Well if either of you are going to watch it, Watch Full Metal Alchemist the Brotherhood. It is the best one that follows the manga. And I know some are not into animee. But the story is great and the ideas are too!

Personally I'd suggest just reading the Manga instead.  But it's quite a good drawing, regardless.

From what little I know...
Manga is like the on paper comic book variety of anime. Or maybe anime is the animated manga. I have no idea beyond that. One's animated, one's not.

Manga: A sort of comic book with "Manga" drawings and it is read somtimes backwards. Anime: It is a series of animated manga. So it moves. (Oh yes I linked Full Metal A )
