Rumors, beyond most belief, suggest that Patrick Quigley actually had a spring in his step while walking in public. The esoteric, arcane power of performing such an unthinkable feat is beyond the imaginations of these rumor spreaders. Some are scared, and some are interested, but most are simply in shock.

Patrick has heard these rumors and doesn't appear anywhere but classes, using obscure shortcuts to get to class, where he stays low and sneaks off to another complex series of shortcuts to shake off any followers. He has shown no sign of walking with a spring in the step so far.

Rumours concerning everyone's favourite Canucklehead:

- Keeferson actually HAS no first name, as it was stolen from him by fairies as a child (along with, apparently) his sense of humour

- the tall Third Year Hufflepuff was originally a Slytherin from two years ago whom was banished from Slytherin by Professor Snape in a towering rage

- Keeferson has been claimed by various upper classmen to be "Slytherin-designated property", mainly being used as a chef, a spell-check device, a pillow, and an apothecary for younger students. (When asked about this, normally Keeferson doesn't have a clear answer, but looks around furtively first before attempting to make a swift getaway... unless it is a Slytherin damsel asking.)

- Keeferson is actually an experiment of Professor Snape's gone horribly wrong in terms of Transfigurations and Potions. (This is easily dismissed, but would explain why so few have seen his face.)

It is rumored that Patrick was an idiot in Arithmancy Class, and hasn't been seen in the Great Hall even for meals, and barely in the Hufflepuff Common Room, only during curfew in his bed. He is only seen by other people if they wait like creepers outside Hufflepuff or during class.

Of course, truths can spread like rumors, and those rumors can lose veracity as they pass along the grapevine. And rumors can seem true. Our rumors, as abundantly clear from this thread, can be pretty wild. But, sometimes, so can our truths.

I would say there's nothing necessarily wrong with someone posting a fact and implying it is being propagated around the school like a rumor. Nor is it necessarily wrong for someone to post wildly untrue rumors. However, I believe the intention of this thread is for these rumors to have some purpose for in-game roleplay beyond a simple recording of events (which usually go in a separate character thread in the Roleplay section) or a deliberate spread of misinformation.
