But then why do most dark wizards come from slytherin if it was not for personality. Did every single one just want to be slytherin? That is a pretty large coincidence.

If you'll reread my argument, you'll see that the logic I provided is one of the main reasons that not EVERY Slytherin is a Dark Wizard. And you're arguing against yourself. By your own logic, if the hat is based off of personality, than every single Dark Wizard should be from Slytherin which isn't the case.

Because Slytherin is typically associated with Salazar (sp?)? Kids are raised in families, encouraged to join certain houses because thats how they are raised/taught. They also typically are raised to believe the way their family does. So.. dark wizard mates and has babies.. he/she will likely push those dark wizard tendancies off on their kids. (Nic stated something similar. I would referr you to his post as well.) Here is a good example: Ron Weasley In my opinion he is not incredibly brave.. I personally do not think he holds a lot of attributes some might associate to a "Griffindor". Yet he was raised in a family of Griffidors.. and for him it would have been tragic not to have been chosen for that house. but meh. even the books and movies clearly state that the decision is mostly placed upon the kid. Heck look at Harry Potter.. the hat wanted to put him in Slytherin.. but HE wanted to be in Griffindor. Pick what you want IMO. *shrug* err and to be slightly on topic of the OP.. good luck with this guys! I would kind of like to join in but I don't want to start out brand new again >.< I just did that a week ago

Shea wrote: Heck look at Harry Potter.. the hat wanted to put him in Slytherin.. but HE wanted to be in Griffindor. While I agree with the rest of your post, I think the only reason the hat wanted Harry to be in Slytherin initially was because Harry had a piece of Voldemort in him.

Well Harry was suppose to be in Gryffindor because, seen in book 2, he was able to get the hat to conjure the sword of Gryffindor. This happens to be a feat the only a "true Gryffindor" can do.
I personally thing the Hat was testing Harry. By the Hat suggesting Slytherin, it even further prove the point that Harry was strong-willed and should be sorted into Gryffindor.
Also Ron does fit Gryffindor. Courage does not mean not being afraid. Courage is being afraid, but still being able to do what ever gives you that fear. He has shown that as he has been with Harry through many adventures.
I am not J.K. Rowling, and I have only read the books once so I am not a harry potter genius. These are just my views.
Sorry I know this is kinda leading the thread off subject

*Kicks the topic back on topic.* I'll be joining this. I'll need a few days to decide things for the character, so I'll have a beginning bio up at a later date.

.....We should probably figure this out, soon? Hopefully in a civil manner, but we can do a fight to the death if we must. Although that'll cut down on the players involved in this.
