It's not really touched upon, except nibbled about the edges, by both the books and the movies.
For example, would people who consider themselves Nature's Nobility, revere people who display "proof" that they have stayed "pure"?
Recessive traits, like albinism, for example?
I could easily see albinism being romanticized by pure-blood society as "being so pure it shows on the skin", while the rest of the world sees it as a genetic disorder.

Hardly anyone in WOHP shows any traits of typical Pure Blood society, but, things like that are not looked fondly upon in modern day society. So, maybe it's just not cool anymore?

That or because of the rising number of mixed blood, it's best to not be a total snob. >.>
In addition, it's easier for people to RP what they're familiar with, so they'll usually play a muggle-born or half-blood.

I think it has more to do with the fact that if you RP being a big pure-blood loving jerk, everyon'es going to hate you and you'll get jack-all RP. The end result being that people who want to play purebloods play characters that "don't care" about it, when, from what we've seen in the books, purebloods usually seem to care a great deal.

I'd rp with pure bloods who care about it, I'd like it if there were more people who did and muggle-born hating slytherins, etc.

Roi is like that.. He doesn't hate Slytherins, he just doesn't really trust any of them. Even though he's only a half-blood, though he grew up in muggle society.

Their entire family had a certain unexplained respect for muggles. Possibly started by Athur, but you could tell already in book 1, by Malfoy's behavior towards Ronald.. and yeah, the Weasleys are kind of a rare breed, supposedly.

That, and they're some of the poorer members of the wizarding world. Not all PB's are rich, apparently.
Though I would blame that on the Weasley family not making use of contraceptives.
On the whole, though, this is about physical traits that PB's would find favor with.
One would think that it would be the recessive traits in hair and eye color that they would find favor with. Lighter colors may mean "cleaner" or "more pure" blood, because darker colors would indicate "muddy" blood because brown, black etc are found in earth tones.

I see your point. There's no evidence to suggest that Pure Bloods select FOR those traits in breeding, but once they're in the system I can see that they would have a higher chance of being passed on.
I suppose it wouldn't really matter, but the theory is interesting none the less.
First positive post for a while, I think. Yay me. Boo you guys!
