And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.
Upon first glance of the boy, one would take away his rather dated sense of fashion. He chooses to cloak himself in elegant Victorian tunics or other "Old" styles and would most commonly be seen in such garb. However, despite his fondness towards the outdated era, Salem can be seen wearing a modern style of dress as well. He keeps his hair short, and well looked after. Not a lock or strand out of place. To look the boy in the eyes would be fruitless, the elusive brown orbs would almost always appear to be looking through you rather then at you. Lowering your gaze, you'd fine a chiseled jaw but lips that rarely smile or show emotion. From a greater distance, it would be easy to judge Salem's height to be around six foot, possibly an inch or so taller, with a body weight and fitness that leads one to believe he is a rather athletic boy.
Salem would almost be a poster boy for material wealth, with a golden chain around his neck, and hands adorned with several polished rings. Salem would wear a certain Egyptian ring, that has all sorts of carvings and ancient symbols on it, upon a chain and hung around his neck. This would be beneath his other jewelry that hung from his neck. As far as tattoos go, the boy has maybe one. Several Carpathian words appear to be scorched or burned into his right forearm, it appears to be some type of creed or code. Or it could just be a branding.

Salem has been quoted to come off as "Dark, and mysterious", perhaps because of his lack of interest in his surroundings. No one object or person seeming to be capable of holding his fragile attention. Despite the initial facade, those that actually converse with him, find him to a gentlemen of sorts. Always speaking with a suave set of manners, and a tendency to move or act with the subtle elegance of a gentleman. But is this truly him? No one has ever been able to hold his interest for longer then the basic pleasantries of a greeting or idle small talk. Only time will tell, what truly lies behind that charming cover. "Slytherin Leos can be either very good, or very bad. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do. . . In terms of classes, Salem excels most notably in four. Potions, Charms, Transfiguration, and Ancient Runes. This in no way implies that he is not capable of succeeding in other classes, just they appear to be unable to hold his delicate interest. He tends to be very unfocused or indifferent when taking any class, not in his preferred area of study. Unless of course, that subject happens to be muggle studies, in which he has been known to openly show a resentment towards.
His knowledge and abilities don't just stop in class, however. The boy is fluent in three languages, and in the process of learning a fourth. Salem can speak English, Romanian, and the rare, mostly forgotten tongue of his bloodline, Carpathian. The language in the works would be Italian. However, Salem doesn't limit himself to that of colorful speech. He would have it noted that he is an exceptional duelist in his own right, rarely passing up a chance to duel.
He would also be knowledgeable in his Carpathian ancestry, and perhaps all the nasty little secrets that come from such lore.
Salem doesn't seem to have mentioned any actual, conventional after schooling goal. But does seem to have a fondness towards mastering the elements, while it's not really a profession, it doesn't seem to deter him from trying.
Home, the spot of earth supremely blest, A dearer, sweeter spot than all the rest. . . Deep in the northern half of Romania, and the eastern half of the Carpathian mountain range is the city of Baia Mare. This would be both the birth place of Salem and the entire Delacroix family tree. They live in wealth, in a castle somewhat isolated by the mountains and a great deal of distance from the actual citiy limits. The Delacroix family is rather close knit, and few things come before ones family. The local city dwellers either hold great respect, or fear towards the wealthy family as legend tells a rather interesting tale about them. Accustomed to castle life already, the move to Hogwarts was essentially no change for the boy, but it would remain clear nothing surpasses his home in his eyes.

I don't trust them. We're friends. As far as friendships and relations go, Salem remains indifferent to most. He may talk to you, He may even go as far as help you, but one should not consider him a friend unless otherwise stated. He holds both himself and others to a very high standard, sadly such standards are hard to meet. He considers few people to be friends, and even those are by circumstance. He has been known to be overwhelmingly protective in some cases, which has effectively burned a few bridges in respect to forming new friendships. The boy doesn't seem to care however.

On matters of more intimate relationships, it would be duly noted that the relationship between Kestrel Maevenici and himself would have ended as quickly as it sparked. This would mostly be due to her disappearance.
However, it could be noted that Mr. Delacroix would be dating and seen in frequent company with the hufflepuff student, Emily Jade Hodgkins.
