to the Quidditch supply booth and them both where so overexcited Tom nearly pushed a girl over when reaching it. “Hey Rose! We gotta buy these!” He said pointing to a pile of brass looking binoculars with a lot of odd looking knobs. Roselyn tilted her head; she had seen these before in a book but couldn’t recall what they were right now. Her brain was swimming with excitement and couldn’t really concentrate. “Omnioculars!” He said seeing her confusion. “Ya know! Ta watch tha match ‘n some moves in slow motion!” Roselyn looked at the price tag and frowned.
“They are really expensive Tom…” She said putting her hands in her pockets. “We should just buy one together, five galleons each.” He agreed to that and they decided they would get turns with the Omnioculars, they first tested five of them before buying. You never knew, perhaps some were not working properly! And they didn’t want anything to spoil the match! Roselyn whacked Toms shoulder when she saw what he was replaying over and over.
There was an Irish woman dancing and her bosom was indeed, dancing with her. After many whacks and many “yours are better”, Red smiled again and stopped hitting him. And to her surprise, while they split up for a moment, he returned with what looked like a traditional Irish green dress. She folded her arms but couldn’t help but smile, and she had bought him the Wales Quidditch robes. They were meant to be comfortable, resistant to water; cold and they had the Gryffindor colors. She told him they could do some magical modifications once they got back. They had also bought pints and a very good brand of Irish whiskey, they would be using these… They ate ice-cream on their way back to the tents, laughing and dodging fireworks every so often.

Later that afternoon, Tom went to run around with Sapphire before having to go with his parents to dine with family friends while Red stayed with the Hogwarts students. She was keeping an eye open, hoping nothing bad would happen, what she didn’t expect however, was that in fact the drama was going to come to her door. Not only had it come to her door but it made her feel awful. Indeed, someone had been fancying her, and being naïve about this sort of thing she believed he was only trying to be her friend. And like the fireworks outside, the mood in the Hogwarts tent was explosive. Chance Ferrin was getting completely out of hand, casting at students, punching them with a very angry Roselyn yelling and cursing at him. Indeed, Ferrin seemed to like Roselyn even if he had a rather odd way of showing it.

And once drama kicked in Roselyn was beyond herself. Chance had made her feel horrible, she felt that it was her fault that he liked her and now was moody and sad. But when she heard that Chance already had a girlfriend that’s when the thorns showed. She went right into his room and gave him a piece of her mind! How dare he try to make her feel horrible? How dare he tell her she was “intoxicating” when he was with another! How dare he give her any crap at all!

That’s when Walker had to put his nose into it, and get Ferrin even madder then he already was. Indeed, rumors of Steven being gay had been created by Chance apparently, and Steven had made a joke about him going out with the very mad young man who was standing in front of her. Before she could stop it, Chance drew his wand; Duro’d Walker, and punched him square in the nose. Walker’s girlfriend Ashlee who was there, didn’t even lift a finger against Ferrin to Red’s great displeasure… It was Red's turn to stun Ferrin as she yelled and screamed at him more, warning him that if she saw him cast on another student again she’d deal with him herself. Prefects were notified, and the Exploding Walker Husband was very angry indeed.

The World cup part 2

Roselyn was so angry that she decided to go to the Quidditch invitation the French girls had offered her, get some fresh air before she murder Ferrin or something. Summoning the firebolt, she walked off through the forest to a clearing, the French girls where already there in their light blue robes. Zooming around, they had bought the fancy spark kit for broomsticks and blue streams of light and sparkles followed after them. Tom had bought some for the whole Gryffindor team, the colors of his house, he said that if they won the cup they would show off.

Image

“Oh Roselyn!” Shouted Emeline spotting her. “On a besoin d’un attrapeur! Tu sais faire?” Rose’s heart gave a leap, they wanted her to play seeker ! She nodded and shouted that she would get on her broomstick. The French girls got her ready, attaching the sparkle kit on Tom's broomstick; they also have her gloves and goggles… They each presented themselves;

Mathildewas a tall strong looking girl whos nose looked like it had been broken once or twice, she was one of the beaters. Aude was shorter than Mathilde and had very short boyish hair, the beater bat over her shoulder.
Audrey, Olivia, and Aurore were triplets, blonde and pretty girls, they were chassers. Triplet chasers was a brilliant idea to her, they would have perfect coordination!
And finally there was Emeline, the keeper, she was also pretty and had a boyish hair cut with wild colors in her hair.

They were playing against some Chinese students who wore oriental looking robes of silk red and yellow with hoods. The Chinese students were very friendly;
Duyi and Fa, both were short and played Beaters. Fa looked rather smug though…
Chen, Gui, Chao were the Chassers.
Bolin was the Keeper.
Liu was their Seeker, he had dyed his hair light blond the top was green with spikes, he had a dragon scale piercing in her ear… And then she noticed he was wearing purple eye contacts and thought he actually looked: cool.

It was a French boy who was keeping the score up with shinny golden numbers. They had set up portable hoops that weren’t as high as the ones in the Pitch, but would do for a small friendly game. She stayed above the game watching, it was very odd, she wasn’t doing figures or hitting the Quaffle around, just looking around for the Snitch… She realized it wasn’t as exciting as being a Chasser, she had gotten used to all the action… She then considering pretending she saw the snitch, she grinned wickedly when she saw Liu following her closely. She had taken Tom’s firebolt and there was no way in hell he’d catch up with her. She had fun dodging the other players making them literally eat her sparks.

The score so far was 30 for France - 40 for China.

These spark kits were nice to look at but weren’t very practical when looking for a shinny snitch.
Chen and Gui tossed the quaffle around and recognized their moves and smiled watching, they would keep changing position one up the other down and they would switch, avoiding the Triplets, the Chinese beaters had taken both bludgers! They passed them quickly and joined in with a hard hit towards Olivia who almost caught their Quaffle. Red had to dodge more than once the bludger as they passed. The third Chinese chasser, Chao stayed behind. And then, Gui was going to score!!! But threw it suddenly back to Chao who caught it and tossed it in the left goal post! Red had saw that coming, unlike her teammates who cursed laughing. The Chinese chassers high-fived!

30 - 50

It was the French triplets turn to show them how it was done, Red called that move the spinning cork. The three together would form a shield around the Quaffle spinning towards the goalposts. It was impossible to know who would score with the quaffle once they separated! Once they got close enough, they separated rapidly and the Quaffle was thrown and used to hit the keeper in the head, it bounced off his head making him fall off in surprise, Aurore caught it and threw it in the center hoop, Olivia caught it after it went though and scored again, it was Audrey’s turn to score but a bludger zoomed dangerously to her hand and the Chinese chasers got the Quaffle back! That was a sneaky move, Red had thought, then again they were French girls…

40 - 50

Keeper Bolin preformed a very good save this time, using his broom to hit the Quaffle in mid air. It was so spectacular that her jaw dropped. And then… she saw it! There was the snitch! Near the Chinese right goal post so near the ground… She decided to pretend she didn’t see it, still flying slowly towards it… Liu was busy mocking the French beaters who were now trying to hit him. It was the moment! She dived and gained speed!! The Chinese beaters saw this and yelled at Liu who dived after her! The Snitch, minding its own business near the grass didn’t know that it was about to be fallen on… Liu and Red bumped into each other and fell off their broomsticks, Red let out a yelp as she hit the ground with all her weight. Liu fell farther away from her his broom hitting him hard on the head. The firebolt rolled near her and she felt something against her stomach. Her nose bleeding she sniffled and looked under her, the snitched zoomed out from under her slightly damaged! She got to her feet grabbing the broom and taking off again blood going in her mouth.

The Snitch did its best to speed up zooming around near the ground, getting tired of it she tried to get closer by sliding on her broomstick, getting her feet stuck in the handles to not fall off. Liu finally got back on his broom mud all over his front and was going after her.
The Snitch rose into the air and still on the edge she was almost reaching it! Nearly there!! And then in stopped and went under her, and she did something that scared Tom Summers so badly she’d never hear the end of it! Indeed, Tom had gotten there mid game and even saw her fall, he stayed with the French little score keeper and watched her, his arms crossed. She was using his firebolt… But that wasn’t the problem, his girlfriend was also bleeding and he didn’t like that, plus that crazy mud Chinese kid was dangerously gaining speed in her direction. When he saw the snitch stop and go under her, he gasped in fear when he saw her flip over upside down letting go with her hands, her feet being the only connection to her broomstick! ! ! He took his wand out ready for her to fall off... She dangled dangerously upside down for a couple of second when diving towards the ground she caught it! And yelled in victory! Grabbing the broom with her hand and turning it back normally she was rawring in victory!

Saying things like “eat my dust Liu!!” “SYNDERS WINS!!!” “RAWR!!” Tom felt his heart still pounding with fear, but something was also there, he was proud. His girlfriend was the craziest person he knew on a broomstick, anything to win. He had tried to get it out of her system but that’s maybe what made her a great player, not caring if she got hurt or not. Tom left without letting her know he was there, grinning but still shaking slightly muttering something like “that’s my girl.

The French girls hurdled around her cheering and so where the Chinese they were astonished at her performance. A real crazy girl, but all the same a crazy performance. “You ar’ crayzy Rose!” Said Emeline. “Ze area wasn’t even echantid! You could ‘ave rilly urt yourself!” And the teens still all happy and exited from the game all went to buy rounds of butter beer and ice-cream. They laid there in the grass lazily for a long moment before Red said she had to go. She was sweaty, bloody and dirty and they all agreed to meet up again the next day.
When she got back to the Hogwarts tent, there was an awful smell, along with a lot of unanimated stuffed puffskeins… Students told her that a Ravenclaw kid named Tristan had pranked them with farting stuffed animal puffskeins…
What will they invent next?

The World cup part 3

Night was falling and Tom, once he had gotten back, was chasing Red around when he caught her in his arms and kept her close to him. Its then that she confessed to him the way she had been feeling. He reassured his girlfriend that not everyone hated her and that he’d talk to Ferrin himself if something happened again. And then to change her ideas, he drew his wand and aimed it skyward. With a small upward flick of the wrist he summoned a lithe lint of flame that swiftly shot up, continuously changing color: from vivid reds to lush greens all the way through to playful flashes of yellow... He twirled his wand in an elegant manner; the rope of flame followed his directions as if it were an orchestra with him as its conductor. He winked to Rose before he continued, his fiery lint soon forming an elegant, loopy handwriting in the sky. “R...OS....E...LYN....SY...ND...ERS...RU...LE...S....”
He ended it all with a quick flourish of his wand; the letters shinnied brightly before exploding in a wave of color and heat, momentarily illuminating the twilight sky.

She blushed so much but still having that childish look of amazement on her face that he chuckled kissing her forehead still looking up. The Evelyn and Wes couples were also watching and the four of them heard an authoritarian woman's voice call forth from the Summers family's tent, yelling something nearly indiscernible over the loud firework's bangs. “TOM SUMMERS!! SAVE THAT FOR LATER OR YOU'LL FIND YOURSELF WITHOUT A WAND!!” Tom’s face turned as red as his robes as he swiftly tucked his wand away. He then took rose over his shoulder and walked her into the forest where they could be alone. The naked Scottish man had made friends and they too were running around naked with him, Tom covered her eyes walking passed the crazy supporters nearly tripping over a front tent garden a goblin shaking his fist at him. “People are crazy here.” He said avoiding some rather fat American witches who giggled waving at him.

“Carful Summers you’ve got admirers.” She said chuckling but stopped when one of the witched flipped the bird at her calling her skinny French priss. She gasped her mouth open in shock and tried to get off his shoulder to give them a piece of her French mind! Tom had trouble holding her down on his shoulder and he also flipped the bird to the witches who laughed. “Cows!!” Red shouted. And they all gasped, luckily for her they were so fat and lazy to get up from their seats and Tom was also running with her over his shoulder. Red was shouting something like “Let those trolls get near I’ll kick their troll backsides!!” And Tom telling her to shut up but laughing.

As they got deeper in the forest, she wondered where he was taking them; the question was answered quickly once he set her on the ground near two strong and large trees. He pulled on a rope and slowly as he pulled, a bed lowered itself. Her mouth opened in surprise.

“I thought ya could use a surprise.” He said gently, tilting his head inviting her to hop on the bed. She did so immediately, her smile so wide and exited he chuckled also getting on the bed, flicking his wand at the rope as it rose them in the trees. “Been workin on it all day, had some help though” he said with a wink. Tom pulled her towards him, lying back in the bed with her on top of them as the fireworks began.

They lit up the skies above them, bright colors of red, golden blue, purples, greens… She would go “oooh” and giggle sometimes pointing to the sky showing him, he’d smile warmly “...It's still just silly bits of fire next to you, ya know...” He’d say whispering in her ear as his thumb caresses her cheek. He was no longer paying attention to the fireworks unlike Roselyn who seemed to find childhood all over again, her mouth was open and she resembled a child in front of a Christmas tree. A big bright blue boomed and illuminated the sky, fluttering fire butterflies flew around the forest… That’s when a glowing blue and purple butterfly posed itself on her nose and she went cross-eyed to see it, giggling. He silently admired her while she looked on in wonder, he himself wondering whatever happened to that sweet, innocent child in her at times... He then chuckled and gently nudged her nose with a finger after the butterfly fluttered away into the firth...and dissolved into radiant azure flickers of light.

And then, as they laid there high up, close to the heavens with a beautiful view she couldn’t help but think “Screw you Walker.” Grinning, thinking that he’d never get something as beautiful as this, and then all the drama and troubles washed away as Tom's arms tightened around her. None of that mattered, what mattered was the love she had for Tom… Screw everyone else and what they thought. Angel was right, if people stuck their noses in her buisness they could stick it. She also felt happier knowing Liss, Angel, Tom and even Zane in his own way were right behind her. Tom seemed to have guessed that she was feeling better and tickled her stomach softly making her giggle into the night…

C'mere, you silly thing...” And he'd slowly lift her off him to move her to his side, his blue eyes on hers... his face closing in on hers...his broad shoulders casted in colored shadows against the bright lights and booms... The sky would change color with every boom, each firework was special and different, and shinny shamrocks fell on them, along with floating sparkles. It seemed like he had picked out the perfect spot for the fireworks… Roselyn’s green eyes looked to him still smiling sweetly, a rebellious curl in the middle of her face, he pushed it away behind her ear, his lips getting closer to hers, his low intimate voice telling her he loved her and then kissed her lips in a gentle and tender way…
