Karen Bonoa was seen being even sleepier than usual - falling asleep during the morning in several locations around the castle - and eventually disappearing for the entire afternoon only to reappear just before curfew looking more rested than she had in at least a week. All sorts of rumors fly about her miraculous recovery from borderline narcolepsy, including the use of a brew of her own devising, the "borrowing" of muggle stimulant medications from first year students, or...well, the last rumor probably shouldn't be repeated. For her part, Karen refuses to comment.

Kaori seems quite upset most of the times, yet her friends would never notice such, Since she appears happy around them. Perhaps it is just a rumour!

According to some gullible Gryffindors, Lunus and "Penguin" are so 'together'.It might also be of note that around the time these rumours start, rumours about Oliver having traded his brain for gum also float around.

The rumors of the First Year being owned by Steven Walker can be as vast as a small jinx to putting him in Mungos. When confronted, Steven says "Meh, Just talked to the kid. Nice guy."
When asked about the Matt Rumors, Steven flicks the asker in the forehead. "Matt ain't that kinda guy and if I catch you spreadin' these rumors I'll be slippin you some Laxatives."
Rumors also spread around that Sapphire Bain broke Steven walkers arm in an very heated argument. When questioned, Steven doubles over laughing. When he calms down he says "Yeah, she broke my arm. I was such a mean guy. I hope she doesn't beat me up again."

Rumors also spread that Drado has become the target of a terrorist group aiming to make midgets grow tall.
Rumors spread that Professor Flitwick might be the next target of the terrorist group.
Rumors spread that the name of the terrorist group is "Giantz R Uz!"

Also around the same time of Dumbledore's announcement, the rumor had come about that Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor Gilderoy Lockhart - though good looking to many - hides a vast amount of horrid body odors. Charms can't fix everything as much as we had thought. Should Matt hear the mention of the rumor, he would wave it off as nothing more than a study by a fellow Ravenclaw.
