Among the dark shadows clustering around the Prefect's tall figure in the darkened Entrance Hall, was a quiet voice, in his head. Such thoughts had haunted his mind often, apart from Classes, when Nathaniel was idle. Standing like a stone against the pillar, his head was raised high above the dripping wax that fell from the candle. In such abstinence from sleep he thought such silly and strange thoughts.

Is the moon tired? she looks so pale
Within her misty veil:
She scales the sky from east to west,
And takes no rest.

Before the coming of the night
The moon shows papery white;
Before the dawning of the day
She fades away.

I used to be part of it. I was loved. I was known. But now, I break away, drifting off. Only the Goddess knows where I shall go. Wherever I go, no one will notice. They will simply reform, and I will be repelled out into the shadows. Just a loner.

I’m sick and tired of those who complain!
Do they lack a [censored] brain?

Why don’t they see they have nothing to gain?
God only knows how much it hurts to abstain!

From really showing them my true disdain!
It’s driving me to a point in making me insane!

Nathaniel was angry. If it wasn't obvious enough, he was extremely frustrated. As he walked to the Entrance Hall, he glowered at every First Year asking him a question, and pushed and shoved like never before. Every living thing was an idiot, according to Nathaniel. Every thing. Especially one person. Just one.

Nathaniel stood looking at the water that cascaded down from the dry rocks above. He knew what happened at this place. And he remember who did it. It was someone he had trusted so dearly. And just for that, he began to play through the scenes that had happened with that person, etching hate into every crevice of his memory.

// Just an OOC note. I bet most of you are wondering *WTF is this?*, this thread is a contempory roleplay, relying on song, movement, picture, and poetry to help tell the tale. If you can't tell what any of the stuff mean, feel free to PM and ask what the meaning behind it is. Thanks for reading!

Is this Nirvana?
Nathaniel sat on the cliff's icy edge, gazing into the cold waters beneath him. His coat was pulled tight around him, sheltering his thin body from the freezing gale that swept over the cliffside.
Some say the truth is out there. However, the only 'truth' I can find, is the fact that my hand is where I placed it. And my head is on my neck.

Autumnal Leaves littered the forest floor, crunching with every footstep he took. Nathaniel ducked under a low branch, his hair snagging on the spiked twig. He yelled in agony, and pulled back to remove his hair from the thorny bark. After doing so, he turned back to his original direction, and paused. Where had he been going? Standing a few moments in silence, his ears adjusted to hear a soft trickling sound. Water. There was a stream nearby. He began in journey again, careful to avoid the branches that reached out towards him like sharp hands.
"Careful where you're going. You could always get lost." A voice echoed from behind him, soft as the wind, but somehow strong and masculine.
Nathaniel turned around quickly, only to be greeted by a Young Man with dark, black skin, and hair as smooth as Nightfall. He seemed to be clad in nothing, standing in his 'burly' nudity.
"I... I was... I know where I am going!" Nathaniel's voice wavered, as he tried to keep a straight head, looking skywards.
The boy chuckled and let out a sigh, "Come now, I shall help you on your journey."
Nathaniel quickly nodded, before following him through the bramble and trees.

Half of an Hour passed, and Nathaniel grew weary, his eyes drooping from the restlessness. The Mysterious Stranger seemed strangely unharmed by the thorned bushes that were increasing in number, and leaving Nathan with a good number of cuts and scratches.
"Are we there yet...?" He yawned, and looked up to his 'Guide,' only to drop his head again with red cheeks.
"Yes. Yes we are." The Young Man said, his voice filling Nathan with delight.
The Young Man stepped through the endless bushes, into a small clearing. A mat was present on the floor, weeds surrounding the earthen floor.
"Come, sit with me." He demanded, and sat on the twine mat.
Nathan hastily obeyed, sitting opposite him, his eyes glued to Young Man's face. All previous questions were gone from Nathan's mind, the only thing present being this new Entity in his life.
"I am aware, you are... missing something." The voice was there again, and Nathan could feel it trickling down his skin like honey.
"I am...?" Nathan questioned, looking into the Stranger's eyes, which instantly answered his question, "Yes, I am."
"I can fulfill that. I can feed you on what you are missing..." He trailed off, before lying down on his front, "Sit on my back, I will give you desire and passion."
Nathan was quick to obey, and sat down on his dark back, placing his hand on his shoulders, "I am ready."
However, the Young Man's body began to bubble and boil, and Nathan stared open-mouthed. He was now sitting on a black horse's back, which rose off the floor, standing on it's hoofed feet. It's tail stretched out, and whipped wildly at the air, before stretching up and whinnying.
Nathan cried out, and tried to pull away, off of the creature, his hands and body unable to move, stuck to the surface like glue.
The horse galloped off, into a canter and through the rapid plant life, Nathan's skin and clothes being etched with scars. He couldn't pull away anymore, he was so tired from the trek he just took.

After a few minutes, the Horse jumped into a body of water, it's tail crashing down on the water and making a banging sound.
His sight was blurred by murky liquid, and he tried to pull away once more, still stuck to this Dark Horse, the leader of his death.
He opened his mouth, the only breath available flooding his lungs. He was drowning. He was dying. One last gulp of water... he was dead.

Nathan's mind awoke from it's blurry sleep. His eyes were crusted together with sleep, and he rubbed them, sitting upright. He opened his eyes, staring out into the dark room. He thought through the event that just unfolded in his dreams. He knew what it meant, but worst of all, he knew nothing could eradicate his weakness.

The sun was shining through the window, making a silver tap sparkle and glisten. Nathan lay in the water, a halo of golden blond hair surrounding his face. So many thoughts sat in his mind, mainly from a few days before, and the letter.
It was the letter that changed it all, it made him feel indifferent, and so... so silenced. It was just impossible to tell her that it might not be okay, he could not even drop a hint.
“... the truth is currently unknown about her condition...”

But, he couldn't tell anyone. He just couldn't let it slip from his pale lips.
“She'll be fine,” He whispered to himself, sitting upright, “Everyone will be fine.”
He placed a finger to his lips, and looked into the Water's Surface. It was so hard not to tell them, like Feargus. He had almost told him.
Nathan couldn't. It was... so hard not to.

You know... things have never worked out. I've always been hurt. In the end, it wasn't my fault. And that's something I've had to make myself believe. But, there's always room for hope...

What more can I say? Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand. So, I guess I've finally grasped it.

... Pray to the Goddess this works out.
