For those who read the Daily Prophet, the Wizarding newspaper of the going-ons in the Magical Community, you will notice a small snippet on the back page of the ‘Variety’ section. This small, eighth-of-a-page article is about a local boy who has won a local talent contest. The short article reads as follows: ‘Sage in the Rough’ By Adhamh Zeager "At the ripe young age of eleven, a star is born. The 4456th Annual Ipswich Regional Talent Contest was held this last Friday. It was a great show for all that attended, especially when the young Simon Sage took the stage. Sage is the lead singer for the band that calls themselves ‘The Juju Boys’. Sage took the stage as the band began to play a remarkable cover of the Muggle singer Neil Young’s song entitled ‘Keep on Rocking in the Free World’. Sage took the stage blowing an incredible solo on his signature harmonica. As the song drew to a close, ‘The Juju Boys’ were met with thunderous applause and a standing ovation. The winners of the talent contest will receive 20 hours of recording time in a studio to publish their first amateur album. After the show, Sage was asked what he thought of the night and had this to say: 'I uhh ... don’t really know what to say .. I’m a bit stunned .. But the boys and I had a great time performing and hope we can continue to make music for all of the fans out there.' Sage is expected to make a rather large impact on the Magical Music World within the next few years, so keep an eye out for this soulful young star." There the article ends. Below the article is a picture of Simon standing with the band, waving and smiling shyly. The other members of the band appear to be a bit older and a bit more outgoing in the picture, many of them making rude faces in the background. Simon stands off to the side allowing the other members to be seen, waving and smiling modestly from time to time. If you look closely at the picture of the band, you will notice that Simon has an unusual patch of skin on his face that encompasses the area from his neck, over his left cheek and begins in a swirl pattern covering his left eye, which is a pale yellow. The patch of skin appears to be of small, tight, red scales. His pale yellow eye seems to have a slight draconic look to them. But as you examine him, he turns and gives his usual smile and wave to the camera. After you are finished reading the article, you see the usual sort of advertisement you would see on the back page of the ‘Variety’ section, a joke shop advertising exploding toilet paper. You also see several other articles that you don’t bother to read and fold up the news paper and go along with your day. |

OOC: Feel free to write RP comments and actions to these posts. Thanks. A week has past since you have read the article about the young talent contest winner Simon Sage. As you scan the front few pages you see a familiar name pop up from the lines of the Daily Prophet. “Sage Releases First Single” is the title in which the familiar name appears. You remember the previous article about Simon saying that he would have several hours of recording time, and this must be the outcome. You continue to scan over the short article and see an advertisement for a CD which can be purchased via owl. The single is entitled “Days Among the Rest” and the article shows a picture of Simon holding a copy of his single CD. “‘Days Among the Rest,’” you read, “is a high tempo, energizing song that will get your heart-a-beatin’ and your toes-a-tappin’.” writes the journalist. You continue to read that the CD containing Simon’s single can be purchased for only 13 Knuts. You finish the article and consider purchasing the single CD, you rummage around in a pocket and feel that you have enough knuts to buy the CD, and you sit and contemplate while you finish looking over your newspaper. |
