Wow, I can't believe it's been two years. I don't know if continuing this thread is preferable to creating a new one, but here it goes.

I've been watching the movies again and thought I'd give this another go, however I wanted to get some feedback on a character I'm trying to flesh out.

I wanted to do a character than grew up outside Great Britain, yet ends up attending Hogarts. I tried finding information on other wizarding schools around the world in the HP universe and came up empty handed. My character at this point is the son of 2 muggle doctors who run a clinic in New York. I don't have may details worked out, but I thought perhaps he learned of his abilities and about Hogwarts from a wizard who runs an alternative medicine/apothecary near his parents clinic. He would have a natural skill in restorative magics (which means I'd role him as a cleric). He isn't overly competitive, wanting to help whomever needs it. I'm leaning toward Hufflepuff at this point, though Slytherin is the only definite "no".
