Post subject:  Dungeons and Dragons Group

Conversations could be overheard in the Hogwarts Tent of a group of students talking about a strange game made by muggles where you play as a wizard or a barbian orc or something like that, I think. Maybe something about a dungeon master? What a bunch of nerds regardless.

(( So basically, there's a Dungeons and Dragons group starting at Hogwarts. It will be fully played in-character. We have enough people for it already, but I can happily try to fit more people in if need be. If you want to join in, you're probably welcome to walk up to one of the people involved and RP that your character overheard them talking and wants to know more about it or something. ))

The current group is:
Peran Wricken
Jade Celine
Cray Frencrow
Ashlee Gardner
Angelique Danesque
Amber Ramsay
Ruoy Trams

For those of you already in the group, please post a day/time that will work for you to have our first session.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask in this topic or send me a PM.

Jade Celine - I'm good for most nights, barring IC circumstances, and am usually on after 11 EST! I don't really know how this is going to work, but it seems fun enough. :)

My days off of work are Sundays and Thursdays. My schedule is kinda skewed but totally free on those days

Currently, I'm free every night. I only occasionally have to get up early - even then I just ignore that fact and immediately regret it the next morning.

So would everyone be up for trying next Thursday, then?

Can Lucy interrupt a game and want to join in?

I've thought about it more, and it'd depend on how she did it, really. The thing about D&D is, character creation is pretty complicated and takes a long time, it's not something you can really just jump into and play. If Lucy somehow had her character already made beforehand or something it could work.

Also, would this Thursday work for everyone for the next session?

//Okay, so the campaign so far has mostly been intro, which means everyone's characters were technically present for it, even if you yourself couldn't attend the session. So since all your characters would know what's happened so far, Peran wrote a summary. This is an actual thing on paper that Peran would've handed to everyone in the group.

SUMMARY OF EVERYTHING SO FAR

(I'm writing this summary for you all so you know what you missed.)

Our heroes awoke in a large featureless room with no memory of how they got there. They still had all of their equipment.

A stupid ugly little shorty came in and they interrogated it, but its stupidity, ugliness, and size were very apparent. It started shouting and Professor Roxy stabbed it.

His friends heard the shouts and came in to fight, and were killed by our heroes. The bodies were looted, and among the loot was a key and a book that mostly contained a strange, unrecognizable language.

They went into the next room, which had seemingly no other exits (meaning they were kinda trapped), but the room contained a cell with an orc-looking man, and an exquisite chest. It also contained tables with scattered papers, but those weren't examined.

Professor Roxy tried to open the chest, and the half-orc got upset and demanded that she not touch his stuff. Ssin'urn attempted to pick the lock on the cage to release the angry half-orc, but failed to do so and broke the locking mechanism inside. The half-orc, named Holf, went into a rage and slammed the gate off its hinges. Holf then tried to similarly smash the chest, but it slipped from his grip and hit the floor unscathed. He told Ssin'urn to do it, and she demanded pay. Holf paid her 4 gold to do it. She did so successfully.

Holf retrieved his gear from (Sam's an awesome roleplayer by the way, you guys) the chest, not caring at all that the bottom of the chest was covered in mold. Professor Roxy examined the mold and it seemed mostly normal, but something was slightly off about it. She didn't know what, though.

The group searched for a hidden exit of some kind, and Holf remembered hearing mechanisms near a section of the wall he couldn't see from his cage. Ssin'urn searched that wall and found a button, but strongly persuaded Holf to press it instead of her.

Holf pressed the button and was immediately engulfed in flames, then dropped dead to the floor. It was then that the group noticed that, upon pressing the button, they all seemed to be in a completely different room. It was much larger, easily three times the size of the Great Hall at Hogwarts in every dimension. In the center was a very large red dragon, presumably the source of the fire.

Ssin'urn, who was hidden by a pillar, managed to sneak around the back of the dragon, where she spotted a dusty old hammer.

Professor Roxy met the same fate as Holf.

Ssin'urn picked up the hammer which felt ENORMOUSLY heavy, yet she was somehow also able to pick it up with ease.

Ssin'urn met the same fate as Holf and Professor Roxy.

(Those who were absent to the session also met the same fate, as we had to imply your characters were there for the sake of the plot.)

Our heroes awoke in a VERY large, VERY flat field, which was coooooovered in bodies. As far as the eye can see. All unconscious, but still alive.

Our heroes all suddenly felt INTENSE fear, with seemingly no cause. Slowly a shadowy cloaked figure with red eyes appeared in their mind. They couldn't see him or anything, it was more like they were just suddenly aware of its appearance. But then the figure faded from their minds, along with the fear, as suddenly as they came. And that's where we ended it.

Amber, Myra would find that she still has the loot she got.

Angel, Ssin'urn would find that she still has the hammer.

All wounds and skill per day cooldowns would be reset.

After next session, it should make much more sense for some people to be present and not others without having to imply that anyone's there when they weren't. Sorry if I forgot anything important.

Post subject:  Re: Dungeons and Dragons Group

As you all (hopefully) remember, when the group was still in the area before waking up in the field, they looted a book that was partially written in common and partially written in some strange language they didn't understand.

Upon closer examination, they would find that every page in the book is actually the same page repeated over and over, one side of the book having writing, the other side having nothing but four lines.

Because I'm a huge nerd with too much time on my hands, I made a web page that shows the pages,
the link to which can be found here.

The page does have some interactivity, but the true nature of that won't be discovered until later in the campaign. ;)
