Rini was born in the States. California, to be exact.
Her mother was adopted and a waitress. Her father, a factory worker. Both muggles. However... Her mother's adopted mother, was a witch. So when Rini was born , it came as a huge shock to her 'Gramma'.
Unfortunately, neither her mother, nor her father, wanted a child. Rini only lives by the love of her grandmother, who virtually begged her daughter to have the baby. And both of her parents remind the poor girl at every opportunity. Unfortunately, as well... Her grandmother died a week before Rini's eleventh birthday.
Unloved and unwanted, when Rini received the letter from Hogwart's, her parents were all too pleased to send her away. And to foot the bill for her schooling. Horribly ashamed of their 'mutant' daughter, they packed her belongings, and sent her on her way.
Rini is a quiet little girl, who's blue eyes always register fear and self loathing, making her gaze seem much older than her mere eleven years. Being so severely abused, emotionally and physically, has made her virtually petrified of other people. However, she will most likely open up to any who are nice to her, since it is such a rarity in the cute little thing's life.
She speaks with a Latin accent, her parent's and grandmother being all from Puerto Rico. Though her father is half Puerto Rican, which explains her blue eyes. Freckles adorn her cheeks, though with each year she grows, they seem to fade just a tad more.
She has the curious nervous habit, of tugging roughly on her hair. Usually grasping a lock of it, or her entire ponytail, at the end, and yanking on it.
She also seems to have something of an obsessive compulsive behavior, be it setting her place at the dinner table in absolute perfect order, or folding her clothes so that creases go where they belong, and nothing is wrinkled.
