Thought I would start a specific thread labeled spoilers. Feel free to discuss your post-viewing opinions and movie discussion here. Obviously, if you're a movie purist and you want an unspoiled first-viewing experience, DON"T read this thread. :-)

ZOMG! I loved the part where Harry took the Liquid luck and he is standing next to Hagrid and he did the little pinchers thing... I died laughing.

I thought the whole movie was so gorgeous...just visually stunning. Every single scene. So beautifully crafted and filmed. The only other movie I've seen that affected me that way was Lord of the Rings, Return of the King. Half-Blood Prince was absolutely gorgeous in every little detail.

When Draco said he was going to toss himself off the Astronomy tower, I nearly died laughing and no one else in the theater was because they had no clue...

I just could go on, and on, and on about how many parallels I saw in this movie to our server. Very specific ones as well. I personally really could identify with Draco, while the situation was different, there were quite a few parallels with Liss.

The potions classes just felt like a DM'd class to me. Awesome!

I loved the Slytherin twins. They just made me laugh. Just the fact that they existed.

The love potions, and everything about how the characters interacted with them, was sheer win.

Lavender Brown (and that whole dynamic) just made my day. I could see soooo many of the various characters on our server during that whole thing. They did that so very well.

The directing was -absolutely wonderful.- I have had a fear of directors since movie 3, which was the worst directing job of any of the movies. It completely killed what would have otherwise been a good movie. This was near perfect. My -only- complaint was that some of the locations were not clearly explained; it wouldn't have been clear to those who haven't read the books. In particular, the Room of Requirements and Olivanders. All in all, very minor complaints.

I loved "You just earned detention for a month."

Dennis Leary was in it! That's always win.

I really enjoyed the spellcasting and dueling, from Draco and Harry to the Death Eaters.

Everything just was so awesome. The castle looked great, the dynamics between characters was very well portrayed, The lightheartedness was perfectly mixed with the drama. I can't say enough about it.

The pedestal on the island in the lake in the bigger island in the ocean was really well-made, I thought. It's just me, but the inferi were not creepy enough, and the inferius huggling Harry underwater was really funny, actually.

I loved the burrow's stairway, looking up. That was awesome. The burning burrow was sad...

In the Room of Hidden Things, they should have shown where it was put, because I really wanted to see what they'll use for Ravenclaw's Diadem.

Fenrir wasn't creepy enough! Geez!

Narcissa wasn't good enough to be Narcissa. And what was up with the black hair section?

Dumbledore was really, really weird in this movie. Weird. In a good way.

I agree, Narcissa was a disapointment... And I thought the inferi were creepy!

But other than that, what everyone else said. The movie was ftw!

I adored Lavender Brown... her drawing the heart on the glass window on the train made me lol so hard!!!! And then her sitting at the table, brooding with the spoon! :D I loved it!

I thought Fenrir was plenty creepy.
I thought Narcissa was gorgeous and wonderful.
Bellatrix was brilliant. I couldn't take my eyes off of her in any scene she was in.
The boy who played Tom Riddle gave me the chills, I checked the credits for him, Hero Fiennes something, I was wondering if he was related to Ralph Fiennes. I ended up Googling him and he's Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, nephew to Ralph Fiennes who played Lord Voldemort. I thought it was a wonderful choice using essentially the real-life nephew of real-life Voldemort to play the younger Dark Lord. Brilliant young actor, I loved watching him.
Slughorn...oh my goodness. What brilliant acting.
There had better be some Academy Award nominations from this film. As much as I'd love to see it, I actually doubt it will happen. Also, the music was brilliant. There were some new musical themes I hadn't heard in the previous movies, and they added so much to every scene.

Now, the only thing I really took exception to was the scene protraying the assassination of Professor Dumbledore. I'm just going off the top of my head and haven't referenced my book, but it seems to me that in the book, Harry was under his invisibility cloak and was paralyzed by Dumbledore to keep him from interfering and getting himself hurt. Those spells wore off as soon as Dumbledore died. Again, those are my memories of the book, I could be mistaken.

In the movie, however, they showed Harry nearby and watching everything, his wand out but taking no action. Not invisible and certainly not paralyzed. I'm not sure why they chose to change the scene in that way. It would have been so easy to keep it true to the book, and would have made more sense. Just my opinion though, what did you guys think?

There was this tv show/documentry on british tv last weekend to do with the making of the film and the lake part was actually done in a studio with the lake digitally made, it showed how they filmed it with a green screen behind and loads of glass in the shapes of ice things, it was so cool.

Edit- If anybody wants to watch the documentry on youtube or whatever, it was called Harry Potter Behind the Magic. Definately worth a watch.

Absolutely fantastic. I loved the beautiful sets....every setting in the place was so incredibly well made. Absolutely felt amazing...and it felt like home, lol. I've walked those corridors!

I also agree about the actor who played Tom Riddle....wow, he was incredible! Spot on, and he really made Voldemort that much more of a character.

Loved the settings, loved the acting, loved the directing. Was kinda annoyed at the beginning (the whole time I'm wracking my brain, trying to remember from my last reading over a year ago how it started, going to myself "Is this right?" Turns out it wasnt).

Yeah, it's funny...I didn't even realize til last night that the Dursley's weren't in this movie. Turns out I didn't miss them, apparently. Still, I think this is the first movie without them.

Hm, hadn't thought of it that way. Perhaps they couldn't get them to return for some reason, and that's why they altered the beginning? That works for me.

Exactly, maybe they couldn't get the contracts sorted out, that's usually the reason certain performers don't re-appear in sequels.
