Well, I haven't stopped playing, and neither has Drake as far as I know, but it seems things are up in the air with the server and all, so maybe someone can explain it all, where things stand and such...I mean I have been to the password protected server and adventured some, but I guess it has not gotten around yet, so I was rather the only one playing

As far as I know, the password-locked server is -only- so you can pick up your old characters from JB's servervault.
(And grab things out of your storage box...don't forget, like I did >.>)

I'm assuming the server will be taken down in a bit once people are done picking up their characters.

Yes Felien in correct, that server password protected his only, for people to get their characters, the server thats running for play is the nik server.
Although i would sugest that the server nik is running should be protected by a password, put the module on the rp section, and the only ones that should know the password, would be the ones that are registered in the forum, and as description of the server we should post, that to play we should be in this forum, so just say the forum name and voila, it would take out those jockers that only wanna do xxxxx.

Passwords kill growth just as much as HAKs do. I do agree that the mod should be listed under Role Play again, though.

that also means a huge influx of pvpnoobs that only want to ruin the fun..

Right now growth isn't my priority. I'd rather focus on stability.

Once we have everything in order, and loose ends are tied off, classes get
going at a normal pace, and we've maximized the fun of the players we
already have...

... then we can think about expanding.

The reason I'm against passwords at this very moment is because there
are a large number of players who, yes even now, are just starting to
realize that Harry Potter is still up. While they should be encouraged to
use the forums, they shouldn't be penalized for having not done so before.

Passwords in the future... maybe. I've seen servers with passwords do
well, and I've seen servers with passwords not do well, we'll see.

As for Roleplay section, hasn't anyone noticed that since switching to
tech support, all the old goons, who are now unbanned (different comp,
remember), haven't returned? I think they were trolls who just surfed the
RP section for ppl to bug.

We might go back to RP later, but not now.
